I have this phone two weeks and I don't regret buying it. The build quality is excellent and to my eyes is more beautiful than its direct competitors, SIII and One-X. The display is awesome,it's crisp, clear, bright and you can use it in the sunlight without problems.
That being said it was a great disadvantage: the boot loader is locked, that means no custom ROMS and LG isn't famous for their support.
Other disadvantage is the camera, or to be more specific the camera software/firmware, it's a hit-and-miss to get a clear photo. The problems with auto-focus where somewhat addressed in version f but still, the experience is not satisfying.
The battery is on par with the competition and the heating problem is not that severe as it mentioned.
My opinion is that overall SGIII and One-X are slightly better but the value for money ratio of this phone can't be beaten by the competitors.
If you don't mind the chance of not having custom ROMS or of the delayed upgrades, by all means buy it. On the other hand if you do care about this, Samsung is clearly a better choice.
I' m hoping 4x to get the jelly bean upgrade but based on LG history -and I'm talking about 2x- I wouldn't hold my breath.

jeck, in your daily usage, how long this monster can endure until all the fuel been drained off dry ? Name your usage (light usage, medium usage or heavy usage) ? Such as ?

sorry for the wrong info. iBought my 4x Sep 14 2012 . . . hehehe my warranty for it is 1yr but the sales lady from lg told me if iAdd 1grand it will have 2yrs of warranty . . . good offer but iDid not grab it hehehe . . . until this day still enjoying my 4x . . . \,,/

Well . . . Heating is always in all high end smart phones . . . The 4x heat when you heavily used it in browsing and playing hd games . . . Well iThink its just typical in a quadcore smart phone . . . But for me it is no problem . . . And my 4x is updated to 10c . . . No autofocus problem what so ever . . . And my qwerty pad is much friendly than the first time i had it . . . iRecommend this phone than the lg optimus g. . . iKnow it is much powerful but what iLike about the 4x is the sd card slot at the battery that is replacesable . . .

Please help. I want buy phone and now I`m thinking about 2 phones.
This one (LG Optimus 4X HD P880) or HTC One X( http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_x-4320.php )
Both for me look very good, but can`t choose which is better. I just don`t like that HTC One X can`t take battery out, but like that it don`t have SD Card!
