Sad since every one and their dog are just releasing same same stuff every other month. All with sealed batteries and no jack.

I managed to upgrade my LG V20 to Android Pie 🥧. It feels so new and the experience is unbelievable. Gonna hang onto this phone for another 5 years 💪. The LG V20 is such an amazing phone.

Screen Retention,
its a common issue on all LG V20 handset, I have changed display from LG service center, it worked for couple of months & started facing same issue.

Siso, 16 Dec 2019Did anyone face screen retention?I have this issue with my ... moreThe solution to the V20's screen retention issue has been discussed in the past (at least 10x in this forum). Anyway, if you can't locate it in the previous several pages of this forum, read on:
Download and install 'Blue Light Filter app' by 'Leap Fitness Group' from the Playstore. Keep it running in the background to eliminate image/screen retention.
As long as 'Blue Light Filter' app is running in the background whenever your phone on, you'll never have image retention/ghosting in the V20--- EVER! Don't worry, the app is 100% safe and has practically no effect on battery life, no effect on processing power/speed and doesn't consume memory/storage/data/wifi. You won't even notice it running in the background because you won't see it in the recent apps list.
The only permission you need to provide it is 'draw over other apps' for its screen overlay to do its magic of banishing image ghosting/screen retention (for as long as it is running in the background).
Suggested settings for Blue Light Filter app for elimination of screen/image retention problem in the V20:
Night Mode: toggle 'ON'
Color temperature: 4500K (Tap 'sun and clouds' icon and tap 'OK' when prompted it is not good for sleeping)
Intensity: 3%
Screen dim: 5%
Set auto timer: toggle 'OFF'
Notification bar: toggle 'OFF'
That's it and you're good to go. You may increase or decrease Intensity % and Screen dim % depending on the amount of screen retention that you have. Higher % for stronger image/screen retention and lower % for milder image retention /mild ghosting. It normally remains in memory doing its magic unless some memory intensive app kicks it out from the background, in which case, you may need to restart it.
Note: There are apps that don't run properly when a screen overlay/filter (like Blue Light Filter app) is active. For these apps, just turn off screen filter and use the app. After running the app, exit it and turn back on the screen filter.

You'll end up with digital zoom and cropped photos if that's what you want. You can also crop later after the photo is captured using numerous third-party photo/image processing apps.

Anonymous, 11 Dec 2019I didn't do anything. Still running on stock Nougat that co... moreIt seems you have a battery issue. Bad batteries can cause boot, update and 'restore from backup' failures. Try this: Connect your phone to the charger and reboot, update or restore while it is charging. Do not ever remove it from the charger. If it boots up successfully, your battery is defective and must be replaced. Boot, update and restore sequences are very battery intensive. Defective batteries can seem 'normal' but they frequently cause phone shutdown and reboot during peak battery load demands causing data and android software/firmware system corruption.
If the above os unsuccessful, try borrowing from someone a good V20 battery and do the same (complete all software update/restore or update operarions while the phone is charging/connected to charger). If the problem persists with an otherwise good battery, send your V20 for repair.

My LG V20 is international version(H990DS). is upgrade to android 9 only for Korea? or it will come for all versions after a while?

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2019If you manually updated using the ROM of other V20 variants... moreI didn't do anything. Still running on stock Nougat that comes with the phone. It started not charging well so I restarted the phone and this happen. I tried using LG Bridge to repair update, using LG UP to flash the original firmware but nothing works even it says flash successful. It will still boot into "Software Update" page.
