      Its sad how the future of high quality mobile audio scene seems dismayal. Let's hope this improves with time... Although, with DSD support gone, I don't know if its ever possible.

I did this after visiting nearby authorized LG service center. Now both my LG G8X runs on below final version of Android 10 received on this phone:

        Software Version: V20g-IND-XX
        Android Version: 10
        Android security patch level: 01-May-2021

        I have been unhappy lately with the Android 11 update, as analogue audio quality through headphone jack dipped somewhat when compared to Android 10. I had two G8X's and thus had liberty to perform many A/B listening sessions/ testing on both phones using some high end headphones. One was on Android 10 while the other running Android 11. With Android 11, some high frequency details in audio are missing and also Meridian Audio tuned sound signature, a trait of G8X seems somewhat tamed.

        Found many users are also complaining of Android 11 update with core functionality issues like taking calls. This acted as a secondary motivator for downgrade. Later, I performed A/B critical audio testing between all three versions of Android 10 that the Vietnamese build G8X received with my two phones. The three Android 10 versions are as below:

        1st version (Factory version):
        Software Version: V20e-IND-XX
        Android Version: 10
        Android security patch level: 01-Sep-2020

        2nd update:
        Software Version: V20f-IND-XX
        Android Version: 10
        Android security patch level: 01-Mar-2021

        3rd update:
        Software Version: V20g-IND-XX
        Android Version: 10
        Android security patch level: 01-May-2021

        After some 5 months of testing, listening different genres of music on all three above versions of Android 10 and multiple A/B testing one version with another I came to the conclusion audio quality is not impacted and remains the same on all three with audio jack. Same with stereo speaker output and quality.

        Hence, I decided to stay put on the last version of Android 10 (3rd update) as it improved some UI elements like volume bar pops up on left side of the display not to mention 8 more months of Android security patch updates.

            I have never used G8X as my primary driver, never even bothered to put a SIM inside, so I cannot validate your comments. Your response will be a big help to others.

Automatically outgoing call going background which so annoying. Had resetted my phone but its still not working normal. Stupid update it is.

                vodny, 17 Dec 2021Hi, I bought this phone unlocked from Sprint, with Android ... moreI don't know much about other countries but in India we are having steady quarterly update policy. One of my LG G8X is running Android 11 and received an OTA update recently. After update:

                Software Version: V30b-IND-XX
                Android Version: 11
                Android security patch level: 01-Nov-2021

                I don't think G8X will receive Android 12 as it has already been updated from Android 9 to 11. Hence in 2022 we will just get security patch updates on a quarterly basis till Oct, 2022 when the phone turns 3 years old.

                You may try installing LG Bridge on PC and give it a try for updates. The problem is yours is a locked carrier specific version. Give it a try.

                  In India, receiving the Nov, 2021 Android security patch over OTA as of now.

                      Incoming calls not ringing anymore. When I dial a number the call screen goes to background. This is so frustrating. Anyone else experiencing the same?

                          I think the updates depend on your carrier, I have 11 form Mint (T-Mobile) and no issues AFAIK

                            Hi, I bought this phone unlocked from Sprint, with Android 10. Is it possible to upgrade it on Android 11? I've got the September 2021 security patch, but no A11 update. I've read that this phone may receive maybe A12 update as well in the future.
