Pros: great build quality, fast wifi, crisp TV even though its only composite (not VGA), strong GPS signal, quality camera, 640x480 screen is great for remote desktop use (laptop replacement)

cons: battery life(turn on wifi and GPS sparingly, or you will not see the dayout), have to buy your own GPS software, slide out screen feels a little tacky (wobly), customer support is AWOL, & 100 other cons that are more the fault of WM6 than imate.

Summary = I understand the limitations of the tech, and compared with the available choices its a fantastic phone and I love it, best phone I have had.
ps: don't forget to install the remote desktop CAB, IMHO the phone is not worth buying unless your using remote desktop.
stuff the limited mobile browsers, remote to your home PC and use a normal web browser.

Is it possible to buy a spare battery for the 9502? According to the i-mate web site, it should, but I cant find any offer in e-shops. The authorised representative of i-mate in my country says "we have no original accesories for the 9502, but they will be introduced soon"

This devices has pretty much the same specs as the TyTN II. Size, OS, processor etc. are almost the same in both.

I have the TyTN II and can say that I have had no problems with my device.

I would get which ever phone you can at the lower price. You're not going to loose any features which ever phone you choose.

Anyone can help with the GPS question? Does the unit come with any map? Anyone try your GPS? Does it work? How is the response?

I have checked it yesterday. This phone is really huge compared to the x150 series. You can NOT also use it sigle handedly. It looks decent and expensive though.

I think the only good thing about this phone is its GPS. other than that, i have to wait for the xepria. I am very pleased and satisfied with my ultimate 8150. it has vga screen anyway.

I have had i-mate Ultimate 9502 smartphone for about a while now and it is great but getting it to work with Bluetooth has proven impossible.

I have two computers that are just over a year old (one only two months) and neither can use Windows Mobile Center for syncing even though bluetooth is set up.

I have an exisiting case with Microsoft who is trying to help and most supportive (calling me back - to see how I am going with the problem) but i-mate support is absolutely appalling even if you can understand their strong Malaysian accents.

Also i-mate technical support do no follow-up (phone back when they say they are going to) or even create an ongoing case. I even tried the online "live support" and there was either no one available or or the connection would drop out, on the one time I got through.

Microsoft identify what the problem is it is the sync profile according to the problems and solutions center in the control panel.

Bottome line: when you spend over $1000AU (as much as a laptop!) on a device there should be better help from the manufacturer.

Advice: if you want to buy one of these i-mate smartphones - make sure you are prepared for bad after sales support!!

Maybe you should go for the HTC TyTN II. Even though the daily battery life isn't as good. The only problem is that it is not available on a Telstra plan. I am beginning to think I should have waited!

Just so everyone understands in the world - this is why Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 won't work with Bluetooth. It is the Sync Profile. I-Mate help desk is not providing any help at this time!

You need to remove the battery cover, but not the battery

                                        Hi,

is the micro sd slot a hot swap? Or is it embedded underneath the battery?
