kaiser, yes, the plastic protector was taken off. but the pictures are still horrible quality. beware of this phone if you want nice pictures. 5mp simply means the pictures are big. but if you want sharp images, stay away. also, the automatic image resize for MMS messages does not always work with the australian 3 network as they have a 300k limit and this phone often resizes images bigger than that. I have played with every setting the phone has, and the images are still bad. outside in perfect sunny conditions, it will take some sharp images, but inside you will get blurry photos most of the time.

to the pJIA person regarding the texting
the texting on the viewty is fine for me, but obviously using normal buttons is the faster choice. i used to be able to text while driving (even though i know that it's quite dangerous...) but w/ the viewty i am unable to do that. i usually use the QWERTY keyboard as it seems to be the quickest way. i can use my thumbs for the QWERTY keyboard, but i do sometimes hit the wrong buttons.
i think all ur concerns are valid and you will notice them w/ the Viety regarding texting, but i dont think it should be the main issue on your deciding factor. that's just my opinion

hiya i'm really interested in getting the lg viewty in couple of wks. but i'm a text a holic and i wonder how people found the touch pad in respect to texting. is it easy to use when you type fast or do u have to type slow, i'm worried about catching other buttons. thanks

The first LG phone that impressed me.
Bought it for a week,performed very,i mean VERY well.Absolutely flawless!Camera Quality is superb.The only disappointment is relatively high noise level spotted when shooting with ISO800.

hi! this will sound silly.
I have tried to upload videos to Youtube directly from the Viewty but doesnt seem to work.
i filled up all my log in details etc. and when i press upload, it will say connecting for a while then after a few mins. it will say cannot be connected.
does anyone face the same problem?

i've been using this phone for over a month now. it's a brilliant phone. i sold my camera as this phone's one is better :). as everyone says, if WiFi was included, it would be a beast :D. GET THIS PHONE !! :]

there's no lens cover?? is it true? tat must be terrible..
anybody can make a comparison between viewty and sony k850? the camera..
can Viewty plays mpg video as good as ipod?? as in not LAGGY..
