This is such a great phone for its time. I had the dual screen version and just love it. It was awesome for multitasking( watching crypto charts and surfing social media/ reading news/ researching). The screen top notch the speakers are loud enough and sound pretty good for a phone. The fact that I could remove the second screen and save battery and space were also handy features. I've owned Samsung Galaxy's and an iPhone and I believe this is better than those phones. Such a shame they won't be making a sequel

Shameful and disappointing. Now Only Samsung (and Apple, but it's not Android) is left against Chinese companies' dominance worldwide.

It is a shame LG pull out of cell phone biz. Such a good phone for music! And very good in other regards. Fingerprint sensor is sucks. If you planning to keep it for long I'd recommend screen protector coz oleophobic coating is wearing out with time and smudges getting to be very noticable.

G8X was LG's first attempt on on-screen fingerprint readers. LG dramatically improved this on their Velvet & V60 phones. Also the display. Specially mention to V60, it is the king of the hill and best phone LG ever made.

If you minimise your usage to the point where you're just using regular apps from Play Store, and not browsing too much, you're not likely to be affected. I'm an Android 10 for music quality needs. Its still going good.
My last phone had Android 4.4 in the last days, no security problem happened.

Final OS 12 update was on Feb 2023. Highly unlikely G8X thinq will recieve any more security updates. Is it safe to use without the security updates? What is the ideal time to stop using it and what are the precautions we must take until replacement?

Solomon, 12 Sep 2023Hello guys...just got my g8x thinq and realized my power bu... moreIn my case, I've started facing this problem exactly after my G8x's Proximity sensor stopped working. And that was due to water exposure, I think.
Do one thing: Go to Settings/ Extensions/ Smart Doctor/ Test Hardware... And test all modules one by one, and let me know if there's a problem in any sensor... ?
