i am about to flash my first ROM . this is my 1st winmo so not really an expert .
just 2 questions to most users who have flashed custom roms .
so far which custom rom is the most stable?
i can see users recommending see miri and dutty 1.9 .
so i am going to try these first
and more importantly if i need to put the original SPL back on the phone do i need to store it somewhere or is it freely available on various forums .
been doing a lot of reading on this custom rom flash but there is so much info out there !!!!

Can any body tell me which call recoder work well this phone and where can i find it? Is there any problem using call recorder with windows mobile, or it is very stable like symbina OS phone?

newbie, 21 Feb 2010can someone tell me what are the benefit if i upgrade my rom ??Are U talking about cust ROM's??? If so, you get more app's than HTC official ROM's (like reg app, backup app, etc.). Also some cust ROM's have the eBook and Doc Tab's that you don't get in HTC ROM's. Also some are faster and smooth......... I was nervous before trying cust ROM's because I didn't want to BRICK my HD2, but it wasn't hard to install cust ROM's...... Also I can go back to my official ROM if I need to..... Also I can install any ROM cust or HTC official ROM's. SWEET........ Cust ROM's you get more updates than HTC official ROM's......... Still haven't gotten HTC ROM v1.66 for my phone (UK phone) yet...............

High Tech, 21 Feb 2010WELL. I've tried another Cooked ROM. This time it's ROM REV... moreAlso Miri has a second ROM "Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (23540) ROM :: XtraLight :: V 4.0". It's like it says light. Only has WM6.5.X on it, no Sense, or anything. You have about 483MB of storage to customize how you want......... I like that..............

WELL. I've tried another Cooked ROM. This time it's ROM REVIEW: Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (23540) ROM-Sense 2.5, V 4.0. This ROM is a KEEPER... It's fast, smooth, and it sync's alot better then previous Miri ROM's and Duttys v09.... I like Miri ROM's, because it's not loaded with app's I don't need or use, like Dutties. Don't get me wrong Dutties v9 ROM was working good. The only things I didn't like was the sync (sometimes I had to softreset for it to sync when I connected to my laptop). Also you had less storage for app's because his came with app's I didn't use or want.
Miri ROM you get about 206MB of storage for app's.... Now Miri ROM didn't come with:
-HTC Reader Tab (Barns & Noble will have eBook software. Don't really need a tab for this)
-CoPilot (Don't use. Can download if needed)
-Microsoft Weather (It has MSN Weather app)
-Office One Note (Can download if you need it)
-Office Sharepoint (Can download if you need it)
-Face book (New version avail to download)
-Microsoft Market (New version avail to download)
-Weather Wallpapers (Don't use them at all)
All in all this is a NICE, fast, and smooth ROM from Miri. Don't go by Htcpedia review, because I don't know what he's talking about..... This ROM is GREAT. No problems for me so far. Give it a try, and report back on use.........................................

Anthony, 21 Feb 2010did the lock come back on its own? or did what i tell you t... morei did what you try and still did not work and i just went to Menu- All setting-Today-display tap ( in here i realized the it says Windows Classic and then i just changed to Windows Default.I restart and everything back to normal.

oneD, 21 Feb 2010Perfect!!!! Thank you so much. As I mentioned to you before... moreif you change to a cooked ROM, every thing that the cook changed will cange when you use his/her rom.
and you can change it back if you can find your original rom for download.
