Well, regarding that, I managed to do something without rooting. I just force stopped the "Software Update" task through built in task manager, with blue icon. There are 2 of them, only one can be stopped, which I did.
Since then no update notifications are coming, and all else is fine too. I hope it helps.

        Hi guys,

        My LG G8X has some issues. Some apps like Twitter, my banking apps and chrome will not function like there's no data on the phone except I turn airplane mode on and off. Apps like WhatsApp and Instagram rarely do this but most times, the apps on the phone just act like there's no network connection. I'm running Android 10. Please anyone with a solution?

          Please...Does anyone knows when Sprint LG G8X would receive android 11 update?

              RD, 02 Mar 2022Hi which vivo phone that has good audioVivo NEX S is the best, as it comes with Cirrus Logic CS43199 HiFi DAC with native DSD playback capability. An ultra rare feature where the raw DSD64 files are decoded at the hardware level inside the DAC using DoP as a mode of transmission inside the phone. The headphone amp stage is also quite good through audio jack, three Analog Devices SSM6322 headphone amplifiers are in play here. In India, the NEX S comes with full GMS support with Google Playstore inbuilt.

              Not all Vivo phones are available in my country, but I also have their 2015 released Vivo X5 Max till now. X5Max had stellar audio quality courtesy the holy trinity of ESS Sabre ES9018 + ESS Sabre ES9601 + Texas Instruments OPA1612 op-amp combination in a phone. Audio was heaven on earth back then on this phone. Still is. I listen to this phone even today, it has the level of resolution & detail which was unheard back then. Unlike NEX S, it lacked the juice to power proper sized cans, hence best options were to stick to good earphones.

                  i am trinidad and tobago buy a lg g8x thinq in the usa and now i have a black screen and looking for a services center in my region can anyone help

                    1. No FM radio
                    2. NO QS slide apps like LG file manager, LG email, LG calendar & LG calculator
                    3. No knock code
                    4. No face unlock
                    5. Cannot swipe between tabs in phone app

With the advent of differently abled flagship phones sans headphone jack (thanks to Apple to start the trend) our choices are far and few between.

                          The only phone I can see in our country capable to challenge G8X on the audio front in Asus ROG 5. Native DSD playback capability on smartphones is a ultra rare feature. Only two companies successfully implemented it LG & Vivo. That too on selected flagship models.

                            LG was in full force till 2020, the year of Android 10. I will stick to it forever. Moreover LG G8X getting upgraded from Android 9 to Android 12... 3 version upgrades ... ?

                                  Its sad how the future of high quality mobile audio scene seems dismayal. Let's hope this improves with time... Although, with DSD support gone, I don't know if its ever possible.

I did this after visiting nearby authorized LG service center. Now both my LG G8X runs on below final version of Android 10 received on this phone:

                                    Software Version: V20g-IND-XX
                                    Android Version: 10
                                    Android security patch level: 01-May-2021

                                    I have been unhappy lately with the Android 11 update, as analogue audio quality through headphone jack dipped somewhat when compared to Android 10. I had two G8X's and thus had liberty to perform many A/B listening sessions/ testing on both phones using some high end headphones. One was on Android 10 while the other running Android 11. With Android 11, some high frequency details in audio are missing and also Meridian Audio tuned sound signature, a trait of G8X seems somewhat tamed.

                                    Found many users are also complaining of Android 11 update with core functionality issues like taking calls. This acted as a secondary motivator for downgrade. Later, I performed A/B critical audio testing between all three versions of Android 10 that the Vietnamese build G8X received with my two phones. The three Android 10 versions are as below:

                                    1st version (Factory version):
                                    Software Version: V20e-IND-XX
                                    Android Version: 10
                                    Android security patch level: 01-Sep-2020

                                    2nd update:
                                    Software Version: V20f-IND-XX
                                    Android Version: 10
                                    Android security patch level: 01-Mar-2021

                                    3rd update:
                                    Software Version: V20g-IND-XX
                                    Android Version: 10
                                    Android security patch level: 01-May-2021

                                    After some 5 months of testing, listening different genres of music on all three above versions of Android 10 and multiple A/B testing one version with another I came to the conclusion audio quality is not impacted and remains the same on all three with audio jack. Same with stereo speaker output and quality.

                                    Hence, I decided to stay put on the last version of Android 10 (3rd update) as it improved some UI elements like volume bar pops up on left side of the display not to mention 8 more months of Android security patch updates.

                                        I have never used G8X as my primary driver, never even bothered to put a SIM inside, so I cannot validate your comments. Your response will be a big help to others.
