I had my unlocked TC for about 10 days, it drove me bonkers! On the first two days I was like a boy with a new toy, then I begun to get to know it and I disliked it. Shame as all the hype and reviews made me buy it. DeviceWire were brilliant giving me 100% refund (Thanks).
Not being used to Windows Mobile was the main problem (gimme a Symbian anyday) and I found it fiddly hunting for received files rather than them available in front on me!
Using the camera was another downside, the device slept as I pressed the key, then it woke up thinking; "ah, he;s got his finger on my cam button, maybe he want to take a photo", it would then wait a few seconds and then take the pic. Not exactly instantaneous! Then the photo would be deleted if not 'saved' and getting photos on to the 8GB card I bought - not straight forward at all.
Am afraid this was one BIG disappointment all round. I've gone back to the old faithful - Motorola A1000.
Despite the above, the finish was sound with a quality feel, I like the instant weather forecast, the size and weight a big plus also. The TC found Hutchinson 3G with no problems, (3 told me it would not work, how wrong they were) and it surfed their web and the whole web effortlessly as did with my Vodafone card. But the bottom line was there were too many tiny inadequacies that built into a compete disappointment. I've gone to SE and await a P1i.

I wonder why there are lots of people asking sort of things, while after I read the User Manual I can see that it answers most of those questions. Are the people posting questions here really reading? .. and really reviewing? There is this question about keyboard or something. When you go to a menu that requires writing something, an input panel will pop-up on the screen which allows you to input the information in 6 (yes you read it right, SIX) different ways. What are those? Please read the manual.

I am thinking of getting this phone for AT&T service in the bay area,ca. Has anyone had experience with this phone on AT&T's hsdpa? Fast or slow? Also is there any type of keyboard available? A touchscreen one like Apple's iphone? How would you send texts and emails? Also wat browser does it use? When you turn the phone sideways will the browser turn as well, when viewing an internet page?

I just read its specs and review and there is no word mentioned on whether it records phone conversation. I do not understand how can you review phone and keep silent on such important feature, probably some kids write these reviews but hey they noticed no keyboard ! That is important ! I heard most HTCs are cheap made and do not offer phone conversation recording. Most higher end models from SE and Nokias do.

I got the phone for a bit less than 2 months (got it 27 Dec 2007). The device is nice, sleek and sexy, BUT if you`ve been living under a rock and haven`t heard of the htc class action, you should check it on google, seems like the pretty little htc touch cruise isnt using everything under the bonnet ... or in other words, its like getting a nice 400 horse power sports car with limited speed to 100 kmph. How disappointing, htc shame on you.

I love it. I will never look at any SE or Nokia anymore,
If you are concerned about paint pealing of, just put a screen protector sheet on the button. I did that and its working beautifully.

This is a pocket PC and not a camera. Obviously even if a flash light is introduced, the phone would have become more bulky.
BTW: if you need flash light go for Nokia N82. It comes with high quality xeon flash light.
Other phones does come with a LED flash light which is very similar to not having flash light.
