I had Lenovo P2 for 3.5 yrs..had almost purchased Redmi note 9 pro max is not their fake flash sales in India... finally ended up buying Samsung M31S on launch day......After years of waiting finally looks like a worthy successor to Lenovo P2.

Though not a big samsung fan I purchased Samsung M31S immediately after it launched in India for 18K after HDFC discount for 6/128GB after waiting for nearly 2 months for Redmi note 9 pro max 6/128 which was at 17K then went to 18.5K due to tax and production issues coz of lockdown. It was impossible to buy in their weekly flash sales coz Redmi didn’t have stock at all coz of production issues.

Out of anger thought of buying Samsung M31 6/128 which was available at 16K then but the Exynos processor, old dewdrop front cam, rear fingerprint scanner and 15watt charger for 6K battery holded me back…

My Lenovo P2 which I purchased on launch day in Jan 2017 had speaker issues after 3 years of usage.. Service centre has closed down in my city and nowhere else speaker was available…but after Redmi stock issues and M31 shortcomings made me purchase speaker for P2 from amazon and still using the phone. Repaired a phone for the first time in my life. Lenovo P2 is most underrated phone. Best battery life. Even after 3 years I still get 9 to 10 hrs of screen time. Excellent.

I have used samsung only once earlier….Note 3 Neo….gud phone intially but later started hanging and pathetic battery life…. So my main expectation after using Lenovo P2s huge 5100mah battery from 3.5 yrs back was battery life as I was a heavy user though I never play games. Till now phones were coming with 5000mah batteries or else it was 4 to 4.5K mah only.

Though M31s processor is not great for gaming etc it’s gud for normal usage. All my other concerns of M31 were overcome by M31s like punch hole camera, side fingerprint, 25 w charger, attractive design with side frame etc. Also sony sensor and new camera features were add on.

Also in Amazon sale got it for just 500 more than M31 and 500 less than Redmi note 9 pro max during normal sale when I intended to buy… (6/128 model)

I had also considered Poco X2 coz of its camera but was put off by its 4500 mah battery. Many users had issues of battery drain also. But if I had purchased Redmi note 9 pro max, Poco X2 or even Motorola one fusion plus or Realme 6 I would have deeply missed my Lenovo P2s super amoled display…..

All these chinese phones though have gud Snapdragon processors but have very poor IPS display which r no match to super amoled display. I have seen and compared few IPS display phones with family and friends with my Lenovo P2 super amoled display…..there is day and night difference….

So if I had gone with Redmi note 9 pro max I would have missed super amoled display and sony sensor…in samsung m31s I will miss Snapdragon processor…btw my 3.5 yrs old Lenovo P2 is having Snapdragon 625….Its super power efficient and smooth for day today tasks and heavy multi tasking..never played any games though....hope Exynos processor will atleast match S625 if not more.

I ordered it on 6th Aug around 12.15 am…. was delivered on 8th Aug…..first impression is very gud especially the camera… excellent super amoled display….even a lot better than my Lenovo P2 super amoled display….built quality is the best in M series with new stylish dual colours….but can’t b compared to glass backs which r just awesome but very fragile….. anyways how many of us use mobile without case…..so this shall not make any impact for potential buyers of M31S…......case is must for M31s coz back though looks like glass is plastic and will easily get scratches

Battery is also excellent....being a Lenovo P2 user for 3.5 yrs I think finally I got a gud successor for it. Can't really tell the battery screen on time coz I am installing my 100 plus apps and logging in. Today charged from 21% to 100% in 1.36 hrs....so from 0 to 100 it must 1.55 hrs to max 2 hrs...huge important over M31 which had same battery but would take 2.45 hrs to fully charge.

Fingerprint is gud….it's fast but u need to touch it correctly….but I am getting used to side mounted fingerprint…it will take some time as I had front (below the display) fingerprint in my Lenovo P2.

Rear camera is excellent. I am still checking out its features. Intelli cam with single take is quite interesting and helpful during important private moments.

Indoor selfies r excellent provided there is enough artificial light…. without much light it’s avg like any other mid range phone….if we use front flash (white screen) when lighting is less then photo come very sharp and gud but with little boosted colours like normally redmi and realme back cameras do…..( On 32MP selfie cam in M31s..it’s not default)

I am not a gamer…..for normal apps and multi tasking there is no delay at all….hope in long run it remains the same…I am also still little doubtful abt Exynos processor after few months….but this processor is tried and tested by samsung in many phones so hoping for the best… Hope it as gud or better than Lenovo P2's S625 in long run.

Latvis, 05 Aug 2020Sadly, my second (new) P2 which I started to use about 5-6m... moreOkey, little update - I googled issue and seems that its common problem for various phones. Somebody suggested "lighter igniter fix" (check out on youtube). I got excited, tried immediately and found out that it fixes only 1 row temporarily (when you switch off screen and switch back on "fix" is gone).

So... I fiddled with settings (thanks to custom LineageOS !!!) and was able to "fix" it software way - by choosing "by app" basis in which apps "navigation bar" should be visible. I choosed nav bar only be visible only for 2 "problematic" apps, which have issues by imputing text, caused by this hardware display issue.
Normally I dont use software nav buttons, thanks to awesome functionality of hardware fingerprint scanner, which acts as back button and as home button too (when pressed).

Sadly, my second (new) P2 which I started to use about 5-6month ago, started showing hardware display issue - 2 rows not responding to touch at all, same as it was with first phone. Only difference that this time I am certain it was NOT my fault (phone not dropped, etc) and also position of 2 not-working rows is different - this time it in the bottom part of screen, which caused problems of inputting text at least in 2 apps now :( With first phone it was in the middle part of screen.
I am not ready to give up on this phone as its superb for me. Battery life between 3-4 days, night time OFF (with average SOT from 5 - 8h).
Sadly fast repair is out of question - unless I travel to China to cities like Shenzen or Guanzhou, which I dont think will happen anytime soon due to..you know what.

It is a very powerful phone i had it 1 year ago and i still have it .. working very good i always playing games just like pubg and it works very good no lag no graphic problems , battery still working all the day with heavy jobs i love it so much

This phone is awesome! I got it since launch, the battery keeps me at least one day, moredate-intense use. Perfect dimmenions, display, battery, for that time. Now, all the phones are huge like almost a tablet, too much for me. If Lenovo would release a big endurance phone like this, with better processor and a better camera than P2, I would be the first one to buy it! :)

The only problem I have with this phone, is that sometimes when it have physical constraints in my pocket (somehow a little twisted), si SIM card is disconnected and I have to reboot the phone. But maybe it's a SIM card problem.
                  I appreciate a lot LTE B28 connectivity.

I've had my P2 since September 2017 and gone through 3 sets of earphones and chargers, but my P2 is still exactly as the day I bought it! This phone is probably the best value for money product on the market. The only criticism I have is that accessories like phone covers and protective classes are very hard to come by. The phone itself is a legend!!!

Had my Lenovo P2 for two years now and it has been the best phone I have used so far.
Battery life is incredible, I watch hours of YouTube on it and it never goes below 60%!
That includes several calls and some web browsing. Always laugh with my friends Iphones that, by mid afternoon run out of power and cost 3 times what I paid for this.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to have a reliable phone and forget daily charging.

I've been using my lenovo p2 since December 2017 and it's working great. I now need new charging cable since it's almost broken at the end where it's connected to the port which can connect to the phone. Also it's impossible for me to get the exact same cable from China since it's out of stock. So I need alternatives. Either a 3rd party charger / power bank which is capable the fast charging the lenovo p2. So if any of you know please kindly tell me.

Battery life is indeed great. I am using P2 it with LineageOS now, heh. But since this covid thing started my usage is not rather typical, so I can't really tell yet what is average SOT. Time frame between charges with Lineage OS 16 on P2 is 4 days for me (I do switch off phone during night).

It's hard to believe that this 2016 Lenovo smartphone with a mid-range Snapdragon chipset scored the second longest endurance rating behind the 2020 Realme 6i. Imagine using a deGoogled custom Android ROM like LineageOS or Havoc-OS, the battery life must be insane!

P2 is amazing. I was crazy enough to get NEW p2 to replace my old one (3 years old), since it had some hardware issues with screen and also battery life was decreasing. New one runs Android 9 (Lineage OS 16). Testing it now. First impressions very good. SOT on first charge 16h 39min. Currently I'm on second charge - 38% battery left and SOT is 10h 16min. Will let you know later how it goes and my full impressions.
