G-Dawg, 27 Nov 2009I've come on this forum before to ask questions about this ... moreAll your movies should be 480x800 or near that.
The smaller they are from that the more pixellated they will look and if you go too far over that it will start to lose frames.
I use a program called “DVD Catalyst 3” to rip my movies.
In there you set the video player device to HTC then pick Touch HD.
If anyone knows a better converter/ripper please let me know.

A tip for the new bee’s
If you have been having problems with the onscreen keyboard and end up putting words into the XT9 dictionary that you did not want there and now it is always showing up as a suggestion. There is an easy way to edit you costume dictionary.

                1.open “File Explorer”
2.Find the “Windows” folder on the phone memory.
3.Scroll way done till you find “eT9MyWords” (that is the program to edit your custom XT9 dictionary)
                4.Press and hold on it.
5.Pick copy from the popup menu.
6.Scroll up and find the “Start Menu” folder
7.Open it, then open the “Programs” folder
8.In there, tap on “Menu”, “Edit”, “Paste Shortcut”

Now the “eT9MyWords” will show up in your start menu for easy access. (You can rename the shortcut if you like to take the “shortcut to” off of it.)

I'm probably the first user of HTC HD2 in Pakistan and without a doubt this phone is the best!
I previously had HTC Touch Diamond phone and it was a pretty good experience using it for a year and the only trouble it ever gave me was because of its small touch screen.
I read a couple of reviews on HD2's camera quality and was expecting the worse but believe it or not the 5 mega pixel camera works better than my 7 mega pixel digital camera!
My sister has iphone 3G and she's in love with my phone too. This phone is big but extremely elegant and classy.
I wish this phone had more motion-sensor games. Otherwise, it's a brilliant phone. :)

I've come on this forum before to ask questions about this phone before buying it (thx again to Anthony, High Tech for replies to my newbie's questions).

I've had it for a week now, and I must say I love it. Every thing about it (almost).
I do have the pink thing, and like Anthony it's only for pictures taken without flash. My first idea before I read anything about it was that it must be software but I have to admit with all the contradictory statements from HTC, this is all very confusing and I hope the hotfix will be released soon and will work fine.
Anyway I didn't buy this phone for the camera but I have to say this scuks.

To answer some of the questions often asked, I find the virtual keyboard very easy to use, especially in landscape mode. I love the sensitivity of the screen, i really don't think it's too much. (As I've said before, I'm new to WinMob and touch phones altogether, so people with previous experience on other phones might think differently).
I don't like the unlock thing though. I've used my brother's Hero and the thing where you have to push up from the bottom is way more convenient i feel.

Being new to Touchflo and WinMob, I had quite a hard time at first with the UI, but now I love HTC sense. Unlike Anthony, I wouldn't say that you have to dig deep to find the old, stylus but not finger friendly menus and tiny tick boxes of WinMob.
This might get quite frustrating sometimes but these menus are mostly for configuration and are not used everyday.
The multipoint is definitely a must have. Getting around in WinMob and on the internet without it would just be a d*mn hassle.
And for those worrying about the Marketplace, as Anthony said just forget about it. Being not familiar with WinMob I had the same concern but Pocket Pc softwares are available everywhere, you don't need any marketplace.

So far, my wishlist contains : more shortcuts on the home page (9 is non enough), Skype's sound go through earpiece speaker not phone speaker (obviously this is not in HTC's hands but i'm very frustrated about that) and a possibility for a direct shortcut to the task manager.
And sync with 2 EXCHANGE SERVERS!!! This is simply ridiculous I can't get push mail from 2 different servers. I hate it.

Other than that, it's awesome. Most things at which I'm amazed you can do with any smartphone/iphone though, but it's my 1st phone of this kind, so i love it.

Anthony, on your advice I'm using CorePlayer to play DivX but i find the videos quite pixellated. Any thoughts on that?

                            Hi all,

are you sure which the display is limited to 65k colors by the hardware, or is windows mobile which limit the colors at 65k?

You won't go wrong on that. But if you wanna pay more and get trouble then get HD2. I don't mean that hd2 is bad at all. As for now, it has 2 issues....one hardware and other is software. Hardware should be fixed by HTC and in terms of software, wait for cooked roms. So if u still wanna buy hd2, my suggestion is hold off your purchase...wait for sometimes.

MP phone addict, 26 Nov 20093. There is not perfect phone. You are right, there is n... moreI looked at the “marking place” from where I am in the world there is about 30 app under categories. Most are free some are paid. The ones that were of interest to me it already had web site that have better programs that do the same thing/more for free, that not on the market place.
eg. Most people know shazam right? Well that is there… full version free to try for 7 days then it gets restricted to limited usage and features. If you don’t pay to upgrade.
But off of the “market place” you can get “midomi” does the same thing as shazam and it even has a sing, hum, or whistle mode. If you are trying to get info or buy a song that is not playing any ware. And it links to “amazon” to buy the tracks.
They have tracking software on the “market place” for free but there are better ones off the market place for free also.
So in my opinion the “market place” has a long way to go before if will catch up to what you can get on the outside for wm.
