hello, how can i change the language in the phone system? i bought my telephone in Mockow and language and all set-up is in russian. i need the english. can anyone help me? Thanks

I really appriciate it and i m actually convenced with your answer. I decided to buy an iPhone as well as HTC Touch HD and i going to buy them tommorow. Well i will use both of them and then i will give u my suggestions as well. By the way i work in Microsoft as a Technical manager so i can understand abt the Microsoft Windows Mobile. I also had a word with Windows MObile 6.5 dept and they said that its touch is also good. well let c wht comes up aftr using both of them. By the way thanx a lot again ... take care

I love the specs but not having 3g is killing me.

I don't know in what language i should thank you for the great list of things hTC/Win can do and the iPhone doesn't..

I replied to Nick but the Moderators didn't accept my post to be posted.. I'm sure there was nothing wrong with what i've said..

This is what i wrote, hoping it'll be posted..

"You keep saying that iPhone is better than hTC, i thought you owned one and hated it then went for the iPhone, but in the end you said you never used the HD.. Well atleast i know better; I've used the iPhone its a great phone, but it's exactly what Symbian does except with a very very friendly touch screen.. The 3GS is the best of all iPhones..
My touch HD had a horrible camera, but after updating to the Diamond 2 Software on my HD, the quality improved.. Now Manila 2.6 is out, the camera and video capture has improved thanks to hTC Leo's software.. And guess what, the operating system from Diamond 2, Pro 2 and Leo are updated in my HD so its like buying 4 phones.. I still haven't mentioned the experience in windows 6.5.. Alot of things has improved in my HD and it's a different phone from when it was stock thanks to Microsoft and hTC and of course our friends from xda-developers..

You can use your iPhone, but you can never tweak it the way you want it..."

I’m just saying that the HD is more suited for the work place. Not everyone is going to need that so not everyone is going to need a HD. I know people that just want to make calls, mms/sms and listen to music. A sony walkman did that for them. They not going to spend the money on a HD or a Iphone, just to do that. So know what you want the phone for and make a choice then. That is what I was telling Himanshu

Anthony,do you think the Touch HD has the 850 3g band built in but is locked?
I did a little research and found out that HTC did the same thing with the Diamond.
It had 850 3g band built in but was locked by the software.

I don’t use the video calls because there is no 3G here, but there are other people that would. But I do use the front cam to take the self portrait pictures with me at the location instead of guessing where I am in the shot

Can you play divx?
Can you record phone call?
Can you filter call logs by contact so you can bill for your time?
Can you edit .xlsx files?
Can you send a file to a next device using Bluetooth?
Can you mms to a none iphone?
Can you change your Full QWERTY key board to Compact or P/Keypad if you like that more?
Does it have hand weighting recognition that works anywhere that the QWERTY works?
With all that storage space can you use it as a flash drive without having to install iTunes or some 3rd party software?
Can you take notes while you’re in a call and have it auto tagged with the caller number name time a date?
Can you have your work calendar auto sync with outlook over Bluetooth?
Can you even do it the usb way?
Can you use any slandered mini usb Data cable to get work files or any files to/from the phone if you left your data cable at home?
Do you have a call card scanner to get call card info into your contacts without having to enter them by hand?
Can you install a dual sim so you can use two sims from two different carriers in the one phone at the same time?
(You may ask why you will want to do that..... well; I have a data sim from one cell comp. With unlimited data and I use a sim from a next cell comp. for voice calls. I don’t like swapping out sims to use them. And some of my friends have a phone the office gave them and they have their personal phone but don’t like carrying two phones)
My friends with iphones, calls don’t sound as clean. And can’t get Calles or send text indoors in some places that I do.
These are the things I use in a work day. It can’t burn or play a DVD/CD or run Revit so that’s when I need my PC. The rest was replaced by the phone. HTC HD does all the above. If the Iphone can do any of the above, let me know which ones and how it’s done because my friends with the Iphones would love to know how to do it.

To Dexter & Anthony,

I own jailbroken iphone 3gs. Tell me one thing wat iphone can not do wat HTC can? Tell me what is business phone?? Wat the hell is mulitasking in cell phone?? No matter wat kind of mobile phone you have, it will never replace computer or laptop coz of its screen size. Have you ever tried iphone???
1) Call quality, reception ...basic stuffs...all far better than htc.
2)Regarding touch screen & user interface..it makes me laugh ..don't even come to close with iphone.
3)Browser....again make me laugh. Iphone has the best browser.
4)And I dont need to tell you guys about apple apps. Thousands of apps and billions of download...record breaker.
5)Camera...even though it has 3mp..it's far better than 5mp in htc and again dont need to tell you about video capability.

List goes on. But in the end of the day..it is just a mobile phone....cant replace your laptop. Having said that, iphone is the best & truly the one & only smart phone in the market.

One more thing i am not a iphone fan. I use pc but have iphone. And I used to own htc diamond. I dont know about htc hd coz i never used. I am telling all this from my experience of diamond. I'm happy that i got rid of this damn phone.

Himanshu, 31 Aug 2009Thanx for your reply Dexter .. i really appriciate it .. i ... moreI agree with Anthony, but once you upgrade the OS from 6.1 to 6.5 that's where you'll find out that windows is actually being much more user friendly than any phone, plus there will be a screen update for windows 6.5 to make the screen of type "capacitive" which will make all touch screen devices try to compete, which will also make companies work double shifts to develop something as extraordinary as the (hTC/Microsoft) combination..

But then again most people fall for the iPhone, it catches the eyes from the graphics and touch interface and not actually knowing what they're missing..

The HTC Touch HD is not just for business but was made with the business user in mind; it said so in the OS name (Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional). For a person that just wants to make basic calls, play games or own a Mac. By all means buy and iPhone. It has what you need and nothing more. But if a phone is more than just something you use to make calls and you’re looking for something that is more like a mini PC (not mac) that can make calls as well, then the HTC Touch HD is the way to go.
Call quality and functionality is better on the HTC Touch HD as well, that is why I said basic calls for the iphone.
