For INR 18K ($245) there is nothing left, right & center which can compete with this in our market. I am so impressed with this phone I may buy another for my wife if the price again falls down to INR 20K mark.

The only gripe I have with this phone is no native DSD/DoP playback support after Android 10 update. But with PCM audio files no issues.

I just got this phone ALL LATE I KNOW! Ijust fell in love with it. Its totally different from other phones and I'm such a
multi-tasker that this phone is absolutely what I needed in my life😍

I have had this phone for about five months now and bought it new at a local wholesale club in Canada. It has been a very good phone with zero problems so far. It was priced at a midrange price with mostly flagship specs! I do not own the second screen/case and have read that it is somewhat too thick when attached and breaks easily so I am not too worried about trying it as it is an expensive option costing well over three hundred dollars here in Canada! The phone itself is fast, screen nice although only FHD and has a host of other features with nothing much missing except 5G. I don't need 5G and probably won't for a few years as I can use up my data plan plenty fast already on 4G LTE! Two other family members also bought this phone about the same time as they realized it was a very good value for the specs and they are power users. They also really like this model of LG phone and have had no issues so far.

Lg g8x is a good phone but never purchase it from flipkart...they always send defective ones to buyers. ..and never replace it..i bought this phone and the product delivered has microphone issue(during phone call person on the other end can't hear me,voice not recording in whatsapps and voice recorder). Technician checked and confirmed its not software issue..an hour later i got a message from flipkart that replacement rejected because issue resolved by troubleshooting...after that i called technicians and asked about this, they said they just confirmed issue....they said try one more for time for the replacement but now the person who is calling from flipkart just hang up the call on the halfway and sent a message that call disconnected we will call tomorrow(they doing this on purpose)...even if your replacement request is genuine they never replace phone..cheater..

Martinnraj, 30 Dec 2020I notice an issue with my LG G8X alarm.. Alarm works fine, ... moreI am using the LG G8X Indian unit. I can find in the default Clock app provided we have both Snooze and it's duration option. Also when the alarm rings I get the option for Snooze or Dismiss on the entire wide screen.

Make sure under settings, Apps & notifications, Notifications, Brief notifications, the bubble notification is ON. Also look for the notification permission of the Clock app.

I notice an issue with my LG G8X alarm.. Alarm works fine, it rings and vibrates on scheduled time, but it never pop's up as notification, so each time to turn if off, we always need to open menu, then clock and turn off the scheduled alarm.. So there no Snooze or Dismiss option ... Did anyone face this issue or have a solution?

btw.. I did reset and still have this issue..

HiFi97, 26 Dec 2020Have you tried the USB Audio Player Pro and Onkyo HF Player?UAPP is my defacto go to music player on Android. To me it is the best music player app if audio quality is your main concern. All my V30+ and G8X runs UAPP and compatibility is great with LG devices. The same cannot be said for Vivo smartphones though.

I never used the other app.

Abosayed, 26 Dec 2020How is the fingerprint and overall performance?I don't like in-display fingerprint scanners. They maybe are more technologically advanced but are still slow and have less accuracy than regular scanners.

Fingerprint Scanners: My experiences will be confined to what I own, and among them LG G8X have the worst fingerprint scanner. Vivo NEX S have the best accuracy and speed followed my Meizu 16th (Meizu 16 in China). G8X is last.

Design & Build Quality: Meizu 16th with its trademark symmetrical design philosophy and utter built quality. Nothing can rival Meizu when it comes to design and in hand feel of the phone, the phone just nestles in your palm. Next in NEX S followed by G8X.

Call Reception and Quality: NEX S. Period. NEX S have a very sophisticated LTE antenna system allowing to get best reception and call quality. Meizu and LG comes next.

Smoothness in UI: In day to day use, fluidity and smoothness, NEX S is the best followed by Meizu. G8X may appear sluggish sometimes.

Gaming: In pure performance terms G8X is the best in gaming for short periods of time as it is adorned with SD855. When it comes to extended gaming experience NEX S with SD845 is still the best as the thermal management is the best on the phone. It maintains stable frame-rates even during extended gaming sessions when G8X will start minor SoC throttling after some time. Meizu 16th is last as it comes with SD845 and have some throttling during extended gaming.

Audio Performance: NEX S & G8X have great audio through headphone jack. I will rate them equal. Meizu comes distant third and its audio performance is more or less equal to LG G8S.

Speaker performance: G8X & 16th stereo speakers are on a league of its own. Vivo is third but its single speaker is very loud.

Innovative: G8X with its Dual Screen Case allowing for unlimited multitasking is the winner. Next is NEX S.

Battery: NEX S & G8X have equal battery capacity, but even when not using the dual screen case G8X have less battery backup than NEX S. Meizu is the last and typically a one day phone.

Charging: NEX S followed by 16th followed by G8X.

Performance per dollar: I bought NEX S @ $285, G8X @ $245 and 16th @ $240. So in this case G8X is on top followed by Meizu. NEX S is the most expensive of the lot.

Overall Rating: Considering the price of G8X makes it to the top of my list very closely followed by NEX S. Meizu comes last.

Bohana, 21 Dec 2020I got this phone fir around 250 bucks and I've to say ... moreI got mine at $245 brand new with the Dual Screen case slapped in. At this price, the LG G8X is a no brainier. In my country it is the best phone available in the $400 price segment.

For that price we get last years flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128 GB UFS 2.1 internal storage, premium flagship grade metal glass sandwich design, often overlooked proper USB Type-C 3.1 implementation with awesome transfer speeds, primary rear camera module with OIS, stereo speakers, LG famous QuadDAC implementation with 3.5 mm audio jack, memory card expansion slot..... and finally the actual Dual Screen case providing unheard multitasking in a smartphone.

No Xiaomi, Redmi, Mi, Poco, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realme, IQOO, Huawei, Honor can provide this much hardware at this price. I just hope LG keeps pouring in such drop dead offers each year. :)

                                  Cons:

Tucking Fypo, 08 Dec 2020as much as i hate to say it but i think LG will also move t... moreI too share the same feelings. With the current reshuffle of LG Mobile's top management their direction and priorities have changed.

                                    Outcome:

                                    1) LG will mainly concentrate on experimental concepts like LG Wing. New concepts requires a lot of energy and manpower so the development team from Korea mainly responsible for LG flagships like G & V series phones will now concentrate on experimental concept phones and a traditional top-tier V series 5G phone. V series will have QuadDACs but without any audio tuning houses to save cost. Take the latest V60 as an example.

                                    2) The experimental phones will be for marketing reasons, generating hype, drawing consumer attention and grabbing head lines. From a strategic business perspective this type of products are very important in the product portfolio. Just think of Samsung Galaxy Fold and how they can sell the phone in huge quantities with such an exuberant high price with fat profit margins.

                                    3) From low to mid-tier products upto Velvet, LG will now outsource from Chinese ODMs to save in-house development cost. Bad news. Expect no QuadDACs here.

                                    4) Under previous management if you look at LG G6, G7, G8, G8X, V30, V35, V40, V50 they all look very similar. Same industrial no nonsense design but with little design flair or snazzy looks. BTW I love the design & looks of my V30+ & G8X. Under new management its all about design. Just look at Velvet & Wing. When you splurge more money and effort on design, something has to give. Out goes QuadDAC and audio tuning houses like Meridian Audio & B&O.

                                    5) Lets be realistic, the highest selling flagships in the world gives a damn to audio jack and its audio quality. So why should we expect it from LG? They are out in the market to make money, not to satisfy the tiny group of audio enthusiasts like us. So audio jacks saying goodbye on LG phones are a high probability.

I say all this with a heavy heart as a audio lover. I hope LG continues the old trend of QuadDACs & collaboration with audio tuning houses in their future flagships.

the AOD is greenish in color rather than gray or black and white. while preview it shows gray but when applied it turns into green... I guess this is because of the in display finger print animation (which is green). A minor software bug. anyway we can put a dual screen case to get rid of greenish AOD. until LG solves this with an update.. hopefully...

RishiGuru, 01 Dec 2020In my humble opinion, audio tuning houses like B&O or M... moreas much as i hate to say it but i think LG will also move towards that remove all ports, no charger in box business model. i hope i am wrong.
