Got me one. My 7 year old Nokia N8 still takes better photos at daytime. What is going on ? Sure the G5 OIS and f1.8 makes nice night shots, but why are todays 700 euros phones inferior to an N8 , not to speak of the Nokia 808.

IS IT SO HARD TO BUILD A SLIGHTLY BIGGER SENSOR IN AND SOME DECENT GLASS???

If you use additional pieces it will disintegrate... Overheating, just cheap heatsink that doesn't do it's job.

Have had the g5 just over a year, the GPS doesn't work, screen burn in occurs after just minutes of looking at one thing, service is terrible while friends phones are fine, will go from 40% battery to dead and just turn off randomly, the camera doesn't work like it did when it was new, sensors have gone bad I guess. It is only just out of warranty, it replaced an LG G4 that died and went into boot loop. Will never buy another LG device.

C1, 29 Jun 2017I had 4G signal problems with my first LG G5 after 3 months... moreWhat are you doing to your device and its always losing its signal? ive never had problems with G5 until now. it works smoothly and as it should be. The LTE signal on my device never drops. maybe you are doing something to your mobile settings or your area is some kind of a grey area where the signal drops.

I had 4G signal problems with my first LG G5 after 3 months. I sent it to service and they changed the antenna. After 2 weeks I had the same issue and they changed my phone.
The second phone has the same problem after 4 months. I sent it to service and they changed the antenna, after 2 weeks I sent it back with the same problem. Now they say that the phone has no problem.
I will never buy a LG product.

                  Pros:
                  - Butter smooth performance.
                  - Love the wide-angle camera, especially if you're taking a lot of Scenery photos.
                  - One of the few last flagship phones that you can remove / replace your battery.

Cons ( ... and these are big ones):
                  - Due to the LG G5 using an LCD screen, it's prone to screen burn in. I can still see the google keyboard icon on darker backgrounds, even though I removed that months ago.
                  - The GPS sucks. It takes at least 5 - 10 minutes to get a GPS signal, and at that point it's erratic and unreliable. This is a VERY big con.
                  - Terrible after sales support. I've tried to contact LG, but keep getting referred back to my Network Provider.

I'm very sorry to say that I will not be buying another LG Phone. I tried to move away from Samsung due to their terrible re-skinned UI and immense bloatware, but at least the hardware was fantastic.

Anonymous, 26 Jun 2017The reason is that LG phones have crap camera app. It does ... moreI don't believe that theory because my V20 camera app provides all the settings I want including the ability to set to a lower MP or video size on both sides of the camera. Only my G5 doesn't give me the options similar to what iPhones do. Apple wants you to buy the bigger storage options, so each photo are as large as songs.

At least the G5 has expandable storage where I can easily move my photos to. I can get a $90 PNY 200gb at Fry's. My 64gb Samsung microSD inside my V20 corrupted earlier this morning. My 64gb Transcend inside my G5 is still going strong?

I think when I travel, I would bring the G5, V20, and Pixel along with the PS Vita. The V20 will likely be my main camera phone though. I have two holster cases attached to my hip with the G5 and Pixel. The V20 is just too bulky to attach to my belt that I leave in my pocket with another holster case to protect it.

The G5 is nicer to hold when texting though. Ideal size. And I prefer the speaker on it over the V20 which is why I use it as for my videos and songs. V20 speaker is quite weak and barely on the level of the Pixel. The S7 edge has a louder speaker but I hate using that phone.

Savor , 22 Jun 2017Still my favorite phone but I can't adjust the MP resolutio... moreThe reason is that LG phones have crap camera app. It does not have any option to change the photo and video resolution. It's pathetic that they (LG) brag about manual settigs, yet they don't offer even the most basic feature: changing photo resolution.

You should try 3rd party camera apps, for example OpenCamera. It has more options than the stock camera app (you can change resolution, video bitrate, use always infinity focus in video, etc.).

I got LG G5 just a day before.
The sticker n the backside has written model no. H845.
But in the About phone, H850 is written. Why is this so?
Secondly how can i update to Nougat?

Hey, in my case fast charging killed my battery in less than 6 months or it's just my faulty phone? Do you charge it daily via stock fast charger ??

AnonD-650583, 22 Jun 2017One month with a lifeproof Fre for my G5. Feels very secure... moreThat case sounds great to be fair and I have a u11 now but I do still have my G5 and I kept it in a love Mei case which for me worked great and many a time I used my G5 in the rain with no problems at all. :)

To me my G5 is a classic and one of the true last great replaceable battery phones.

Still my favorite phone but I can't adjust the MP resolution lower. Each photo eats up 7.5mb. So with only 130+ photos, that eats up 1gb. I don't understand the reasoning? My other phones can be adjusted to a lower res. I tend to use the V20 most and will use it as my main camera phone and multimedia device.

One month with a lifeproof Fre for my G5. Feels very secure now. Tested in shower and bowl of water and no water gets in.

But Problems: call quality poor. Pictures do sometimes get lens flare. Fingerprint sensor 75% accurate. Sometimes has problems with proximity sensor: when finished calls sometimes screen stays black and have to hit power button twice , and always on display sometimes not working when in case.

But got it half price and even though makes phone bulky, worth it for security. Caught in storm twice and got drenched and phone stayed dry both times. Few months ago I had to replace power button because of spilled beer. Spilled drinks on G5 again but with lifeproof case, no problems. Good enough as part time case till v30 rolls out ;D

[deleted post]You could search for internet "how to start phone without powerbutton". Sometimes for example the a combination a volume-button and putting the charger in; it will start the phone (sometimes/maybe) in a special mode: and from there you choose to start the phone from the touch menu.

Also you could soldering a new button by yourself or let one of your friend with "electronic knowlogde" do it. Did some search now. The lg button is very very easy replaceable. Just i thin cable you connect without soldering. Search for "replaceable lg g5 buttons".

                                        Good luck!
