The FM radio is locked or laser cut in my hardware revision of the LG G5. It's version RS988. Rumor is, the FM radio only works on LS992 (Sprint - CDMA only) and US992 (US Cellular); Vodafone (not sure if they use GSM or CDMA)
This was almost the perfect phone, I even added a Qi inductive receiver and a laser cut wooden case. But sadly, I cannot list to the FM radio while ridding my motorcycle (helps with traffic alerts) and FM is useful for when the networks and power fails. The FM chip barely uses battery, it doesn't have to decode a bit stream.
I bought this phone unlocked from best buy, and expected the FM radio to work, sadly it didn't.

Then, you will charge the dead battery (*requires a charging cable with or without adapter which you will carry with you as well) which would take an hour or two and then you carry this one with you. Hmm, how convenient.

After reading so many bad comments about this phone (mostly from people who don't own it...) I have decided to purchase this phone, now at around 408 USD (1500 AED here in Dubai). The price is actually ok for the specs of this phone, got the H860 variant Titan. For that price you won't get the freebies but thats fine with me. I did not get this phone with regards to its modular features...actually im not interested at all. I just got because of the removable battery. Very economical option in case your battery dies, you just get a new one and pop it in, whereas if it were a galaxy s7 or s7 edge, a dead battery would mean a quick trip to the repair shop and surely it would not be cheap. I don't have any issues with this phone, performance wise it delivers as a flagship. battery life can last me through a day, with a mixed use of social media, bluetooth streaming, majority use of internet is through mobile data. At the end of my day which is around 10pm, i still have about 30-40 percent battery life. I dont have issues with build quality, got mine perfect. No heating issues also, gets a little warm though if i play mortal kombat x for an hour :). I can safely recommend this phone to anyone wants to try an LG.

User of LG for a while I jumped from LG G4 to G5 in a question of few months. After 3 months jogging with my phone it started to fail and the micro did not work anymore. Sent to LG for revision under warranty, they confirmed that sweat has got into the phone and has signs of corrosion. They claimed it is my fault for making a bad use of it and do claim over half of the price of the phone to repair it. Even if I was a good LG client, this is a shame. The detachable part does not close completely and humidity corrodes your phone from inside even while having your phone in a special bracelet for jogging. Pay attention. For all that I liked the phone; the next one will not be LG..... for sure! Customer service is the worse ever! At least in Portugal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not had one promblem with this phone. It is absolutely amazing and by far the joint best smartphone in the world
