Anonymous, 04 Oct 2023According to all the information they have, might’ve stated... moreAfter clicking on his videos and reading your comment about how you think he is "correctly educated" I literally laughed out loud. Dude, you guys can't make it any more obvious what your political agenda is.
First of all, all but a small fraction of that video even talks about the Mate 60 (don't let the length of the "Mate 60" chapter fool you). The video is clearly anti-china propaganda with the Mate 60 used as a keyword to get people to click on the video. But of course if you're at all familiar with the two in the video, you don't need me to tell you that; you will have realized it within the first second of the video.
The content of the stuff they say isn't particularly credible either. They show a couple cases of the phone hanging but quite frankly, that happens to every phone and we have no idea what prior events took place before that video was taken. I too can overload my phone to the point where everything is sluggish as hell. I can also peel my screen protector a little bit on the corners and edges. There is a good chance that these Tiktoks are just people trying to cash in on the hype of the phone, as is the case with social media everywhere. I would give the claims some more credit if they bothered to try to restart the phone and could recreate the situation on camera. The only thing I agree could be improved on is the ads. Talking to people from China (the intended market of these phones), it seems that they don't really care for the ads and just ignore them. However, for someone who is not used to it like myself, it was really jarring at first. It may be a cultural thing but I think in general the removal of these ads will improve the polish and user experience.
I skimmed through the video and that's all the stuff relevant to the Mate 60 I found. Either way, I couldn't stomach propaganda coming from these two any longer anyway.
Is the performance exaggerated? Perhaps. However, at the same time, we don't know if further software optimizations is holding back the real potential of the chip. Having the ability to use hyperthreading also means you have to deal with all the problems it introduces. But who is making these claims about the performance of the chip? It certainly isn't the Chinese government nor Huawei. In fact, there continues to be very little official news about the phone. Reuters published an article on September 25 (after Huawei's event) talking about how people were disappointed that more wasn't said about the Mate 60. So whatever exaggerations you see is basically just people getting excited and touting Huawei's progress. Unless Huawei breaks the silence on the Mate 60 and Kirin 9000S, I would take all the claims on the internet with a grain of salt.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2023However an iPhone is in no better boat, so to say. And yes ... moreAnd what exactly makes you think that huawei is run by the Chinese government? Contrary to your opinion, multiple academics (japanese and american) have concluded that huawei is neither owned, nor directly controlled by, the Chinese government.
If you think that having contracts with the armed forces or receiving subsidies from the government makes huawei state owned, then you only need to look at basically any other big tech company out there to realize that's just wrong.
Huawei has remained particularly quiet about the details of the development of the kirin 9000s and while i would love to learn more about how they did it, they are under no obligation to tell us. With the american government constantly eyeing huawei, looking for any way to set them back, this is rather prudent. I don't fault them for being tight-lipped.

I've always been really impressed with huawei's 32bit sound quality, the camera is good enough and the display is nice. I like that the display is also slightly wider like that of the iphone.

And yes Huawei have done what others assumed wasn’t possible, props to them for that. But the fact that Huawei is also run by the government, makes you wonder what is really happening.

You haven`t any idea you... moreAccording to all the information they have, might’ve stated. Unfortunately you are both incorrect.
However Evan is more correctly educated as they have stated facts and have proved it. After watching their video and done more research it is true that the Mate 60 isn’t as good as that country makes it out to be.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2023So after harmony os next you won't be able to install ... moreI think huawei was just using android 12 as a crutch until their app store and alternatives to google apps matured enough. I guess they now feel that the situation has developed to the point where either alternatives to gms apps are competitive enough, or they want to force app makers into a sense of urgency so they make that final push to be independent of google services.
It's still unclear whether harmony os next will be universal across all newly purchased huawei devices (whenever they roll it out). Additionally, apps like gbox can be used to run a virtual environment with android support inside. If gbox doesn't work on harmony is next, I'm sure someone will create an alternative. I personally still hope huawei at least gives us a choice.

USD $ 1,400/- includes shipping, delivery etc at doorstep, of the 12/1 TB version, running Harmony OS, black color, Kirin 9000 S CPU. Chinese version. Delivery 6/7th Oct.
But am confused, since am no phone expert, pavlecom recommended waiting for the price to drop, with which I totally agree. Neither am in rush.
Hoping that clarifies some, if not all queries!!

It seems it will never come out from China.
The Kirin 9000 S will be forbidden all around the world because of the Us sanctions.
So we have only the P60 PRO with overheating chipset...

I meant despite iPhone 15 Pro Max slightly higher AnTuTu score I'd still go for Mate 60 Pro, for it's features, sturdiness and much more.
No heating issues like 15 Pro Max.
Hope that clears the confusion 😉
.
Btw-I can get the Mate 60 Pro by 6th, but the price is a bit high. $ 1,400/- for the 12/.1TB variant 🤔
