AnonD-531620, 28 Oct 2016I can't understand the reviews either, they are so contradi... moreEven I was in ur situation a week back , confused if it will be a good phone as many says its a failure for lg ...
I considered getting honor 8 , as it possessed good features too...but still other honor phones weren't great sound in the reviews !
So who would miss a snapdragon 820, dual SIM ,colour pink , dual camera with good quality photos ... All these as per review from websites ....and this phone was way cheaper than s7, htc 10 , iPhone 6s which has same features ...
So some how convinced myself to get this phone ...
Its a been a week as I said
Its a nice phone
Very speedy ... Runs all apps and games smoothly ...
Display is good only ... Like may be not that nice as s7 and it has to be 100% if u use it in outdoors ... Indoors 18% would do ...
Cameras are great ... No complaints
Yea only thing that little disappoints with this phone is battery life ...
If it charges to 100% ... U will expect a solid 4 hours usuage only ..in outdoors 4 hours usage in battery saving mode ... I use full time 4g and notifications ... If u turn on VPN or location or sync , be ready to loose more of ur battery ...
But once u plug in ...it charges solo quick ...15% to 98% in 25 mins
It has other features like NFC , IR
So if u can manage battery life efficiently
This phone is a great phone for u
This phone was called failure bcuz of the price it was initially sold ... But now for the reduced price ... It bcums a best buy .
Have fun with ur new lg g5 ... Its really nice !!

AnonD-531620, 28 Oct 2016I can't understand the reviews either, they are so contradi... moreI wanted to buy P9 plus coz of lots of features and battery life. After months of reading comments from this blog, it seems that issues are arising from the device. But for the LG G5, no complaints at all. If you are a lover for a longer battery life like me just bring extra battery in your pocket and a fast charging capability will give you charge in an instant.

Anonymous, 28 Oct 2016Can anyone explain why this phone got so many bad reviews? ... moreI can't understand the reviews either, they are so contradictory. Some complain about battery life, others say it lasts a day no problem. Some say screen is too dim, others say it's great. Build quality seems to be an issue but user reviews seem to suggest that it's solid.

I think most reviewers think the moduler element is to much of a gimmick and do it down but as a standalone phone it seems to stand up.

I'm seriously considering this for my next upgrade, the price is about 20% cheaper than s7, htc 10 etc.

Would anyone who owns an lg g5 advise me not to buy this phone? If so please tell me why.

Only G5 owners need respond !

Can anyone explain why this phone got so many bad reviews? I really don't get it, considering this phone's performance AND camera are on par if not better than other flagships.

There are still cases made for it and for sale on Amazon and other sites. As there are 3rd party batteries available for the G5 right now, I think that one could safely assume that they will be available in a few years.

And in that case, if I buy 2-3 batteries in advance from now (to have in stock when the current battery dies and they have stopped manufacturing batteries) and keep them for a year in the drawer, will they work like brand new if I decide to put them in the phone?

It appears that the complaints about the G5 are pretty much along these lines:

                    No waterproofing (oh well).
Lots of paint on the back, no metal feel.
No app drawer (which I believe is now optional with a recent update, can someone confirm?)
Somewhat short battery life. (quick charging, so just plug it in for 10 minutes when it gets low)

Even if LG doesn't support the whole "Friends" thing, you've got a removable battery, so in a few years when your battery starts to lose it's pop, just slap in a new one. From what I've read, the negatives are relatively minor, correct?

G5 is junk wish I never got it. Constantly rebooting/restarting and freezing. Finally after a fit stuck in a constant rebooting cycle it completely bricked, dead might as well throw it away. Don't buy a G5 unless you want to throw money away and have constant headache.

However, if I decide to buy an additional battery and keep in in the drawer for one year (until the current one starts holding very little charge), will it work perfect on the phone even if it has stayed 1 year without being used?

Also, I have an Xperia Z2 and I feel like a £400 payment doesn't justify the jump in characteristics (the CPU is a bit faster and it has an additional 1 GB of RAM). The camera is smaller on the G5.

G5 is the most reliable phone to date and its performance is the best. Cammeras just perfect. Battery great. So, even without its "friends" i would have bought it again. LG abandoning the modular concept of G5 in future. so no need to invest in such type of device, yes i think it is one of da best mobile spec wise.

I was thinking of buying the G5, however, I recently read that LG are abandoning the modular concept for their future flagships. Since modules is what got me to this phone in the first place (it looks SO cool being able to play with your phone and attach/detach certain components), I think it's a shame that they are abandoning the idea. If I buy the G5 now, support for the current modules will probably end soon, which means I won't be able to replace them. Overall phone support might also end sooner. What would you recommend me? I need a phone (with a removable battery, but not the V20 as it is too expensive for me) that will last me and have support for at least 2 years. Thank you and appreciated.
