The phone comes with 2 browsers and you can install more,
The skyfire browser supports flash video and java
So i can even do online banking. Can you do that on an iphone?
and by the way, if you had tap the glob and do your search from the home page you would have gotten the normal Google search and not the mobile formatted version like you get when you do the search from the bar on the outside.. Too bad you sent it back before you asked a question tisk tisk...

    I got this phone last week on an upgrade and I have just sent it back. As a big user of internet on phones the browser does not compare to my iphone. By this I mean the iphone is much more user friendly and responsive. HTC HD2 is annoying because when you search through Google you get a formatted version of the web page your looking for. Then you have to click on view the page directly. Then Google on the next screen tells you your being routed to the actual page and again you have to click on the link so thats the 3rd page before you get to the site you want. For that reason alone I sent the phone back oh and when typing address etc on the browser it some times glitches and the characters dont show on screen when you are pressing letters etc. Apart ftom that HTC HD2 is a good all round phone but if its mainly internet you use on a phone stick to an iphone for now.

      I wanna get a smartphone with good internet browsing and movie watching as well as music listening experiences. Please kindly tell me which one is better? HTC HD2 or Nexus One? I have never used Winmo before, and why is everyone saying that Android OS is a better choice than WinMo OS? Thanks for your opinions...

        a small tip for all HD2 users. i found that turning off the HTC app vibrations not only increases battery life, it also increases ur typing accuracy! i noticed this since there were times when it goes off by itsself then comes back. i guess its because the tiny vibrations move the phone slightly under ur finger resulting in a different letter being typed! try it and let me know!

            For some reason when I try to sync with facebook under the Data services in settings, I keep getting a login error saying "There was an error while attempting to login" and that's all that it says. Can someone help me with this problem

              ok i can mark an off road location on the new google maps, but i have to do it from my PC and when i log in on the phone it is updated on a layer

                follow up
                I forgot to mention the 16 icon .cab has a graphic glitch when you use it in the 2 cooked roms I tried.
                It works but sometimes it makes the weather animation none responsive. And the background for the date does not show right.

                  Ok here is my cook rom review

                  Before I start I would like the people that have never used a cooked rom on a phone before to know a few things

                  1. Cooked roms are not made by the phone manufacturer.
                  2. When a cooker starts making a rom the first few are just test roms and it is common for them to have a lot of bugs.
                  3. What i have seen from using dutty roms on my HD is there can be 6 or more updates/releases of a rom before it is ready for everyday use.

                  Review

                  Is used “Duttys Leo Holy Grail V.01” will refer to it as (D)
                  I also used Miri HD2 WM6.5 (21887) ROM :: XtraLight :: V 1.1 will refer to it as (M)
                  My HTC rom was 1.48.405.2(71294)WWE will refer to it as (H) so I’m now back to using it again.

                  When I flashed (D) & (M) I noticed that GPS mode and video share mode was already activated by default in the camera but I already had this activated in (H) with the use of BsB tweaks.

                  (D) Had the new Google maps program in it which saves your favorites to your Google account so you will see them when you log into Google maps on your PC but now I couldn’t save favorites to off road locations and i want that for work and hiking.
                  (M) Did not have Google maps at all and when I downloaded it and installed, it did not link to albums with geo tag pictures or footprints for the show on map feature. Like what you get in (H) & (D)
                  And for this reason I said bye bye to (M)
                  (D) did not have CoPilot on it which was good for me because the CoPilot that came with (H) did not have maps for where I am.
                  I also found out that I could download the new Google for (H) if I what so you don’t need the cooked rom to use it.

                  (D) & (M) had msn messenger 11
                  But you can get that for (H) in the Marketplace for free

                  Solitaire and bubble breaker is in the games menu by default
                  For (D) but I know how to fix that for (H)

                  PIM Backup and Pocket RAR already installed on (D) but that can be installed on (H) as well.

                  There is now a built in call recorder that is working in (D)

                  3G on/off switch is in the wireless controls so you have 8 switches not the default 7 but that too can be mode on (H) with a reg edit.

                  .net 3.5 is already built into the rom so you don’t have to install it yourself on (D) and (M).

                  Default mail list now has 6 choices for account type instead of the default 4 in (D)

                  File explorer, office mobile, adobe reader and email auto rotate in (D) without installing any 3rd party software.

                  And the new Documents tab in (D) and (M) shows your (word, excel and pdf) files on the phone with a preview. it even seeing those files in e-mail attachments.
                  But on the downside the preview for .docx files shows a blank page and not the file you have like it does with .doc files. So some work need to be done on that still.

                  Opera on (D) has more than 3 tabs without you having to hack it yourself but you can hack it in (H).

                  New voice recorder is much better in (D) and (M) you can pause when recording and resume recording when ready. It even has a graphic equalizer so you know if your voice is being heard.

                  When you tweak to get “Show owner info” in (D) and (M) the icon comes back but it does not work.

                  (D) has a big Bug in text message when you restore sms from myphone or PIM backup
                  You see them in the preview but when you go to the contact the text window is blank.
                  New text show up ok but I cant live with that so I sad bye bye to (D) for this reason.

                  Sms in (D) and (M) now has a counter next to the person’s name so you know how many un-deleted sms you have with that person.

                  I still had to install the htc camera fix on both (D) and (M).

                  So now I’m back to using 1.48.405.2(71294)WWE when Dutty rom gets to rev. 4 or so I will give it a try again.

                    But what about Mathematica or Maple? Can we install such software on HD2?

                      This little beauty, or should i say big beauty is coming to Telstra Australia shortly, whatever that means, on the NextG network.
                      Well!
                      The cost??
                      Knowing Telstra you'll probably have to take out a mortgage or something to buy the product here in Aus.
                      Anyway,
                      If it looks & performs like the HTC Touch HD,& this time loaded with win6.5, we are in for one ripper of a smart phone.

                        They said pro 2 and diamond 2 was getting 6.5 and they did.
                        They also said upfront that the HD was not getting 6.5
                        So did HTC let you the HD2 is not getting 7?
                        And what is the name of the person you spoke to or e-mailed at HTC? So I can do a follow up my self.

                          Can this phone use 3G network in Canada(Fido or Roger)?

                            If sometimes upgrade doesn't come directly from the manufacturer of the phone, sometimes you may get it later for free from your phone carrier.

                            However, there is some uncertainty for WM7. But since it is a 1GHz device, I bet that HD2 will be upgradable from a phone carrier.

                                but the surfing exp is better than leo . much faster.

                                    i am a nokia user .had my first winmo in hd2. nexus is faster because of the software. better display but its not a complete phone like the hd2.

                                    no point un upgrading from a leo. upgrade if u are using any other phone.
                                    future software updates will make it better i am told.
                                    i might get one more nexus tomm .if ur in mumbai and want it let me know

                                        did u even have any info on when it was going to be availble worldwide.

                                        it was kind of sudden .people were aware about the phone but not the launch date. so wait and watch . or get in from delhi grey mrkt.
