Does the GPS work as 'normal' "sat nav" or one have to pay for using it?

Google Maps GPS started working for a couple of minutes on my Renoir today. Got a GPS location, flashing blue dot, But the maps disappeared and didn't reload. So not exactly working well. MGMaps is still better.

Ok. To put some points in here and hopefully make this usefull.

                  UK User, Orange network.

                  -GPS
Doesn't work as standard because Orange are brining out "Orange Maps" which you have to pay for so obviously they dont want you to have the free GPS capabilities (VERY ANNOYED) with them about this as they advertise its built in and AGPS systems.

Got arround this with Mobile GMaps (link was in a comment a few down from here (mgmmaps.com or something) I had to get the "Unregister Jar" version for it to install with the latest stable release.
It works aslong as you give it full network and location allowance and have your GPS set to AGPS.

                  -Camera
Is brilliant in the day time and makes great videos, bit poor in the dark and if the flash is needed upclose but still by far better then most phones with Xenon flash's.

                  -Battery
Is good. I charged it up fully on Friday night and on teh Saturday sent 60texts, made 30 minutes worth of calls. Watch around 50minutes worth of Video (heroes episode i had on memory card) and browsed the web, facebook, msn mobile, my fantasy football etc... for about 3 hours on top of that, I took several pictures and I still had 1 bar left of battery come the following morning.

                  -Overall
Im really enjoying the phone. My only downside is the predictive texting isn't as good as it could be and if a word isnt in the list you have to keep adding letters untill the spell option comes up. And that instead of a space i keep hitting the insert option which i find very annoying.

Other then then its a top class phone. its just a shame the call quality is poor (quieter/more muffled) compared to my older nokia 6300's and N95's and the speaker phone quality is utter tripe :( (read: almsot completely unsueable)

                  -Personal Opinion
                  Im really enjoying the phone

I got my LG KC910 last Saturday - 08/11/08. There is no problem with the battery, the phone does not hang at all and i must say I love it and my colleagues were impressed to. The video streaming was excellent. It really lives uop to his 30 fps. Able to charge my phone via USB cable while using my laptop is a plus. I know they are individuals out there who will not consider a LG phone no matter what. Fine. Whatever makes you happy. I got mine from StarHub (Singapore) since it is the first telco in Asia to launch it. Yes. I am happy. The price was too good to resist. I want a phone that is packed with features but will not cause me an arm and a leg. In my opinion, Renoir is the best choice. There is no perfect phone out there. Only "perfect" in one's own eyes and experience.

At the very end of the video the touch screen is not responsive at all ...

I got a Renoir on the weekend and have had no issue tying on the screen. The qwerty option is a bit small but I can type as fast, or faster on the phone keyboard as on my old none TS phone.

Why does everyone comment on poor sms typing? or how long it takes? cant those who find it difficult use a qwerty keyboard? how did you type your comments on this website? on...a...qwerty...keyboard...??? now use those skills on your phone... or choose virtual keypad or handwriting recognition... 3 options tards

                                John,

LG has worked extensivley to fix the touch sensitivity. The Renoir is fantastic and has a more solid screen, not plastic anymore. Further modification to the touch screen will come with firmware.
