High Tech, 09 Apr 2010Well the issue of my phone not shutting OFF is a hardware i... moreSomehow I think I had the same problem as you are having now.

I cannot quite remember it because it is not with my HD2 nor the i900. I cannot figure which previous HTC WM or Pocket PC phone it was.

I am pretty sure that it was the turn off problem too with cutomed ROM and XDA devs site, and something about bad screen protector as well.

Try from scratch again like Anthony has said with Bootloader and original ROM, and remove that screen protector as well if it ain't OEM.

Tired of hearing ipad things. My cousin has iphone 3gs and I've hd2. We always fight & get into argument that who's got the best phone.
I played around with his iphone and of course hd2 beat iphone easily on features & built quality. But truth hurts .....iphone is damn tempting. Its very smooth, fast....does its job without any hiccups. One plus point with iphone is Apps store. Just pay or get free apps as per your requirement. Lets see their new 4.0 update.

I've been doing registry tweaks a lot these days even though same features you can get from B&B or installing cab. I just feel registry tweak is better as you do not need to install anything on phone.

The HD2 is 480 x 800 which puts it in the 480P class.
480P is the standard for regular TV
HDTV signal is 720P or 1080P
The phone is only called HD because when the first one came out it was the only phone that had such a high Resolution that it could match that of a standard TV, making it (AS A FIGURE OF SPEECH) the HD of cell phones.

Therefore, HD or HD2 from HTC has nothing to do with HD (as in High Definition picture/screen) in TV nowadays.

This is my final review of the extended 2400mAh battery found on ebay.

With backlight set at 20% on battery, I have managed 26.5 hours with 10% left in the extended battery.

              18h - regular Standby mode
7.5h - Wifi (awakened) Standby mode
1h - Wifi + Bluetooth (with screen off)
              -----
              Total = 26.5h
              -----

              Usage tested was as followed:

20 min: Radio Slacker via Wifi @100% vol. (screen off)
30 min: Radio Slacker via Wifi @50% vol. (screen off)
1 hour: Radio Slacker via Wifi thru Bluetooth

              30 min: GPS
              30 min: internet via Wifi
40 min: misc. with screen on (e.g. settings & etc...)

              15 min: music video
              15 min: browsing/opening pictures
              5 min: text messaging
              3 min: outbound calls
              10 min: inbound rings vib&ring @100%
              -----------
Just for the test, I called myself x times to see how much consumption it would take to get 5% drain down with the extended battery.

11 missed calls with vibration and ring set @100 volume would take about 5% of the battery in about 10 minutes.

1.5% drain in regular Standby mode.
4.5% drain in Wifi awakened Standy mode.

5% drain in 15 minutes with GPS.
5% drain in 30 minutes with Radio Slacker via Wifi @50% volume.
              ------------

Overall, battery is very good. It is indeed an extended battery.

The fit of the cover is at best average.

You just have to find your way around the size and weight.

Also, the extended battery takes quite some time to be recharged. Hence, you will need a cradle with a battery slot (which I do).
              ---------------
              Conclusion: It's a Disney story.

If you need something nice and pretty (like little princess) with a case, stick with the stock battery.

If you want something that last for hours in term of usage with a big fat belly sticking out that is affordable (hakuna matata), well you don't have much.

Atul, 09 Apr 2010Whats the increase in weight due to extended battery? The increase in weight with the extended battery is about 2.5 times the size of the original battery.

I know it doesn't respond your question in grams. LOL.

Let me try another circle again.

I tried yesterday to put it in front pockets either in your jeans or in a jacket. Well, it is doable of course. Except that I did not carry the phone with me because I felt that carrying such device without a case for that size was not too bright.

In the front pocket of the jeans, it is more of a size (thickness) and protective problem.

In the front pocket of a jacket, it is a weight problem.

However, the non-OEM extended battery is a great deal considering the price that you pay for depending where it is shipped from and how fast you want it.

What you going to have to do is an un-authorized change of ROM from Dutch to an English ROM.

@28% with extended battery after 19 hours.

It seems that battery drains at about 1.5% or less in regular Standby Mode.

Well the issue of my phone not shutting OFF is a hardware issue... I installed Miri ROM v11 and Energy ROM and got the same issue (The HTC Quick screen to Turn off, select Vibrate, etc keeps poping up.. If I select Turn off.. It starts to turn off the device, but comes right back off.. If I hit the end button to go in suspend mode, I have to hit the button twice... Then when I go back into the phone, the HTC Quick screen comes up..)... So looks like I'm going to have to send it back for repairs (that really sucks...)... Only had phone for 5 months.. Never dropped the phone or anything?????

On a side note.. I like the Energy ROM (WM6.5.5)... It seems to be working well so far... I like the look of the WM6.5.5 OS... The ROM is fast and smooth... Just really started to test it out... So far so good... Battery life seems to be okay so far... Gives you the standard battery life for the HD2... I like the dual clock look... The only downside to this ROM is that the cookie app will not work with it... If you install the cookie app, you lose the Energy ROM features... Some apps may not work with is ROM.. So far the apps I've installed works (PI9, Pocketbible, s2u2, touch weather, spb shell, etc..).. So you have to try and install the app's to see what works...

Also ordered a custom case from ebay ($59 US).. Email said it shipped yesterday... Should recieve next week... Will post results of case??? Here's the link for the case:

                                    11% - 5% (30min music) = 6% for 1.5h in Wifi Standby

Average around 4% to 5% drain per hour in Wifi (awake) Standby Mode.
