CES 2013! starts 8th January and all eyes will be on Nvidia's tegra 4 chip as it gets finally announced and phone manufacturers announcing the release of their tegra 4 phones. First with their release is likely to be HTC with a tegra 4 phone BUT the rumours are that they have already abandoned some phones, but not sure which ones. LG are certainly going to be close behind them, with several chinese companies also likely to follow. As we get nearer to CES 2013 we will get more announcements from manufacturers and it's not far off now so watch this space.

I agree with what many are saying that the LG 4x hd is certainly good value for money, to get this for as low as £15.50/month and phone free on a 24 month contract is a bargain, and while it does have it's bad points it does at least have a removeable battery, sd card slot and an IPS display and I have to say it's a pleasure browsing on this large beautiful screen, it's very quick thanks to the quad core chip.

Not at all a good phone,very much disappointed.
1)Audio quality is not good.Lots of noise while listening to music.While speaking ,you will hear the other person voice as echoing,You feel like he is sitting in empty room and speaking.
2)once you receive the call it starts getting heat in a second.
Never believe Universal people.We went to buy Samsung S2. They convinced us to buy this phone after that ,they were not ready to accept it.
Don't believe in sales people,they will give all false reviews.
Before buying just ask who have already used and take feedback from them and then buy it.

Actually it is almost the same price of HTC one S. And then gonna look forward for Tegra 5 on 2014 as my next phone if HTC would continue their "getting better trend".

I brought this phone in over "samsung galaxy s2" and "Samsung Note" with strong recommendation from "UNIVERCELL". I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE CALL QUALITY,FM RADIO QUALITY, LOUD SPEAKER QUALITY of my set is not acceptable limits and the phone is heating up every 5 mins I am on call. I have contacted LG customer care and Univercell showroom and they have not been told these are commonissues in all android phones(which is pathetic response!!) and LG Customer Care manager mentioned I must have read review more carefully before buying LG phones. Please do not buy this phone and don't ever trust univercell pushy sales people and lose your money and time like me. I recommend GSM ARENA folks to put accross the review in more strong words so that people understand the call quality is way poor to an extent that it cant be used in their review

Update is made to Jelly Bean.
So far project Butter Run Smooth. Web browser is fast. battery don't seem to be having a MAJOR IMPROVE...But it is improve alittle bit. Camera runs GREAT, MUSIC PLAYER, WIFI, DATA A+
Remember that this is update for developers only so is not official... I have notice glitches for some apps foreclosing but nothing that cannot be adress before official update. Still checking what else the phone has new.
As fas as preloaded apps go...not much to say as my phone is developer and does not come with BLOATWARE.

And... HTC has LCD display, not IPS, do not forget it ;)

faizy , 25 Dec 2012Its a great device love it but i am having a problem while... moreYou are right faizy same thing with my device when am charging it when playing game high graphics phone gets hot where lg logo is located on the back instead of charging its draning icon is showing that its charging but it doesnt charge example am on 97 % phone is charging and running dead trigger after few mins it gets hot and battery is 96 % instead of charging its draning battery :( so that means i cannot play games while its plugged in :( someone else facing this issue plzzz help if there is a fix

Worse yet It didn't even came to my country and likely never will. Moreover i like Lg as a company as i like nokia but they never improved the symbia-same hardware, same specs, same camera quality all the time, got me naughts i ditched them . I'm going to wait and see what Lg will be able to offer in 2013 with tegra4. That might be their Last chance.

Its a great device love it but i am having a problem while playing gta vice city phone gets hot i know its normal for tegra chip but when i am playing the game while charger pluged in when device gets hot i lost 1 % battery and the charger is plugged in is it normal or my device is infected its charging when am using internet or for chating but playing high graphics games it gets hot and draining 1 % while playing and plugged onto wall charger anyways i love the device its super fast

Personally i would go for the HTC one x+, only downside is the non removeable battery and no card slot. Otherwise it its much better in every way in comparison to the LG 4x hd. It has the same tegra 3 chip but its been bumped upto 1.7ghz from 1.5ghz and takes much.better pictures and videos.

Well i simply meant that the the 4xhd which is about the same size with or slightly thicker than gs3 should be capable of housing or carry along a wolfson audiochip found in the s3 or a better chip than that tiny thing it carries.
Why do u sound so biased?Yes the 4x has sell well, but hold on a sec... Let me take you back a bit; You once claimed to have owned a samsung jet smartphone which you called a bunch of crap and it screwd you but it also sold in tens of millions and so it screwd all those victims aswell. So massive sells isn't a viable solution to hide a phones flaw.
The 4x sells in millions, yes that's normal as the 4xhd is undoubtedly a beautiful device with great hardware but as with other phones it comes wit a boatload of bugs. Accept it and stop this mumbo-jumbo.
It's a fact that you never can dictate correctly the contents of a passlewithout dully unwrapping it.
Yes i dont know you and i don't bother to know. Since the 4x gs still your phone of choice pls get the 4x and share your factual experience with it else keep your biased help to urself bcos a lot of people are finding it a annoyingly deceitful.

I recieve the Update Today. Using International Developer Vercion LG Optimus 4X HD P880. I will post more info as soon as I made the Update. Funny thing is that i have not see no other info about this update. So it might be a DEVELOPER UPDATE ONLY for now.

second im not bashing users im telling them its not the phones fault the phone is fine they just have either a bad sample or they killed the fostware during firmware upgrade or installed wrong apps.
if its software issues they can fix it and most likely caused it.
if its hardware they have a fluke phone thats bad out of factory and they need to return it its that simple.
the phone is fine.
lg sold many millions if there where real issues you would see thausants of people complaining.
like on the s3 cracking frame or the one x yellow screen.
so im here to tell people that need to either fix software or hand it in for a replacement its that simple.
and i have never talked people into buying the lg ive always told them that they ned to decide whats better for them ive just told them that out of the 3 this one is MY favorite.
the choice is still theres.
but aperently you only read what you want to read and that isnt my problem im here to help people and tell them that a few people complaying is actualy a good thing.
the day you see masses of people complaining all over the web is the day your talking about a bad phone.
and if you dont want to buy it thats fine i personaly would like a non tegra device also as the app devs are to lazy to build a actualy app that runs fine on the tegra chips.
but thats not the tegras problem thats the devs that are plain lazy and dont want to work for there money.
but for me even with tegra 3 this remain the phone of choice every time a new phone comes out i recheck my wishes and compare and so fat this one is my idea phone.
i like the optimus g design better but no removable battery or sd slot is a deal breaker for me.

You say the 4x couldn't wax a bigger audiochip, what is the size difference of the 4x and s3 which waxes the greatest audiblity?
Pino, if all you can do for upward of 8months since the 4x lunch, is come here and post nonsense, illinformed informations then Just shut your mouth and try somewhere else we don't need it anylonger.
You talk people into buying the 4x like client but read only reviews.
Left for me i'm nt buying this 4x or any tegra3 device cos i can't contend with all the complaints flying here and there. Let's wait and see if tegra4 and lg will come up with something workable in 2013.

It's a pity LG has not built in such a wonderful audiochip as Samsung into their phones - Wolfson. The sound would be great! And still the battery 3000+ mAh - this phone would be near to ideal :)
