i'm frm s'pore and recently i thking to get hd too...
can some one out there tell mi tis both gd and bad pts...
like sound and battery life etc...
cux currently i'm using diamond touch...
and i dun realli lite tis due to the sound and battery..
pls reply to feedback mi...

Mine has a white bar instead of a grey bar that's why i can't read what i'm typing since like you said the letters are written in white color.. I can only see them if i hightlight the bar.. So its obviously one of the 3rd apps i keep installing after every new rom flash that's doing this.. :-)

I picked (yes create new contact)
new contact came up in new touch flo style.
I picked first name.
keyboard came up with gray bar above. the bar has a tab that says first, and to the left a button with a arrow with a X in it. as I type the name it show in the bar (white text on gray bar)
when I'm done I hit the enter key then "ok"
the keyboard goes away and the name is in the name field.
I pick the number type and a picture I like to use till I can get a pic of the person.
I then tap on more to tell it to file with first name first. (more took me to the un-skined contact)
ever thing worked just fine.

Anthony, 08 Jun 2009no I'm not having that problem. maybe you should do a hard ... moreCome on, this is insane, i use Dutty's Rom from v2.1 till 3.7XT and i have the same problem when i want to create a new contact.. Try it, when you get a phone call from a strange number, it asks after the call if you wanna save contact, tap create new, then type the name, you can notice that when you're typing, the suggestion words above keyboards are invisible.. The First and Last Name field is fine though..
If its fine there with you, then there must be some 3rd party app that i add and it messes things up..
I hope i'm more clear now.. :-)

I also read you should use sync to put your contacts back on your phone and not the backup program because from rom version to version things change and bringing some things back from a backup cause problems.

Anthony, 07 Jun 2009I don't know what sms problem. my sms and mms work just fine.Anthony, it seems that all the Dutty Rom from Topaz has the same issue where when you want to save a new contact and type the name, you can't see what you're typing unless you highlight it.. Let me know if you've got this issue too...

i updated my ROM version from 1.14 EUROPE to 1.54 EUROPE,Google maps comes default along with new verison rest theres no change everything almost same.though the previous version is also very stable ,but its better to go with the latest ROM
i'm living and using my TOUCH HD in dubai,with ROM Update of EUROPE REGION and it works perfect

i dont know either but i guess there is some sort of an SMS issue with previous roms occured for some users so ill give a try with this version since incase any issues occurs or something ..

i guess that this version RUU_Duttys_V3.7_XT_MV2.1
which includes the manilla 2.1 is the best version to give it a try with since it is supposed to fix somesort of an SMS issue + containing the latest updates from the other 3 versions ..

I don't work for htc. I work in a Architectural office. I just like the phone because it gets the job done and I have to walk with my laptop less. I come here to see what new I can learn about the phone or what new there is for the phone. I help because I can, and when I need help I hope I'll get too.
this version of opera does not play flash video in it. but I have read that it is being worked on for a upcoming version. for now you will have to use the video streamer.

Thank you very much for the quick feedback. I think i am convinced now to take this phone. I guess we would never be able to keep up with the technology. I han a Nokia N95 before - break down twice during the contract period and had a serious battle every time i had to get it fixed. Been using Nokia phones the past 15 years and so put off by their after sale service that i don't have the courage to go for a Nokia again. o from coming week i am a HTC Fan !

I think i'll stick with this phone till next year.. So yeah, you can go for it if you want.. unless you wanna wait a while, cause you don't know how the market works, next thing you know, another Windows mobile phone with a 8 or 12 mega pixel camera and 1.3GHz prcessor comes out..
