VT, 29 Dec 2008This is one of the worst pda phone I have ever used. I woul... moreFirstly, there isn't a lot of PDA phones in the market. Calling Symbian or the Iphone a PDA phone is inaccurate. So while you did get the classification correct, I doubt the PDA phone market has enough competition to warrant "worst PDA phone" tag.

Secondly, its not "will not buy a HTC phone" it should probably read "will not buy a WinMo phone" because HTC is looking at Android as well.

Thirdly, it can't be the worst without reasons. Its like saying I don't like the weather... But we don't even know what the weather is.

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2008can any body tel me that shud i go for nokia n96 or htc hd?... moreDepends. If you want touch screen then its a no brainer. If you haven't used touch screen before, suggest you try first. Some people don't like touch interface with their phones.

N96 runs Symbian so its much tighter in terms of software / hardware integration but sacrifices a lot of flexibility. Apps are often 1 dimensional in nature, i.e. Need to Perform A, then do A only. That said, you can get a N96, and maybe 10-15 minutes and you're all set. No need to manage settings, optimization, etc.

With the Touch HD, and Windows Mobile, you can unbox, then 10-15 minutes be ready to roll. But if first time user, then it might take longer to get used to the WinMo quirks. Like the fact X does not close apps merely minimize. Like Windows desktop, you still need to manage folders, sub folders, where you put your files matter (ringtones go to a specific folder), etc. But the upside is, the applications available is better.

In a nut shell, if you're in for a phone that has extra functions and don't care much about touch screen, big screen, WVGA resolution then go for N96. Excellent phone. Screen is big, crisp and bright (as befitting a Nokia phone).

If you're in for a phone that has Windows quirks, touch screen and just like to fiddle and customize the phone, and don't actually mind the added layer of complexity, and want to enjoy videos on the go, then the Touch HD. Just beware if you rely on SMS / texting a lot, the Touch HD has no keypad / keyboard.

But do not forget that some peeps doesn't know that when you close a program it "might be" still open, running background and that is eating memory and extra cpu usage(battery).

look for the option setting that when you close a certain program it literally shot it down.

Anonymous, 29 Dec 2008thanx m56v, can you help me by posting the link to the fix ... morehotfix is on the htc website under support www.htc.com and for screen resolution alot of the major apps are being changed over to WVGA, or there's a fix which you can download called WVGAFIX2 (google it). this basically cuts the screen resolution down to VGA enabling you to run VGA applications, just not QVGA yet, which isn't so much of a problem, I've been using the HD for about weeks now, and have found alot of sources for games and apps
