Guys. All of u is talking about ui. If u had HTC HD just up grade to Duttys WM 6.5 leo r2. U will love to UI interface. N u if got iphone just install a camera at the front for video call. Ok. Good luck.

Nick and me are agree that HTC Touch HD has no comparision on its own family similarly iPhone has its own qualities ... well i had HTC Tytn 2 and i tried to do n number of thing on it but unfortunately it was a bad decision of buying HTC Tytn 2 for me .. but actually if u go and check the opinions of HTC Tytn 2 , most of the people say that it is really a gr8 phone .. so plz dont fight and be like gud frnds ... Nick i think u also agree with me buddy and Dextar chill buddy .. u got a best thing in this world coz u love it ... take care and keep smiling

In work time is money and I work in a Architectural office. if I go on a job site I don't want to write notes on paper and then put them on forms when I get back to the office if I can put it on the form one time. it's a phone made to be used as a work tool. not just a phone, or a media center. that is what I ment by professional use. (not if you smart or not) the only smart phone I can get on contract is the blackberry. no iPhone, no palm, no htc. not that you can't get them. just that you have to pay full price.
I see you're not going to give app names for my list.

And I dont want you to flush your $700 hd into toilet coz of my proof. Just enjoy with wat you have. Time will come automatically to flush into toilet as all windows stuffs whether its pc or phone... in course of time it gets slower & slower!

Its great to have ppl like anthony & dexter in this forum. But one thing, you dont need them if you use iphone 3gs lol coz it never give you troubles and no need going around asking for help.
I'm not personally going after them. I am just simply sick & tired of hearing "IPHONE FOR KIDS AND WINMOB FOR SMART PPL". This makes me crazy.

I also agree with you that by no means Htc hd is not a good phone. If you are a heavy MS office user, hd is to go. You can't blame apple for that coz they belong to same family. Htc hd is by no means touch competitor to iphone. But there should be one winner. Its like two great soccer teams in action. I'd say iphone 3gs is the winner. In the end, Iphone beat htc hd by 1-0 in extra time.

So you gotta be... moreYour Uncle is a Doctor and professional in his field, when i talked about my uncle, he is in the telecommunication industry, but in the end he's just like u, he wanted user-friendly interface with fancy graphics.. When i said PROFESSIONAL i meant in that field (Mobile, telecoms, networking... etc).. That's why even in his position, he wasn't into professional phones, when it comes to system modification.
If you read carefully what i posted earlier i mentioned about the plugin in the today screen.. Search the net for windows 3rd party application plugins and see whether or not windows mobile is indeed the most friendliest user interface phone.. When you buy a PC and install XP, you have nothing in reach at first, but you modify how the system works and how you'd be able to reach things in a faster way.. Modifying the XP desktop to look like MAC is easily possible too.. Its the same thing here, windows is open for you to tweak the system, and when i say tweak not tweak without being aware of the consequences like you mentioned earlier..
I'm happy with windows mobile since my first i-paq that i bought in 2001..
By the way i'm from the middle-east and i'm Arab and people here judge just like the way you do.. I never said we were smart when using windows professional and you all were dumb, you can say i meant that we were smarter and you guys were just smart. Smart to actually use a phone.....

When Athony said PROFESSIONAL he meant some one who is compationate and patient in what they do,have,or doing.
You may not have the patience to tweak or upgrade your phone so you are not being PROFESSIONAL about it.
Not saying you are dumb or anything.
Just means you do not have the ptience for it.

Hi Dextar and Anthony ... i actually agree with NICK .. remember i was planning to buy both iPhone and Touch HD .. well i used both of them for 1 complete day and finnally i ecided to buy iPhone 3GS .. i bought it today's eve ... believe me its nore than fantastic .. wow experience .. its to simple to use but u can n numbers of thing .. i also have Cydia installed on it and woooooo it works like anything ... u can do anything in this absolutly free ... iPhone 3GS has more powerful processer and camera quality is much better than before (however it was good before as well) ... so i m a happy go lucky guy in terms of buying iPhone ... i strongly say that Touch HD is also a good phone and it also has n numbers of features but in iPhone actually u can enjoy things rather than Touch HD ... thanx for all ur suggestions .. thanx buddies ... take care of urself

That means you two guys are superior & smarter than me & other ppl?? There are lots of professionals like Doctors, Lawyers, CEOs etc without a technical background. Does it make them dumb too? I still remember helping my uncle who is a doctor by his profession on how to attach file in email few yrs ago. Does it mean that my uncle is a dumb. He is professional in his field. You also mentioned about your uncle giving up htc hd. In the end who is the loser? Htc & winmob lost one more customer. One more thing, time is MONEY my friend. PPl do not have time to tweak, flashing their mobile phones unless you are a geek by profession or you got nth else to do. There are lots of other imp things to do in life. Phone is just a mode of communication tool. I know all dirty tricks of windows. But it's so frustrating & annoying when sth goes wrong or sth I do not like after tweaking….again reinstalling old stuffs. Its so time-consuming. This is where iphone shines. It does everything smoothly without unnecessary headache. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KEEP WATCHING ENGINE RUNNING IN ORDER TO DRIVE. I often see & hear in forum …iphone is for kids and winmob for smart ppl. What the HELL it means? It's so lame statement.
Lets back to Anthony, I don’t really care where you from. But you are certainly not from USA or China. They are the giant nations where everything happens & counts. Europe is not a single country. As a company, of course they want their products to be successful all over the world but increase or decrease of sale in some small countries do not make much differences in their overall performance. Glad to hear that even homeless person in your country has 2-3 mobile phones. But I think you forgot to mention one thing…that homeless person goes begging on BMW car…right? I'm just wondering where you from man. Pls let me know in your next post. You are certainly not from asia also coz there are not many rich country in asia except japan, singapore & south korea…..and you are not from these countries either.
Regarding price, iphone is way cheaper than hd if you take in contract. Htc HD costs about $700 whereas you can get iphone 3gs for 299 or even $99 for 3g under contract. I don’t know how it works in your country.
Anyway, this debate is never ending process. Its like pc vs mac. If you are happy with htc winmob…just let it be. Do not JUDGE other ppl on the ground of mobile phones they use.

They are all jailbroken because there is no AT&T here(and running hackulous). But still can’t do the things in the list. Give me the names of the apps for the things I called. And then you will be helping. Other than that, it’s just hot air. Pandor does not give my local radio stations. None could send a file to nokia or my HD to date.
You say HTC is jack of all, master of none. But Iphone is lack of plenty, Master of 1. (interface)
You talk about every phone trying to catch the iphone interface. But what about the iphone now trying to get basic cell phone features and still did not get them all. For the price it should blow me out of the water with everything not just interface. Good looks and nothing much to back it up... reminds me of a blond I know.
the HD is far better than the Diamond. It was the first with touchflo 3D. Just like the iphone 3gs is far better than the iphone.
I can work on files because the screen is bigger than the iphone screen and because of the 480x800 pixels count I don't need to zoom in on my page to read what I’m doing. it reads just fine at 50%. Also I’m not at a park in hot sun doing work changes. Most of the time it’s at a job site or in my car when i need to make a quick change. I don’t need 16m colours on a 3.8” screen, what i need is the pixels to see the small details in pictures i take of cracks in walls or any bad work done on the site to make shore the pictures are not out of focus before i get back to the office. I also don’t need 16m to Wright a report or send a site request form, that was done in word .docx format ASAP.
As for your numbers.... where I’m from. As soon as you learn to talk, the first gift you get is a cell phone. Everyone has a cell phone, some have 3. The homeless have cell phones. And sales go like this...... Nokia, no brand dual sim phone, sony, Samsung, Motorola, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Iphone. Iphone is last because for everything you need to do one of the other names can do it and they cost less. For the price of the Iphone, it need to do more than a BlackBerry, palm and HTC for the working man/woman. I’m not spending that money for a toy for my kid to use in the park. The People i know that have the Iphone all still have a second phone. They just like the look and feel of the Iphone. I have no need for a next phone with my HD.

One thing windows mobile has that's actually not mentioned anywhere, is it's today screen, windows brings it up as an ugly interface, but see there is a magic thing behind it called plugin capability.. Have you seen the SPB mobile shell 3.0 plug-in? It gives a hint of how the Tegra runs the apps, and how the interface catches the eyes for the people who falls for the iPhone iterface.. And yes people fell for it, My cousin was about to buy either hTC hero or the iPhone 3GS.. He saw windows plugins feature and the SPB mobile shell 3.0 and forgot about buying them, just for a $30 application!! loollll!!! That's how smart windows is, and how smart people who realizes the capabilities of it.. iPhone will, or Apple as a whole Mac/OSx will and always be those gadgets windows user would buy for their kids, girlfriends and loved ones.. :-)

If you give an 8 year old boy the iPhone he'd be happy with it, but if you give him the HD he'd be lost.. My uncle leads a telecommunication company and always comes up to us with the latest technology, he owns an iPhone, he bought the HD for a week and gave up on it when i just gave him tips of unlocking the device and make it a total iPhone or any phone destroyer, he didn't like the idea and sold it, why?? .. Cause like Anthony mentioned, it's written in the box when you buy it "Windows Mobile PROFESSIONAL".. My uncle is a leader indeed and has a great background in technology, but he isn't a professional, he loves how the iPhone interacts with the user, just graphics, Symbian has huge app stores but doesn't have an iPhone-like user interface.. You can't judge from how windows mobile looks like, it's how the phone actually delivers to you.. And how it does that is you gotta be a professional user, and when i had my first diamond after twaeking the Windows system and running Dutty's cooked Roms, i'm sorry to say that iPhone could never ever stand a chance with its software performance.. My friend who sold the diamond for an iPhone was shocked when he saw what amazing device the Dimond is when i gave him a tour.. it ran faster and more stable than any iPhone..
In this life since forever till today the most famous things are actually really over rated, for example the Playstation, it's the most dominant console, people still think its the best.. but in reality, Xbox and Nintendo are better in gaming, delivers more experience in gaming and has great hardware for gaming.. (Forget blue-ray and multimedia stuff I'm talking gaming).. People just follow what other people do, not read specs and see history releases.. I mean take the Nintendo wii for example, it has the worst hardware in gaming ever. I own a PS3 and an Xbox360, of course i'm only using the PS3 as a blue-ray player, and the Xbox360 to play single & online which is awesome, but the console that i play most is the Wii.. Why? Cause think of "logic". Gaming is why you're buying a console, not "ooohh look at the graphics".. I admire graphics when it combines gameplay with it..
In Motor world, You still see people buying a $90000 car when they can buy a $45000 car that offers more features for the driver and more service offers..
Example of $90000 (Benz,BMW,Lexus....) and a 45000$ car (Cadillac).. The Cadillac offers same features, even having useful features other expensive cars doesn't have, has a 5 year warranty on everything without you paying anything.. So Luxury, comfort and performance, oh and a history behind all..
But people buy what catches the eyes.. not what's inside..

Winmob does not support 16m color.I think being able to read in day time is more important than working on excel file on your tiny screen. Does that make sense?? If somebody works on excel, word on phone...then he/she must be an abnormal.
I'm just saying that dont say iphone is bad without tryin it. Its matter of choice. I used to hate apple product until i used iphone. They recently took survey on iphone owners. 90% said they are happy with iphone and 50% said unhappy with at&t. Numbers don't lie!!! A very simple question, if htc hd is so great then why ppl do not buy it??
Anyway, it just my opinion on iphone. I am not a fanboy. As i said earlier, I will buy htc hd when it comes with tegra or snapdragon processor.
And that time, I expect you two guys, anthony & dexter gonna help me out with tweaking, flashing roms etc. I can see you guys are expert & seem to know inside-out of htc winmobile. Dont take me wrong on iphone. This is the reality.

Have you ever owned swiss knife?? Swiss army knife delivers a multitude of functions but does none of them well. HTC is the same. Jack of all, master of none. HTC did good job with its touchflo to cover up ugly windows to some extend. But again after touchflo, its again the same old outdated ugly windows mobile.
Coming back to your list, i agree there are sth iphone can not do coz of hardware limitation....eg like making video call, dual sim card. On software side you can do everything you mentioned if you jailbreak your iphone. Its sth like flashing your rom. You can do endless things with jailbreak. I can do tethering, bluetooth file transfer, change themes etc. Opening & editing ms excel, for that there's apps in itune. You need to buy. For fm there is pandora.
I strongly suggest you go to apple apps store once and then talk to me. Thousands of apps you can find there.
I dont want to say bad things about htc in its forum. But as i told you, i'd htc diamond before. It cant even do simple things without hang-up. I was tired of removing back cover & taking out battery and restart again. Most annoying thing with diamond was....when i needed the most or in emergency, it does not work. Wats the use of phone when u can not dial when u need to. After using iphone, I dont think i can get back to any other phone. Its so simple, fast, ease of use and the best UI. Thats the reason, apple sold millions of iphone around the world and every damn new touch-phone coming out in the market with a name "Iphone Killer".
One more thing, how long htc been making phone?? Look at iphone, its just 3 yrs old and see how it dominated & revolutionized mobile phones. You guys gotta thank to iphone for its touch screen & UI. All other companies are trying to get closure with iphone when it comes to touch screen.
Having said all that, I often come to htc page to check if there's anything new. I really love this htc hd for its large screen & design. I really like to use stylus for taking down quick notes ..just like pen. I'm just waiting for new htc hd with snapdragon or tegra processor with winmobile 6.5 or 7. I work lot on outlook & ms office..so it'd be great to have winmobile for me.
Only thing i dont like about iphone is its design..i mean looks like kid's toy. Its well built but designed for young ppl. I really love the looks of HTC hd...it looks serious business man phone.
