Firsty, while this phone has it's short comings (no video acceleration etc) it is a very respectable business phone.

I would suggest however, that anyone looking at buying one of these ensures that it comes with WinMobile 6.1 ROM installed. I recently upgraded mine from the original 6.0 stock ROM to 6.1 and the difference is night and day.

Battery life has improved with the new radio version and video update when using the keyboard is markedly improved.

    If you are thinking about buying this phone or by any chance comparing platforms, check my comments under opinion @ htc advantage x7510.

    I have both this phone and the Nokia E90, sincerely you DO NOT want to compare them, this is the communicator, the E90 is a big phone for text messaging, which an E66 or N95 -8G will do, but if you want a communicator to make your life simply amazing and give you more value for your money, if you want a computer in your pocket that will make your laptop a secondary machine, buy this phone.

    people talk about the battery;

    I had the GPRS all day on the E90 with all the online tools on it , it died by evening. I did the same with the TyTN II, it was on till the next morning. %( 8(# be deceived, there are more software for this phone than you can imagine. the reason your battery will die is that you are so sunk in this phone that you simply cant get your hands off it.

    I just installed the new Opera off the HTC suports site, its simply Magic. I have the Palringo chat software for it too, that keeps you hypnotised. Also there is Yaho Go for this phone, its simply perfect and complete, just get a spare batter or even 2. most importantly, just use the internet sharing and you will be dazed by the speed your laptop or PC will be running through webpages.

    I installed palringo on the E0 - completely a pain to use, they dont even have yaho messenger or yaho go for the Nokia, its a disaster.

    For the Blackberry users;
    THis phone makes your curve or bold lok very stupid as it handles the blackberry software very well, with attachment handling better than the blackberry handsets , just try and compare after installing the blackberry software on it. For the E90, I could not browse through blackberry and could not handle attachments - It was a waste of money.

    Please dont waste your time or money, if you want a communicator, buy this handset. the 4 inch screen on the nokia is hopeless without a tuchscreen - I know this because I have it right here. Its just an SMS box now.

    Hope this helps.

                      how will i establish the ISC??

                      the modem really will only run 56k?? WTF??

                        got the t-mobile mda vario 3 to replace sony erricson/ipaq 5550/tomtom sat nav.

                        as a sat nav. running tomtom 6. TTFF can be a little slow (upto 60secs) in use is excellent.

                        as a phone. slight pain after dialling, backlight goes out and is then a bit fiddly to get into speakerphone mode. the shortcuts on the home screen are a nice touch though.

                        as a PDA. WM 6 is adequate but you really need SPB pocket plus software and a decent browser. As with all MS O/S's, I'm assuming it's bloatware as the ipaq performed faster. SPB allows programs to be shut down when the 'x' is pressed, this helps a lot. the features consume immense battery power but if you are using a pda as a pda should be used it will be connected to your pc when at your desk (and charging), it will be connected to an active holder in your car (using sat nav and charging) and will be connected to its charger when your sat at home with your feet up!

                        as a general communication device. Excellent! cannot fault it - bluetooth, wifi, HSDPA - all work seamlessly.

                        Would i recommend it - YES, but with one word of caution. Setting up is not for the faint hearted!

                        All in all, I love the thing. if it was taken away from me now (after 9 months) i would feel like my right arm had been removed!

                                    Hi peeps, my tytn2 seems to have very poor signal and i miss alot of calls. it shows that it has signal but doesnt dial out sometimes and no calls come through. My tytn1 works perfectly in the same area. Anyone know if this is a general problem and if there is a fix for this?

                                        I have some questions before I buy this phone:

                                        1- Some rumors about poor battery life ? how much is that in days for a "normal" usage ?
                                        2-Some sites say its USB 2 and others say 1.1 ?
                                        3-Can more than 1 app use the internet at same time(3G)?
                                        4-Is the screen tilt subject to ease break ?
                                        5-Compared to tilt 1 , is there any major advantage other than WM6 , and that could be be upgraded , they removed the flash ? , Should I get tytn I or II ?

                                        I love the phone but I'm just worried thats all , Any major drawback to advice me not to buy it ?
