my question is specificaly about the insta... moreWhat's going on? I can't write more than 4 lines here?
Another try:
I'm trying to write step by step here but i don't know why the post isn't showing it.. I'll try again.
The idea is:
You have to run:
HSPL or
USPL (Recommended)
to be able to Flash a cooked ROM.
1- Turn Off your phone by pressing power button for 3 sec while phone is on.
2- Press the Down Volume (Don't let go), then briefly press the power button while Down Vol is still pressed. You'll see a colored screen.
3- Connect to PC, and make sure ActiveSyncs settings has "Allow USB connection" UNCHECKED. You'll see (USB) on the HD's screen below.
4- Run USPL. (If it doesn't run, make sure you turn off anti-virus from PC) You'll then notice that your phone restarted and showed you the USPL version above.
5- Run the cooked Rom.

dear readers ..
my question is specificaly about the installation of one of the cooked roms i checked the steps at the XDA developers forum but i guess the guide was mainly made for those who are already familiar with the procedure and unfortunatley yet im not and im not from the kind who can just follow specific steps i had to understand in order to proceed so any one can help im pretty confused about the set of procedures and the codes used whether in unlocking or installing a new rom like DUTTY which is the most famous ..
i cant even figure out from where to start and im afraid to brick the device honestly i dont want to take the risk ..
so if any one can place me on the right lane ill be very grateful ..
thanks for your time...

Rosalind, 04 Jun 2009Hi Anthony,
I've found a faster solution to editing of t... moreYes that is faster. But the way I was telling you about would have let you keep the first name in the first name field and the last name in the last name field and so on. For example, if a contact name was John Hancock and he worked in a company called (Pens are Us)
With all the names in the right field you could have gone in "file as" field in that contact on the phone or outlook and pick to have it field as
1.Hancock, John
2.John Hancock
3.Pens are Us
4.Hancock, John (Pens are Us)
5.(Pens are Us) Hancock, John
Go in one of your contact pick edit contact and give it a try. You may still not use it but you should at list know about it.
It is most handy for a food delivery numbers or business where you don’t deal with just one person or you don’t even have a person’s name. You can file by the company name without having to put the name in the first or last name field of a person. And when you have to send a contact to a next phone over Bluetooth, the other person will not get the names in the wrong fields. Filters will also work the right way.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970HD Samsung Omnia is a full multimedia phone with Symbian.. But be careful, since Symbian has limitations when it comes to modifiying and upgrading and having an exciting time with your device..
The Touch HD is windows based which will make you feel that you own a new device every time a ROM or an interesting plug-in comes out and install it.. All you gotta do is unlock the phone and Add a cooked Rom every now and then when they come out with more features and interesting stability and performance..

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I think this choice comes down to which OS you prefer. In terms of what features the phones have they are pretty much the same. Yes the Samsung has a better camera but the Touch HD is a dream to use.

Anthony, 03 Jun 2009the sorting of the names is easy.
1. pick the contact on t... moreHi Anthony,
I've found a faster solution to editing of the names - instead of doing it 500x via Outlook... export the addresses to an xls file (excel spreadsheet). There, it has all the fields - first name, last name etc.
Currently, it seems contacts are listed according to last names - so do a switch, under the fields of Last Name, swap all that (copy) and paste it under the field of First Name, and swap all the fields from First Name to Last Name.
Save the file.
Go back Outlook, delete all the contacts, and then import the new file in - heheeh, and then delete all the contacts in HD, and sync the contacts list again.
You get it perfect if you want people listed under their names instead of surnames. It's much faster than doing it 500x in Outlook! :)
