    wanna buy this device for $205 on aliexpress, its tagged refurbished, who has bought from there? any issues with getting it refurbished?

      To correct my earlier comment -- the claim that the g8x failed my OTG test appears to be based on the failure of the USB-c adapters I bought -- they don't fully insert. Sorry. Have we been here before?

On one side you get the LG G8X's flat glass back panel devoid of camera bump. This looks and feels very aesthetically pleasing to say the least. On the flip side you get a flat glass, and glass being slippery, it slides. The camera bump generally acts like an anchor when kept on a flat surface with sharp raised metal lips to protect the rear camera.

        The phone supports USB-OTG, but not through the dual screen case pogo pin. Take out the phone from the dual screen case and connect your OTG to the USB Type-C port. I have tried and it works flawlessly. And the phone supports true USB 3.1 speeds, a rarity even in flagships so file transfers are blazing fast.

        I admit the Dual Screen implementation have many rough edges, but hey for INR 18K ($245) brand new, ZERO complaints. Actually their is nothing in the $400 bracket in my country that can compete with LG G8X.

        In short, for the price G8X is an excellent device.

Because in f... moreI bought the LG G8X (with Dual Screen Case) from Flipkart (India) during "The Big Billion Days" sale that took place between 16th to 21st Oct, 2020. It was during this festive Diwali season Flipkart (owned by Wallmart) introduced this blockbuster deal where the phone was available for INR 20K ($272) and with card offers came down to INR 18K ($245). I got it for INR 18K.

          Later the news came up, LG moved some 150 hundred thousand units in the first 12 hours only and earned INR 350 crores in revenue.

              This phone is a very nice value at it present price point (circa 1/2021) but there is one valid warning that needs to be repeated, and one error in the gsmarena/phonearena specs. Firstly, this is an incredibly slick, frictionless, slippery glass encased phone that will slide off any angeled sureface. In the hands of the clumbsy, it's fate is assured. Secondly, I submit that it does not support USB OTG (on-the-go) functionality. I've tested, and the otherwise comprehensive manual fails to mention it.

              I purchased this phone through Bestbuy with the dual screen accessory at about $400, and while the phone itself is very capable - fast cpu, large storage and ram, bright and sharp screen, Android 10, etc - the dual screen accessory is difficult to justify. It is too big to carry unless you can really use it, and hard to use as either a 'clamshell keyboard' for document preparation or programming, or for screen extension to twice the area. I can't really judge the gaming/controller aspects -- that's not my thing. The installed LG keyboard-on-one-of-the-screens is not well designed, and not really configurable. (If it where opensource, it could be fixed.) You can perhaps find joy with "Hacker's Keyboard," but fiddling wil be required.

              It is true that the dual-screen case is good protection for the phone and can provide tent and prop configurations on a surface for comfortable screen viewing. You will need a very big carrying case.

                Also, do you think that every Meridian tuned LG would sound similar?

For INR 18K ($245) there is nothing left, right & center which can compete with this in our market. I am so impressed with this phone I may buy another for my wife if the price again falls down to INR 20K mark.

                  The only gripe I have with this phone is no native DSD/DoP playback support after Android 10 update. But with PCM audio files no issues.

                    I just got this phone ALL LATE I KNOW! Ijust fell in love with it. Its totally different from other phones and I'm such a
                    multi-tasker that this phone is absolutely what I needed in my life😍

                      I have had this phone for about five months now and bought it new at a local wholesale club in Canada. It has been a very good phone with zero problems so far. It was priced at a midrange price with mostly flagship specs! I do not own the second screen/case and have read that it is somewhat too thick when attached and breaks easily so I am not too worried about trying it as it is an expensive option costing well over three hundred dollars here in Canada! The phone itself is fast, screen nice although only FHD and has a host of other features with nothing much missing except 5G. I don't need 5G and probably won't for a few years as I can use up my data plan plenty fast already on 4G LTE! Two other family members also bought this phone about the same time as they realized it was a very good value for the specs and they are power users. They also really like this model of LG phone and have had no issues so far.

                            Lg g8x is a good phone but never purchase it from flipkart...they always send defective ones to buyers. ..and never replace it..i bought this phone and the product delivered has microphone issue(during phone call person on the other end can't hear me,voice not recording in whatsapps and voice recorder). Technician checked and confirmed its not software issue..an hour later i got a message from flipkart that replacement rejected because issue resolved by troubleshooting...after that i called technicians and asked about this,they said they just confirmed issue....they said try one more for time for the replacement but now the person who is calling from flipkart just hang up the call on the halfway and sent a message that call disconnected we will call tomorrow(they doing this on purpose)...even if your replacement request is genuine they never replace phone..cheater..

                                    Martinnraj, 30 Dec 2020I notice an issue with my LG G8X alarm.. Alarm works fine, ... moreI am using the LG G8X Indian unit. I can find in the default Clock app provided we have both Snooze and it's duration option. Also when the alarm rings I get the option for Snooze or Dismiss on the entire wide screen.

                                    Make sure under settings, Apps & notifications, Notifications, Brief notifications, the bubble notification is ON. Also look for the notification permission of the Clock app.

                                      I notice an issue with my LG G8X alarm.. Alarm works fine, it rings and vibrates on scheduled time, but it never pop's up as notification, so each time to turn if off, we always need to open menu, then clock and turn off the scheduled alarm.. So there no Snooze or Dismiss option ... Did anyone face this issue or have a solution?

                                      btw.. I did reset and still have this issue..

                                        HiFi97, 26 Dec 2020Have you tried the USB Audio Player Pro and Onkyo HF Player?UAPP is my defacto go to music player on Android. To me it is the best music player app if audio quality is your main concern. All my V30+ and G8X runs UAPP and compatibility is great with LG devices. The same cannot be said for Vivo smartphones though.

                                        I never used the other app.
