Wanna ask you something,as you said that official EUROPE ROM you dont know wheather it works in middle east or not,but i want to tell you something while downloading official ROM from HTC website we have to write some serial no. code then only we can proceed to download right
so what i want to tell you is that code doesnt work in any other region like middle east or asia it works with europe only ,it means i already using europe hanset right but i purchased from dubai,i dont go for unlocking the phone also,so can i go for EUROPE ROM update?????????

And I did the HSPL way because I was easier to me. You will only have to unlock once. Not every time a new rom comes out.

My phone was from UK (Orange). I had to unlock it because it wasn't working here in Bahrain.
But the reason i'm recommending these updates is to install cooked Roms where you can do whatever you want with your phone. Battery life will last long too..
Please go through the previous 10 to 15 posts to understand what's going on..

Hi I also have the same question about ROM update
like i bought my Touch HD in Dubai,its in English Language infact i want to use english only.
what i want to know is when i go to HTC website to update my rom it is showing ROM Update EUROPE
so can i go with this EUROPE update though i'm living in Dubai,or is there any specific ROM update for MIDDLE EAST ???????
plsssss guide me brothers so that i can do my ROm Update,
anyway the ROM version which i'm using now is 1.14
it is working very nice and battery also work for 2 and half days ,but then also i want to update ,and can anybody tell is some new features added in new ROm Update

zak, 06 Jun 2009perfect ... so at the HTC web site .. they are showing ho... moreGo ahead and install what you found. Your phone is locked so you can install your region's rom, so don't worry about USPL now.. Use USPL after you install the UPDATED official rom to install cooked roms.

they are showing how to update their official released rom may i use their way or their software to update the rom to the latest release and then USE USPL and your way to flash the DUTTY rom or i have to use USPL to flash the official rom and then the DUTTY ?

zak, 05 Jun 2009my last question is about is it really worth to install tho... moreFirst you have to check if your Rom is updated to the latest one, if not go to the official website and look for the latest one. 1.56 or 1.59 i don't know, as long as it is above the 1.56.. You can look for them here too, easier to see depend on your region..

Then when you're done installing official Rom, do the steps i gave you, from turning off your phone and and USPL and so on..

they werent showing in the topic whats the difference between USPL and HSPL i though that you have to use both inorder to install a ROM i didnt realize that both do the same job and you can choose ..
by the way what i have to do now is just to download USPL and the DUTTY ROM follow your steps and VOILLA ???
do you recommend USPL OVER HSPL ?

but may i ask now .... moreWhen you buy Windows phones from different regions, you can't flash(Install) Any Rom unless its from that region. Example (Europe, MiddleEast, North America, Asia.. etc)
For example i live in the Middle East but i bought the HD from UK. It doesn't work here, and i can't install the middle east Rom from the official website. So i unlocked it using HSPL. Now that i unlocked it i can flash(Install) any Rom i want.
SPL:
The one that is stock (When you bought it) It only lets you flash your region Rom and Official ones only
HSPL:
Makes your phone flash(install) any Rom you want.
But it should affect the warranty if the agency found out you unlocked it. You'll have to install SPL again before taking it to service or fixing.
USPL:
It unlocks your phone temporarily just to install any Rom but if you later want to install another Rom you have to run USPL again. And this is recommended because when you take your phone to service, the warranty will still be valid because the colored screen (Boot Loader) will show the official SPL.. :)
1.56+:
Latest Roms.
Phone could not be bricked, not if you have enough battery charge to flash Rom atleast 20 - 30%. Imagine a phone running out of charge while flashing a ROM? It will definitely get bricked.
That's all and i still recommend going through the link i sent you..
