What you want to do is have your phone dual boot WM6.5/Android
That’s how I have my phone now. (Lets me watch streaming movies in android and do all the rest in windows mobile.)
What you need
1. ActiveSync (if you have the Win XP)
2. WMDC (if you have Vista or Win 7) there is a 32bit and 64bit version
3. HSPL (HSPL2 will do the trick)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
4. ROMs Radio Version 2.15.50.14
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
5. Android ROM (SD version) this is the link to the one I use
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
6. 7zip
7. An SD card with more than 2GB free (the higher the class the smother Android will run.)
When you have it all let me know.
Note dual boot is not the best way to experience Android but it will let you still have WM6.5 to use.
If you truly like Android you should to a NAND Android installation.

[deleted post]It is best to have HTC replace the screen for a fee.
But if you really want to repair at your own risk check out the links below.

Cost my wife about $240US to ship hers to the United States and have the entire screen assembly change because of water damage by HTC.

Safety first people. Don't use last 24nand when installing wp7 on your beloved HD2. Maybe similar goes for Android on Nand. Serious concerns over this in xda forums with some bricks being reported. Hate to be reporting bad info.

                I've already used it.

Anybody with a way to get it disabled?

                          1. WP7 will not activate on your HD2 so any feature that needs a live ID will not work.
So the only real reason to try WP7 on your HD2 is just as a teaser to help you decide if you want to buy a WP7 phone or not. But in the end, that live ID activation is so important to so many cool things. You will see no point in keeping WP7 on your HD2.

                          2. I was only able to get it to detect the original 2GB SD that came with the phone. My 16GB SD that I use now was not compatible.

Bugs in a NAND Android is dependant on which ROM you install. And I can’t tell you which is the best NAND Android because I have only tried one NAND Android ROM. (I’m A SD Android user because I need to use WinMo everyday.)

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2011Dear Anthony i got another question. in the XDA page u ref... more3.14.XXX.X is the most up-to-date ROM for the HD2 and much better than 1.66.XXX.X
Not only did it fix known bugs in 1.66 it also updated parts of the U.I.

It may be the last ROM HTC makes for the HD2 as it is a discontinued phone now.

The problem for you is, your ROM is X.XX.707.X and the one you want to use is X.XX.405.X they are not a match and your phone SPL would block the installation.

The work around for that would be to install a matching HSPL to replace your SPL and that would allow you to install any WIN MO 6.5 ROM you like.
Problem is the SPL that comes with 3.14 ROMs is a 3.03 version and are more advanced than the HSPL version 3 and back. So using any of those old HSPL on a 3.14 ROM only makes it very glitchy and some people even lose some ROM storage space.

There is a HSPL 4 that claims to work well as a SPL replacement for 3.14ROMs but every one I have tried to download, My Norton Anti-virus have found viruses in them.

So I you use that option, you do it at your own risk.

Note: if you happen to find a 3.14.707.1 or 3.14.707.2 ROM for the HD2 that one will be a perfect match as a upgrade to your Original ROM.
