Anonymous, 13 Aug 2011DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!!! 1st-battery life sucks! u need to ... moreyou just had a bad unit....
both my wife and i have HD2's and don't plan to replace it any time soon.
i got mine when i just came out (1.43 ROM batch) she has hers just over a year (1.66 ROM batch) i do theup keeping of both so that have been upgraded to 3.14 ROMs

true battery life is not great but am yet to see a next phone that has the same spec last any longer... you want long lasting battery you got to get a basic or a media phone..

crashing on a none defective HD2 is caused by badly written 3rd party apps and lack of the 10% free space on internal storage.

heat is common on all smart phones with a CPU that fast but a body that thin. laptop with 1ghz CPUs have cooling fans see any space for a cooling fan in a phone? CPU heat has to go some where...

but i do agree don't by this phone now is it's outdated. don't know how much time it's got left before it gets left behind by newer phones.

bty. i stepped on my phone and cracked the display last year and HTC fixed it for free. and it didn't have to go back after that.

the help desk behave like brain dead people, but repairs do there job. LOL.

                DON'T BUY THIS PHONE!!!
1st-battery life sucks! u need to charge 2 to 3 times a day if u'r frequently on calls or net browsing.
2nd-d screen often hangs. u need to reboot the fon agen & agen & agen.
3rd-it heats up if u r net browsing even for awhile and if u r on long calls.
4th-had it repaired to HTC service center 3 times in less than 6 months.. breakdown in every two months on the average plus repair time of up to 3 weeks, ergo, usage time between failure is up to 5 weeks on d average..
5th-after the 1 year expiry of the warranty, i had to smash it on the wall after the screen went blank and never rebooted...
SO, thats why i recommend NEVER TO BUY THIS FON!!!

There is an 1550mAh battery for it. My friend has an HD2 and has bought that battery on eBay. He says that is hold 2 day of pretty heavy usage.

2 laptops died at home in a 1 week period.
Not a PC in the house now.
So I am actually using Andoid on my SD more now.
The HD2 is the only device I can watch my online streaming movies on now.
And surprisingly AmeriCan Android SD 2.3.5 is not as slow as other SD Android I have used in the past with my class4 SD

The HD2 has the GPS hardware but no free turn by turn navigation software. So you will still have to pay money to get that. The CoPilot it comes with is a trial.
I use Garmin Mobile XT for turn by turn
As for a good free map that dose not do turn by turn most places that you can still see your GPS location it comes with googleMaps (needs a data plan to you the map from google. LOL)
