List of V20 variants which were never updated by LG mobile to Oreo:

Those interested in buying an LG phone in the future:
BE SERIOUSLY WARNED!
This is a taste of how horrendous and discriminatory LG's software update support is. Buy a new LG phones only if you don't care about ZERO Android software update support.

I've had the V20 for 2years and when the root was found I was able to mod the thermal996.conf file so it could play games without it throttling the GPU, charge at full speed while using the phone and push stereo sound through the front speaker made this like a whole new phone. My next phone will definitely be the LG V35 cause theres no other upgrade path coming from such a great phone.

If only present day phones have the same removable battery feature. :/

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2019All smartphones become warm when using mobile data or gamin... moreI mean 40 degrees Celsius and below is ideal. However, most phones routinely reach 45 degrees Celsius during operation and it's still normal especially when the phone is streaming/using mobile data for a while, about an hour or being used in heavy gaming. If you use the phone actively, gaming with mobile data on while the phone is charging, you may get higher than 45 degrees and its still normal though you wouldn't want to do that often as it's not good to the phone and battery life.

Hp3, 01 Mar 2019Why my v20 gets hot on the Internet after a few minutes ?All smartphones become warm when using mobile data or gaming. It's a normal processor thing. It won't get too hot because there is such a thing as processor throttling where it won't get hotter anymore. Now if your phone gets too hot like 40 degrees Celsius, then something is wrong with your phone. The lithium ion battery is probably defective or shorted and you need to replace it. The good thing about removable battery is you can replace it. Otherwise,
you will have to throw it away as it can explode.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2019What about the bootloop problem found in the LG v20 Do you... moreHey Anonymous, you might think that this is funny and perhaps you are having fun when trolling about V20 "bootloop" but this is neither funny nor interesting anymore. It is becoming more and more difficult to find and buy a new V20 so less and less potential new owners meaning that your "bootloop" blah blah becomes irrelevant.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2019What about the bootloop problem found in the LG v20 Do you... moreMy first V20 get almost two years (anniversary May 5) free of bootloop and image retention. The second, purchased three months later, the same.
I think that my circumstance is unique.
P.S.: the first V20 working hardly all day long. Daily.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2019What about the bootloop problem found in the LG v20 Do you... moreLook, there is no bootloop problem with the V20. The V20 was released October 2016. That makes it just above 2 years old so nobody can possibly have owned it for 3 years.

The only REAL issues that SOME UNITS (not all) of the V20 have are:
                        1. Screen ghosting/image retention which can be solved using Blue Light filter app,
                        2. No Oreo update for some V20 variants and
                        3. Trolling from other flagship phone owners who are envious of the V20's features.

Seriously, I got tired of checking weekly via LG bridge for the Oreo update for my - ESA-xx variant since December 2018 up to February 2019 but still no Oreo be it LG bridge. Maybe in March 2019? Sorry, like Pie update for those that got Oreo, its wishful thinking.

These 6500mAh extended batteries for the V20 (PowerBear, Hyperion, Perfine, etc) that V20 owners are using are really liberating. Not as heavy and bulky as those 10,000mAh ones (Zerolemon) but still gives you more than a day of heavy mobile data and gaming use with no portability and aesthetic issues. (10000mAh extended batteries like the Zerolemon are really difficult to adjust to both in bulk/pocketability and looks [takes away beauty] but they serve their purpose in camping, long travels, etc).

While many newer flagship phones already caught up with 4000mAh minimum battery capacity, 6500mAh extended batteries are still in a league of their own. Best of all, you can have two for the V20 and swap them when empty. That's 13,000mAh! You'll never ever have battery anxiety again!
