To the people telling me to clean the lens!
I'm not an idiot, I cleaned the lens, set the ISO to 100, the picture quality to super fine, the size to 5mp but as I stated before they have the noise reduction set too high and it destroys the images. The colours are over saturated, and they are not sharp at all.
I did a side by side comparison with my old 2mp Sony and the Viewty looked awful in comparison.
The person who asked about the interface: I actually really like it, it's simple to use, the touch screen is really good, texting is great. as a phone it's really good.. as a camera it fails.

Hi steve,
i'm surprise too about your pics quality.
i've seen many test comparing the pics between viewty / k850 SE and nokia n95 and the viewty beat the 2 other down each times... and plus at this time it was still a prototype...
you're talking about noise... i tryed the k810 SE and didn't buy it because of that... too noisy outside if cloudy weather.
so.. as the comment bellow says: try to clean your lens maybe?

Hi steve.
I think you should've cleaned up the lens before taking pictures.
I boutht one today, and its picture quality is quite good. At first, i also forget cleaning the lens, i got little bit bad pictures. I found that the lens was not clean. after cleaning, i can finally get the best pictures.
Good luck man...

Since the phone is out now and some people have it, I am just wondering how's the phone call quality? anyone had the chance to try video calls as well? A phone just wouldnt be a phone if it cant even perform its basic duties well, no matter how good or how many extras there are

Some answers:
- Does it support microSDHC (more than 4GB)?
No
- What is the OS for viewty?
It has it's own, it's easy to use, but has no customisable options.
- I heard that the jog wheel can't turn 360 degree is it right?
Correct, it's spring loaded & only goes 30 degrees in either direction, and manual focussing the camera with it is impossible.
- Can we create our own theme?
No.
- Are there voice dial/ voice command function?
No.
-Does this phone have quick office software or equivalent?
No. Not built in, but maybe you can download something more than games?

Had my Viewty since Saturday too.
Some thoughts.
1. The camera is really bad. pictures are over noise-reduced & lack any detail. I got the viewty in preference to the Sony k850i and think I made a big mistake.
2. You can't switch off the camera shutter sound, so everyone knows you're taking a picture.
3. The PC Link software is awful.
4. On vodafone no YouTube link.
On the plus side the qwerty txt keyboard is great, and as a phone it's a lot of fun to use. But I now fear I'll be buying a k810i just to get a decent camera again, this this really is the worst camera I've used for a long time.
2Gb Micro SD is your maximum, and essential, as copying stuff off using the software is slow and awkward.

Further to my previous comment, I have noticed a minor flaw whereby the phone will mix up the thumbnails for photos and show you a thumbnail of a different picture, though I'm hoping that will be fixed with the first firmware update.

This phone went on sale with 3 yesterday and, having been waiting for several weeks for its realease and after a failed attempt to buy one 2 weeks ago from a website that claimed to have them in stock, I rushed down to my local 3 store straight away to get one.
After having 24 hours to play with it, I have to say LG have finally got it right. The feature set is superb, especially HSDPA, 5mpix camera and widescreen video.
LG have never really set the world alight with their handsets in the past (particularly the Chocolate, and the U8xx series on 3, all of which were spectacularly faulty), but with this it's just 'right'. It picks up where the Prada left off, with a very similar design, but much improved features and an improved user interface (same basic principle, but faster reaction time and a nifty little vibration/shudder to let you know it's registered your key press).
All in all, it's everything I hoped it would be, and with the added bonus of it being on a cheaper and better value tariff than my previous Vodafone contract I'm very happy with it.
If their future phones are of the same calibre, then I may well become an LG convert. I've been rocking with Sony Ericsson for the last 5 or so years, having owned various SE phones including the T68i, T610, T630, P800, V800i, W800i and K800i I have become quite disappointed with the direction their current handsets have gone with the 'in-your-face' styling, bright colours, and menu system, so the U990 is like a breath of fresh air, and exactly what I want from a phone.
Well done LG.

I would like to ask several questions. I am sorry if some questions are silly.
- Does it support microSDHC (more than 4GB)?
- What is the OS for viewty?
- Where can I find the charging cradle (from official web) and TV out cable?
- I heard that the jog wheel can't turn 360 degree is it right?
- Can we create our own theme?
- If we install java games, will the keyboard appear?
- Are there voice dial/ voice command function?
thank you

When I checked with LG Singapore, they said that the phone will come to Singapore in December. I read some people who said that it will come to Asia in November. So I presume it should be here before Christmas.
I was initially hoping to get Nokia's touchscreen phone but I read that it will most probably come out only end of next year. I like N95 8GB but I want a touchscreen and qwerty keypad, which Viewty has, so I am going to get this!
