It have 8GB ram compared to laughable 4 with apple.
It have equaly same CPU in speeds and other aspects and is a smaller one.
It offers much bigger battery and a premiunm finnish.
A lot better camera front and back.
Latest customers friendly android which wont restrict you from anything compared to laggy buggy apple with charging problems after release the new OS version. Which have always some major bugs after release new OS version.
And finaly Huawei wont slow down your phone via updates compared to apple which legaly confirms that when they had no other choice.

Soon everything will be completely wireless and even charging hole will be sealed and replaced by Qi charging (wireless one).

Second, what do you mean by 'it's more than that' What's the actual upgrade except the extra 2 GB RAM, a 512 GB configuration, some leather on the back and a thicker phone (despite having the same sized battery)
Look at the iPhone XR and XS. The XS has 3D touch, OLED, higher resolution and PPI, another camera, more storage, more RAM, stainless steel frame and the price difference is 250 USD. Why are you defending this if the upgrades are barely noticable, and the price difference is 700 EUR (830 USD)?

Why have such an exorbitant price tag when they take the most basic port and remove it? They could've kept it and added a dedicated DAC like Vivo, LG, and ZTE. If the price is that high, then it better come with everything under the sun.
