my original rom was 1.43.409.1 and i updated to 1.48.409.1 in norwegian.what i want to use is the last one but in english.

Hi Antony ,
The most of the "difficult question " what the people asking from you and the experience guys like you is just westing your time . People just don’t want to read manual or dreaming about PERFECT PHONE that doesn’t exist . OK sometimes you are extremely helpful and your answers is top professional . I am just a faking crazy about new gadgets and this is the first time that I don’t have solution , you are last hope . Many time I getting cards from 123greetings .com and I can’t see them on my HTC HD2 ,Omnia 2 or BBBOLD 2. I have installed flash player but now result .

If you don't mind using a Reg Editor on your HD2 i found some nice modifications here.

Ok to all the people that want my help to change the rom
The first thing you need to do is go to www.htcpedia.com and become a member, only then will you be able to download the roms.
This is the link to the new rom. click it after you become a member.

the rom can’t be installed just like that you have some tweaking to do to your registry and your SD card which will allow the phone to do and un-authorised change of rom. (don’t worry the tweaks are only needed to get the rom on, it does not stay tweaked after the rom is on the phone.)

The PHM registry Editor file to download and install on your phone is “Pocket PC 2002,2003 (ARM/PXA)” from the drop down list.
CID=SD card’s Serial number
Don’t leave the QMAT running when you are not using it because the free version only works for 10 min. i think.
Try it and if you get stuck, just let me know where you got stuck, in detail and i will help you from there.

i will be able to make calls, su... moreYou will be able to do everything that everyone is doing on the phone but the things that need net access it will be only at 2G speeds because the 3G is not compatible with the U.S.A. networks
And when you need to watch stuff on e.g. YouTube you will have to use Wi-Fi if you don’t want to drop the video quality and in some cases you don’t want it to skip. If you what to use skype mobile it will have to be over a Wi-Fi network because it lags from time to time on a 2G network. (Think of 2G like a slow dialup internet) by the way skype mobile does not support video calls.
As for the pink spot in pictures, you should try to get a HD2 with the new rom version that start with 1.48. ---.- but if don’t you can still

i will be able to make calls, surf the net etc,
but i won't be able to make video calls which this phone is not capable even with 3G connection.
you are welcome to give me a list of what can and can not do with the lack of 3G support.

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2009So, I live in Canada and I understand that if I were to buy... moredude don't do the same mistake as I did. If you want to get the best out of your htc and really enjoy it. Buy if from North America, and be sure it's the North American version. Because if you are unlucky like me you will buy a version from Europe and all you will get is 2g/edge which really sucks if you like browsing on the net and watching videos. The 3g is 7 times faster than 2g yes you heard it right. Otherwise, if you are buying a phone just to use it as a phone, it doesn't matter from where you buy it.

Q1. How can you lock the screen if there is no dedicated screen lock button?
Q2. Does screen wakes up when call/sms comes in when screen is locked? Because I don't want it to wake up.
Q3. On screen keyboard on HTC HD sucked. How has this been improved?
