Yes, if it supports windows mobile it can have skype installed. On the other side, this is a 640x480 screen, so you can check on the skype website if the current version supports this resolution.

Can you install skype on it? Since it has WIFI, when in a public place, restaurant or Hotel with a WIFI point connection should I get internet free on the phone and use skype? Is it possible to make a video call for to Skype user such as a PC or any other person online maybe having skype on his mobile.

Can you install skype on it and when in a place or Hotel with a WIFI point you get internet free on the phone and use skype? Maybe even make a video call for to any Skype point being mobile or home PC?

THANKS will be grateful if someone replies

Hi all I have heard of this phone release in the UK and Australia but no word about the US. Can anyone tell me where in the States I can obtain this phone and at what price?
Very impress by the looks and the features.

Hi PxvC. This product sounds like magic, but .... I don't know anything about TomTom software. With this running do you have full GPS Navigation or just Positioning?

I got one of these yesterday. First impressions:

Fantastic to finally have a VGA screen. It is a 480x640 screen so it's true VGA nothing less. It's NOT the size of a PSP...in fact it's just slightly larger than the PSP LCD screen. Size is not an issue but then again I had a Jasjam before. GPS works but you will need Tomtom or other software installed. I have Tomtom running and it works fine. Haven't tested SDHC but on the imate forum people are asking for an official patch so I take it it doesn't work...yet. Build quality seems solid. Case is partially metal - not plastic like the HTC phones.

Three things that are less than ideal:
Don't know how to get rid of the Telstra customization yet
The power button is in a STUPID place (on the top if your holding the phone in your hand)
The plastic above the camera lens sticks out and is unprotected. This is likely to scratch horribly in no time so I'll have to put something over it....what were they thinking???

VGA is HARD to read at full res, i.e. when you make the fonts small but you can fit SO much more on that screen!

Otherwise the phone feels solid and handles nicely but of the four phones we got, one had a dead battery.

                Cheers

too large, and ridiculously heavy at 200g. also poor battery life. shame about the problems with HTC or this wouldn't stand a chance against the TyTnII.

I dont think this will Work with Tmobile 3g.
Also it does have hand writing recon and it should be able to use Micro SDHC, But I'm hearing a lot of ppl saying it wont take anything higher then 2gb.
And this Phone should Officially be out for US and Euro on Apr.20-24 (different sellers)

Does it support SDHC cards? If not, would you buy a superb computer without hard disk? Where should we put heavy maps for gps, applications and data according to imate? All in 2Gb?

Can someone here provide us with information about Europe availability??? Im starting to be fed-up with i-mate answers like - check your dealer website every week or so...

Also noticed here on gsmarena topic about WM 6.1 that "there are already several devices out there that will use the 6.1 version out-of-the-box i-mate: 8502, 9502, 8150, 6150"
