LG G8 ThinQ G820N Korean version is the 'bees knees', I only wish it had 5G, other than that Snapdragon 855 running with Android 12 makes this handset one of the best phones I have ever owned - and I've had a lot!! - It is utterly reliable, has more 'toys' installed than most even quite recent other phones have got - I have three of them just in case I break or lose or have one 'die' on me (God forbid!!). Plus the size is 'Goldilocks' - 'just right', for hand and pocket. Only issue that has occurred in the past few months has been a change to frequency protocols for voice and MMS calls which means of the three Networks available in Australia, the LG G8 G820N will not function properly ; sms only works, on the OPTUS or VODAFONE Networks but the LG 8 works 100% on the TELSTRA network.

My V50s also has OTG problem. But I figured out that it is both software and hardware problem. First, it won't detect OTG is tthe plug is upside down. Second, it will only detect the very first connection with any OTG device, detect nothing in second try. I purchased an alternative usb pcb but the problem is still yhere so it is a software problem.
Currently don't know how to fix that. You may try a reset but unsire if it will work.
Battery:
Also software and hardware problem. The system is miscalculating the voltage of the battery. Maybe the battery pcb is reporting wrong data, or the firmware is doing wrong math.

Does the USB OTG on your LG G8 work?
A year ago I bought an xp pen tablet to draw digitally with my phone, at first it worked without problems, after a few months I stopped drawing and recently i decided to go back, but now it doesn't detect my tablet, i already tried with different phones so it's not my tablet, nor the adapter i use or the original cable. Reading a little your reviews I think it must have been something when updating beyond android 10 but anyway I wanted to know if anyone has the same problems. Also, phone dies anytime while the battery is less than 20% i love my G8 but because of these issues i am considering changing it.

I need one help. Between lg G7 and G8, which one is better in terms of display, battery backup , sound quality through speaker and earphone and camera? I have heard that G7 supports Netflix HDR but G8 doesn't. Is it true?

I have lg g8 korean version LM-G820N. And its upgradable to android 12. Just updated last july 1 2022. Can't believe lg still updates their phones. Thought they'll stop updating it to android 11.

Battery life sabotage d, scrolling broken, camera broken, hi-res audio broken, everything in the phone is not working.
And it is not about how new the phone to you, it is about how new the phone to the manufacturer and the rest of the world. LG G8 is a 3-years-old phone. And the smartphone department is officially dead for a year. LG's unique functions and licenses are no more being maintained anymore. Nothing can work better than sub-android10 versions of LGUI.
And for me, yes I suffered from broken scrolling last year's android11 update. And of course no hope and no fix. Rolled back to A10 and can not be more happy than this.

US AT&T version works fine with Android 11 API level 30 but don't recommend Android 12 because LG is out of the smartphone business and doesn't support Android 12.
