In my opinion HTC Touch HD is complete wi... moreYou do have some valid points about roms. but I have some points for the next side. HTC is in a money making business. So they listen to complaints people have of the current model and then bring out a new model as a solution, thus making more money. (Take the diamond and the diamond 2 for example). but most of us not going to buy a new phone, every time a new phone comes out. So some cooked roms give you the interface of the new phone (with the solution to your interface problems) without having to buy the new phone.
and yes htc can make all the roms as you said and give it for free but there is no money in that. They want you to buy a new phone. I'm only going to buy a new phone for a major hardware change not software change. when you look at two phones like the diamond2 and the HD the major difference is not hardware but software. so I'll go with a cooked rom that gives me that change instead of buying a new phone. and you know htc will never give you the diamond2 interface for your HD in there rom update.

In my opinion HTC Touch HD is complete wi... moreMy friend, you have it all wrong, all custom ROMs are based from the official ones, if there were bugs and errors from official ROMs the cookers would fix and mix..
Official ROMs takes time to come out and fix the bug issues where users keep waiting for 2 to 4 maybe 6 months..
Cookers are using HTCs great HD official ROMs so don't worry about it.. ;)
They also use Diamond 2 ROM now, which i think you already know about..

Hello everyone
In my opinion HTC Touch HD is complete windows mobile phone,what we need in a Pocket PC everything is there in Touch HD,though its a Office mobile or editing the documents.,A 5 MP Camera,Nice signal strength,nice music,nice speaker and above all nice battery life 1350 mAh battery works complete 3 days.
what i want to say is that, this is a mobile phone cum pocket pc not a video game console,like so many guys have damaged their Touch Hd's installing diffrent diffrent kind of ROM's from third party.better to go with the official ROM available on HTC sites.,they are the makers of this great phone ,i understand regarding applications like dictionaries gps softwares and other useful utilities we have to relay on third parties.
what all of you think that HTC cant make all these ROM's which are available through third parties????,they can :) ,but the thing is they go for the softwares which are stable and easy to use.so better go for the official upgrades ,insted of third parties unstable and useless ROM's

Hi all..
I'm from middel east I brought my touch HD from UK and I unlock it to install Arabic.. Now the major problem is it Jam?? and I have to waite for second and sometime I switch it off..
The second problem is the color of the phone change but to remove it I have to press the lock twice.
Can someone HELP ME..

The HD has 288mb of ram to run programs and with touchflo 3D off, the HD uses 35% of that ram just to run with windows mobile 6.1(that’s about 100mb).
With touchflo 3D on, it will use more, just like the interface on the ACER M900.
If the ACER only has 128mb of ram and it’s using the same windows mobile 6.1 as a Touch HD, ram usage would be about the same. Leaving it just about 28mb of ram to run others programs. It is also known that when ram goes under 10% free in windows mobile phones, they becomes unstable. so a phone with 128mb for ram needs at list 12.8mb to stay free at all times to prevent crashing. Now, with the windows mobile 6.1 os and the need to leave 12.8mb free at all times, you will only have 15.2mb of ram for running programs. So big files would be slow to work with or may not open at all.

i M iNTERESTED in acer m 900 , only thing which is worrying me is 128 MB Ram , 256 MB Rom, what difference does it make . I use mainly for browsing , n reading ,word doc, pdf, excel, n watching videos, i compared with pro 2 but confused , as m900 has 3.8 screen , 90 dollars less compared to pro 2. , has 5 mp camera. Your suggestion wil b appreciated. Thanks.

Regarding the Battery life between the 1350mAh and the 1500mAh.. The 1500mAh has 6-8 hours more..

48 hours has passed since i've charged the 1500mAh battery, and i'm at precisely 49%.. So you can say it has 4 days of battery life with normal usage of Wi-fi, browsing, file exploring and some multimedia, SMS and 10 - 15 phone calls..
I'll see how fast the rest of 49% will drain and i'll post it here..

Hi I recently synched my HTC HD with the PC outlook 2007 for the first time. I saw all the e-mails from the PC were transferred to the HTC. I cannot send or receive an e-mail though( I do have the internet connection so that is not it).
Does this mean that I need to set up e-mail settings or was this done during the synch?
Any help is appreciated.

I thought you had that problem even after a hard-reset.. Roms usually get flashed not perfectly.. That's why you need to Hard-reset your device once or twice..
And regarding the Memory card, if you haven't fixed that issue yet, just try using another card and see if it fits ok...

I think before judging, i should wait till the 1500mAh battery is fully discharged then come up with how many days it took to discharge.. Only 150mAh difference between them, so does it matter?.. I'll just update you guys with the life difference.. =P
