I have gone from a JasJam to a Moto Q9 then to this. Telstra boasts 7.2 MBPS but its lucky to get 2.2 down. I think my opinion is skewed as I had a trade show on and as the event organiser it was a pain in the buttocks to have in your pocket, bulky, battery life sucks & forgetting to lock it all the time making calls. I think once I have time to sit down & play with it more & work out its subtle features & querks then I'll be a lot happier. Any users know how to get Flash working on it?

I am using at the same time TyTN II, O2 Graphite, Dopod m700 and this imate 9502. Guess which is my favorite? It is the imate 9502. The build quality is superb because of the metal casing, unlike all others which are plasticky, that is, toy like. The VGA screen is beautiful. Interestingly it is very fast. Try opening up the windows folder by the File Explorer you will know what I'm talking about. The downside are its 2G card support and relatively slower initial first time GPS fix.

This is a great phone but as others have said, the battery life sucks. I would be happy with a chunkier PDA phone if I could get at least double the battery life. I charge every night but with the 9502 I am lucky some days if I get a full day out of it.
The GPS is very slow but then so is all the other PDA's using the Qualcomm chipset. I see some have switched to the Sirf chipset and this is a great move. Lets hope Imate does the same with newer models as the Sirf Start III chipset is very fast for locking on.

I'm having trouble with this phone, after some use the screen will not come on when I receive a call, so I'm not able to see who is calling and after that it takes some effort to get the screen to start working again. I called support and they showed me how to Hard reset the phone. This solves the problem but just for a day or two, so I've had to hard reset the phone several times and re-sync it everytime.

For TOMTOM You need to set it up in the tomtom software under "Other NMEA GPS Receiver" Max baud rate (115200)and COM 9. Also set com 9 in the phones GPS settings under the Programs Tab. I must warn that it takes a wile to start getting a "valid GPS signal" Maybe 2 min

Thanx Ali, but is imposible. I have i-mate 9502 and Nav N Go IGO8. Those two don't mix. When I reached com9 on Nav N Go it's stop responding and after 6 hours is on the same state.
So my advice is: Don't buy i-mate 9502 if you want to use it with Nav N GO, or don't buy Nav N Go if you want to use it with i-mate 9502. The main reason why I wanted this i-mate it was because I had 4 devices in one. Internet explorer (which is not working with O2 in Ireland), GPS (which is not working with Nav N GO) Phone, and MP3 Player. As you can see it the working things are at the bottom of my list, so you can figure out yourself how happy I am.

Great phone but battery life is very, very bad. I use about 85% of the total battery power on a daily basis. Tried calling their customer support but have not been able to get a hold of anyone to date. Customer support is non existent.

previously a palm tx, palm OS treo 650, sony ux50, I-mate jasjar user. probably the best phone I've ever owned since the original startec. it looks bigger than it actually is. though you really can't expect a device with this many features to be tiny. Its very easy to operate singlehandedly w/ multitude of dials, hot buttons and the touch screen. screen is beautiful and while the sliding screen does feel little loose, the build quality is surprisingly solid.
only qualm I have the lack of OEM SDHC card support. though I have yet to try out the flash rom or SDHC777. probably give it a try this weekend.

No, i-mate has working ATI drivers and does better than Nokia N95 on Open GL ES 1.0 benchmark. Video also plays back at 30fps
