Huawei Mate 20 Pro case hints at in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers
Cases for the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro show that the company may keep the 3.5mm headphone jack. The cases for both models seem to have a hole dedicated to it and it’s not just that.
Both have two holes on top – one presumably for a mic, the other most likely for an IR blaster (the P20 phones have IR).
Huawei Mate 20 Pro case (alleged)
The square camera hole is quite distinctive, but the Mate 20 case extends that hole as if to accommodate a fingerprint reader while the Mate 20 Pro case does not. It’s not just that, the Pro case does not seem to have a cutout for a loudspeaker.
So, don’t take it for granted, but this suggests the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will have an in-display fingerprint reader and front stereo speakers.
The two models will also have differently-sized notches and different resolutions. In fact, we may be looking at a curved and flat displays for the Pro and non-Pro models, respectively. The official event is a month from now.
