I have no idea which I should get, the Renoir or the Pixon. I like the Renoir more than the Pixon in turns of features, but there is a major problem. I tried the Viewty and the touchscreen is very bad. It feels like cheap plastic and you even need to "use force" to press the screen. The F480 was very good, a single tap and the button is pressed. So is the screen improved from the Viewty? If not I would not get the Renoir.

I had the phone now for few days, and all i can say its big improvment for LG, the screen resou an the sensiti big improvment than Viewty, the Gps dosnt work and the sound quality with dolby is very nice, the WiFi very fast and easy to connet

I have just got my LG Renoir from 02 and at risk at sounding incredibly thick can someone help me with the following:
I am trying to download Opera mini and Google maps or even the MGMaps that was mentioned but when they start to download it stops with a "Network Service Lost" message. Help, someone!

I would just like to say thanks for the Mgmaps link, my phone is now gps capable and looks like jogging buddy works too but i havn't tried it yet, time to get my running shoes on!
just a quick question, how do i go about getting other java funtions on my renoir like facebook and any other cool stuff, i'm not very up to date with mobile tech so all the help would be very much appreciated.
I really do like this phone, the camera suits me great. I had trouble txing at first but soon got use to it, sometimes its easier just to flip to qwerty for a word then back again. Definatly not gonna change it and happy to be with it for the next 18months.
Also downloaded free game and realtones from the lg mobile website, which seems to be updating for the renoir all the time just a shame its hard to accumilate the points up.
All in all i'm overly pleased with it and would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a touchscreen mobile.

Here's another full review (although not as detailed) on the Renoir.
The reviewer must really like the device, as she claims it to be "one of the best phones to come out in ages", and ranks it above the Samsung i8510 Innov8. Not to mention the fact that usability of the Renoir was actually reviewed to be BETTER than the Samsung 8MP phones.

It depends on how u define the sentence "All the crappy phone". Please tell me how to setup msn messenger in the Samsung M3200 Beat or SE K810 which are in the market now. :)

Unlike MSN, you can even connect to ICQ etc. Also supports Google Talk and facebook. As it runs on the Viewty, as well as the KF700 (which uses the same OS as the Viewty, but further developed), it should be working on the Renoir as well, as it is the continuation of the Viewty and KF700.
LG phones are capable of running quite some Java-applications, and there is java-applications for mostly anything you may think of, you just have to find them.

Guys ~ just wanted to give you all a heads up... the GSMArena 8MP Camera phone comparison review is available. Overall, Renoir scored the highest in terms of given points against Samsung Innov8 / Pixon, and Sony-Ericsson C905. Go check it out whenever you can.

Tom, 06 Nov 2008There is no turn by turn nav, only google map. There is no ... more>>There is no 3rd party nav-software available to download due to its incompatible Operating system. I have searched many sites to find one but couldnt find any. Till LG makes any firmware update for the phone.
Try this http://www.mgmaps.com/ it works fine for me. On my renoir, in the car. Picks up GPS well. Free. Google Maps not working for GPS, maybe in the next version...?

Audio is not as good as other handsets on market at moment. Mine keeps crashing aswell. Taken it back and turned to the lightside BlackBerry all the way baby!

Being a degree holder of Information Technology and Java lover myself, I was quite annoyed by some of the statements you made about Java Application’s future, Phone’s definition and life time and …etc.

well, i used the viewty and there was never any problems with mine, now ive got the renoir and its even better. top phone
