Details using intermediate zoom also a lot better now, after severals of OTA EMUI 11 update. Also some of the update changelog didnt mention about camera improvement, but I can notice it, and you can check Camera App version are newer on certain OTA update.

But for sure on newer EMUI 11 OTA updates, certain things looks better on the rear cam, photography wise.

Mi Note 10 is a great camera no doubt, but dont like the oversmudge details processing that they have (still better than what Samsung has done). Also in what ways Mate 10 are better than P40? I can be sure that its better than my previous Mate 20, by far. Yes sometimes color science using main RYYB sensor can be a bit miss on certain scenarios, but it takes on details are splendid. Colors can easily adjusted using HSL adjustment later on, but u cannot recover details. Besides, its improving over the time with certain updates.

FYI, th... moreyea i own it sine few months, and since 2019 also the Xiaomi Mi Note10, which made better pics right out of the box than p40pro today, i am disappointed at the pic quality and not accurate colors, but it's faster than xiaomi and does not lag;
i also happen to own Mate10pro which seems to be making better pics at low light conditions than p40pro too; it is just sad. Well let's hope it is what you say and they fix it. As for now i can not understand how this phone made it to top ranks in DXOMARK, even Samsung S20, not even the Ultra version, and it still takes better pics.

No update regarding camera? Received bunch of it already. U own the device? This April, P40 & Mate 40 will receive a major Camera ID upgrade, after launching P50.

What's so different that it does not support EOD? Both phones use Depth sensor IR for the front cameras...

Ali, 04 Feb 2021I am quite disappointed with p40 pro camera actually. The c... morethe camera app is very basic, needs an update, for example taking pics at night works....but the camera will be at all times out of focus if the object is too far, like a city at night, as a comparison Xiaomi Mi Note10, the picture dimensions are exactly 1/3 of what xiaomi makes,the file size too;
now i could not beat the night mode with 'pro' mode on the P40Pro, and so it took 25sec to take the pic....that got easily beaten with the pro mode on Xiaomi, and it only took 4sec to take the pic;
needless to mention, Xiaomi had always good focus on the target, P40pro like twice out of 10 times, again i am talking about night pics;
daylight pics with tripod = xiaomi wins again, but hand held = P40Pro is her unbeaten

S.a, 23 Feb 2021Guys I am having notification problems with the following a... more1) Go to settings, apps, apps, tap the 3 dot on top right corner, special access, battery optimization, select all apps, choose your desired apps that want real time notification, select dont allow.
2) Go to settings, battery, app launch, select your apps, untick it (with 3 ticks on after it).
3) Go to settings, battery, more battery settings, tick the 'stay connected while asleep'.
4) Make sure whenever there is a 'push service' update available in AppGallery, update it.
5) Restart your phone, let message come in & go for a while, you should be good.
Usually I just do the 1st step, as the others are like that by default. Just told you the proper setup if things are off. Never miss any notification after that. 😉
