I have the phone for 4 days now and I am impressed. The only thing that bothered me before finally chosing it was the reports of lag and I am happy to see that the lag not at all a problem. Yes, some animations might skip but it is not affecting usability. Moreover, with the help of a task killer application (there are several free on the market) you can easily dispose of apps and keep your phone memory and cpu free.

As far as the features - there could be only one word: impressive. And if you are a Linux/OpenSource fan, there are lots of things for you in this phone:)

      There are few weakness i found out are
      No secondary camera needed for video call
      Only 65k colourscreen which should be 16 millon colours
      Camera is without flash
      If htc improves on these fetures this phone will real hero
      A big hit hero.

        Good day all

        I really would like to buy android phone, but can anyone advise me if I should pick up this htc hero or shall I take samsung i7500 galaxy over this phone

        samsung i7500 has the following advantages over the htc hero:
        1- AMOLED screen with 16 million color
        2- bigger battery capacity 1500 mah
        3- flash led for the camera

        however, the htc hero has only one advantage over the samsung i7500 that it has better look than the samsung i7500

        any more advantages guys for htc hero, can anyone advise me if i missed something ??

          i've recently bought this phone unlocked from amazon and put in a pay as you go sim card from 3 Mobile in the UK, however it says i'm roaming for some reason... does anyone know why? could it possibly be because htc hero isn't available to purchase from the range of 3 Mobile mobile phones? But i can't see how this can be the reason cause it's unlocked...

              Now all my videos stream great, picture and audio syncs and its smooth however i do use a program called "total video converter"
              I convert the file to a:
              DivX/AVI (Audio volume 255, original bit rate, original frame rate, video codec Mpeg4, video bit rate 2440).
              Yes the files may become slightly larger but easily solvable with a decent size card, hope this helps

                              I plan to buy a PDA and think HTC Hero would be the right choice.
