Dumb question sorry. Do I need to root my phone when I want an ICS upgrade?

I updated my phone two days back from the htcdev site, now the problem since that day is i cant sign into the play store. playstore seems to be down as well. may be its a country thing. any ideas guys?

just updated to ics last night. common issues posted in here by other users have not been ecncountered yet. ics is running smoth just not used to the new software yet specifically with the browser. no issues just not used to using the os yet.

After updating to ICS, my Games apps are laggy.e.g Temple run( Usually slow lags often) why HTC did not provided optimized update?

How do I activate the Full activation of my navigation when i opened the icon market i couldnt access it will always appear the webpage not display.

Hi All,
I have updated to ICS. I will list out my bugs/questions here. Please let me know the answers if you know
1) Weather app couldn't sync properly with Location app & as a result my weather is not getting upadted nor the old weather is getting displayed
2)There is no ringtone trimmer in the default music player provided which was there before
3) No shortcut button to reach Notifications area instead need to drag from the screen
Do any one have solution for these. In weather app I tried all settings. It gives out msg like 'Your location cannot be found.Please select your current location'

aditya , 20 Sep 2012hey guys.i am encountering the error 171 i.e the usb connec... moresame problem i was facing changed ur Pc try to use another computer its may be due to corrupt android driver but i had change pc so m using ICS in my desire s and mus check ur USb or uSb port may be problem in tht way ..

hey guys.i am encountering the error 171 i.e the usb connection error..checked everything required.ports are working fine.everything is fine but still encountering that error.reinstalled htc sync..do i need to run the latest htc sync? m currently using htc sync 2.0.4. what might be the problem here ? any ideas? plz reply.

I don't know why it searches for Location whenever phone is locked/unlocked. Simply displays No Location details found.

did htc remove the ruu from its dev site? the only 4.0 download for desire s is for china 97mb file???

i had a problem with my htc desire s . whenever i want to sync music and videos, it syncs but in htc set i couldnot play that syncronised music and videos.. i don't know what the problem is.....
