i dont know why you people are saying that the camera is poor. it has one of the best pics and video-recording i have ever done with a mobile.

When I first saw this phone I thought WOW! the ultimate phone wit gr8 screen i was thinkin in terms of media userbility but poor cam, poor video recordin, poor sound, is there a support in browser 4 real flash? Anyway htc r mor business type phones jus thought wit this massive screen best media wud be integrated.Hope x10 dnt disappoint where media is concerned.

This phone is hot! I love it...I wish there was a way to have a display on the screen telling me that I have new messages rather than that little thing at the top of the screen. Same for missed calls....otherwise it works and looks great, very fast. I not getting the HTC sense facebook thing to work quickly thouhg...dunno why. It worked the first day.

this is a good phone because:
          multi tasking
          448 mb ram
          snapdragon cpu
          4.3 capacitive wvga screen
but i think x10 can kill hd2 because
          android os
          better camera
          better video
          better camera features
          better battery
          scratch resistant display
          stereo speakers
          tv-out
          open gl
          secondary camera
          more modern media center

Just got the HD2 after what seemed a very long wait!
Out of the box it looks great.
                But....
                I am dissoppointed!
It's too big to be a daily use business phone.
If you have big fingers forget it the keyboard just doesnt cope well.
During setup the drop down menus are a nightmare without a stylus
Reviews rave about the interface being great, I dont like it. I like the windows based interface I use on my HTC diamond it is much better for business use. If I wanted an iphone type interface I would buy one so why try so hard to copy it?
With older versions you could switch between the touch flo screen and windows on this I can't.
I went to the o2 shop today to test the difference between the iphone keyboard & the HD2, the iphone won hands down (no pun intended!) half the words I typed on the HD2 went wrong whereas NONE of the iphones went wrong. I write sms/emails & notes constantly I dont have time to mess around with correction.

So does this mean I have to stick with my old HTC diamond that has it,s problems when recieving/making calls (my ears write notes and dial numbers!) or do I just get an IPHONE????

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2009WinMo is suckest OS. Microsoft should not make WinMobile. ... moreiPhone is for basic users not advanced ones. not supporting multi-tasking enough to laugh at. even sympion OS does support it.

I have some questions for the GSMArena team concerning some of the HD 2 features: First of all, is there an option to enable full-flash support in a multi-touch browser for example Opera, and how?, second, is there any hope for a firmware update that will correct the camera quality, and last but certainly not the least, will the HTC by any chance allow a free LEGAL update to WM 7 when it comes out for the HD 2?

For me each one serves a purpose. If I had to choose one? I would be TOUGH, because the Omnia 2 has features the HD2 doesn't, and vise versa. I would go with the HD2, slightly over the Omnia 2..........

                              A couple of comments....

Firstly, I think the reviewer is mistaken when he states that the maps for co-pilot live 8 can only be installed on the onboard memory. The product website quite clearly states that the maps can be installed on a microSD card. It would be a bit pointless if this wasn't the case!!!

Secondly, numerous websites state and confirm that the HD2 does infact play divX / Xvid files.

Anthony, 19 Nov 2009Thanks for the Per (square) inch correction. I don’t disag... moreSee you are missing the point again.

I don't want to be heard saying that HD2 has a ridiculous non functional display meant only to enlarge the size of not only its own handset but also the future market competing handsets or increase the sale of bluetooth headsets.

I have nothing against HTC or HD2 but I just say that this is not a ground breaking handset but only a enlarged assembled piece.
The only work HTC has done is in its UI and that is the bone of contention.

WinMo might have a WVGA maximum resolution but with Touch sense a user will hardly use windows 6.5 UI. They could have pushed the OS in the background and sold the phone completely on their own UI without a winMo interface. This required them to work a little more on Sense.
With more resolution display this phone then could have truly been High Definition.
And yes, regarding what you said about VGA resolution TV broadcast viewed by potential HD2 buyers on 52" LCDs, do you really think that this is how the future devices should be?
