According to your 'correct information', the V20's IR blaster is a gimmick, the removable battery is unnecessary ,the FM radio is for 'lowly' people, most people don't need dual sim, and a hybrid sd card slot is the same as a dedicated sd card slot. According to your 'correct information', amoleds last as long as ips displays, suffer less permanent screen burn in as ips, and are more color accurate than ips. According to your 'correct information' the S7 has FM radio and dual sim with dedicated slot at the same time (when the truth is, you combined features of two entirely different S7 variants.) According to your 'correct information' people don't need the V20's multitude of 'extra' features because they are gimmicks and the only things important to look for in a phone are 'screen, battery, memory (whatever you mean by that), and camera'. According to your 'correct information', the V20 is not worth buying in 2018 because according to Google, it is not even listed in the top 20 best phones. Look whose talking. It's the toilet bowl telling the rug it's dirty. :)

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2018Say what you want. It won't change things about the V20's t... moreTo spread misinformation using marketing BS is most detrimental to a prospective user who buys into these claims. This is not helping your LG V20 "community", especially with copy pasting the same set of supposed unique features you've listed and reiterating most of the same thing over and over again when some of them are not true for all the V20 models.

For people who would like to see how the V20 performs in practice, I would suggest them to go to the V20 subreddit rather than listen to this user who blatantly continues to copy and paste the same thing with a little more detail while providing no practical experience from actually using the phone. Showing bias in the "superiority" of a phone in order to "inform" people is ignorant, and misleads them too.

Looks well engineered. The removable battery, so easy to replace, is definitely a huge temptation. I'm hesitating whether to go for this one or for Ulefone power 5. I could easily carry 2 replacement batteries with me and just swap them when one runs off. So I could always have the phone at my disposal and not bother to consider leaving it a few hours to charge. 3200 mah is definitely insufficient but hmm, perhaps it could last me for 4-5 hrs of browsing... And screw videos, browsing is what really kills batteries.

... Unless if you are not completely satisfied and happy with your phone. Mind telling me exactly what phone model is your main driver, and why you believe it is way better than say, the V20?

In the end, if your needs are as simple as you say, (that is, screen, battery, memory, and camera), then be happy, celebrate and promote your happiness/satisfaction of your phone in your own forum and let satisfied/delighted V20 owners do the same in their forum.

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2018Can someone here help me with my LG's wifi connectivity iss... moreYou have to validate first if the connection problem is with the wifi source/router, the network, the phone, or any combination thereof. The wifi router has option for 5.0Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Try it both ways. Check the network if it is having any internet connectivity problems by trying to connect your PC, laptop, or other devices to it. If there's no problem with the network and Wi-Fi router, check the phone. Go to 'wifi settings' --- > tap on the 3 dots --- > saved wifi. Delete ALL saved wifi hotspots and try to reconnect to your wifi by inputting the wifi password. Repeat procedure if it fails once. If it fails again, while other devices are ok, try hard (factory) reset of your V20. If the problem persists only with the V20 even after factory reset and not other wifi devices, bring your V20 to the service center.

Do the same sort of elimination process with your bluetooth problem. (You were not very clear about what sort of bluetooth problem you have - whether the problem was connecting wireless earbuds, connecting a smartwatch, or transferring files via bluetooth to another device so I couldn't be more specific.)

Can someone here help me with my LG's wifi connectivity issue? I've had my V20 for about 1 year and 3 months now. I've lost the ability to have the wifi enabled and have it connect to any wifi connection about 5 months after I bought it :( I tried all the recommended steps that I can find in the internet. But it simply wouldn't work. LG has released the latest Android version for it and I had it updated last March. It worked for about an hour. Then simply reverted back to its problematic state. Even my bluetooth connection wouldn't work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks

I'm saying this for the third time, your feature list is way out of proportions for what the phone is valued for today and you've continued to deny the mistake I've pointed out in your list on its uniqueness. Hence why I am convinced you have an unnatural bias towards a company who produced this one phone, as do the other people arguing with you think based on your impulse to "defend" the reputation of the V20, much like a keyboard warrior now more than a salesman.

Poor marketing and shying away from all of the features that made their devices like the V20 stand apart from the herd has made the LG mobile division an endangered species. In this day of $1K flagships a sensibly priced phone with all of the features of the V20 would be welcomed. Not only would it bring those that defected back into the fold but would attract a whole new demographic. Wake up LG and go back to your roots. Trying to be more Samsung-like will only make consumers cut out the middle man and purchase Samsung devices. I've had a lot of different phones in my time and I have to say the LG V20 is one of the best, feature packed devices made.and at today's prices you just can't get more bang for the buck in my honest opinion.

Did I answer your question properly? Surely it's not a 'poor' answer again. :)

You know what? LG should pay me for promoting the V20 here in this forum... But then again, my criticism against crippled new flagship phones do not only apply to Samsung's phones. They apply to LG's newer flagship phones as well, so no, LG is angry at me because their older V20 model is selling more than their newer phone models. :)

And while you're reading this, do yourself a favor. Buy an LG V20 H990DS (B&O or non-B&O version) and you'll see just what is it that makes me passionate (or 'brainwashed' in your terms) about this phone. :)

Make no mistake however. I still love my Xiaomi Mi Max 2 for the big screen, big battery (even if it's sealed), excellent software updates and extensive theming options. It's the closest to the V20 in terms of features and good pricing... not the highway robbery price modern FM-less and IR-less flagship phones with microscopic batteries are now selling.

And to answer your question why the V20 isn't listed as the best phone in the world, simple: websites simply don't list old models that are no longer current or are already superseded by newer models.
Doing so will make the website listing look old and dated and no one will be interested in reading their articles. Besides, website sponsorship always highlights new products, not old ones.

Anonymous, 14 Jun 2018haha blah blah this blah blah that. I never denied that it... moreIt actually looks good not only in paper, but in real life as well. The 14 features I mentioned below? They're really worth having and worth envying. :)

Friends are amazed how everywhere I go, I can control mall appliances, their car stereos, workplace projectors, airport tv's, hotel aircons, and even karaoke players. They're amazed how my V20 phone could control everything. When we're in a low signal area in the workplace, they're amazed how my V20 can hold on to a very weak LTE signal and not change at all to 3G/WCDMA (V20's LTE only mode) while their phones automatically shift to the agonizingly slow WCDMA/3G signal. They get even more jealous when I can have 'LTE only' on sim 1 slot for superfast downloads, while still being able to receive phone calls on sim 2 slot. Many of them had to sacrifice their hybrid sim 2 slot for sd storage because they have lots of media files and only 32/64GB of internal storage. As for me, I get to use the 2 sim slots while still having the dedicated sd card slot available for my 200GB sd card.

When we're on a whole day bus trip, they get bored riding and they listen to their repetitive mp3 music collection while I enjoy live FM radio and news broadcasts. By 2PM, when we get back, they're already tethered to their wall chargers while I'm on my second battery pack moving around the workplace with no limitations.

The V20's feature benefits do not stop there. When they share their phone's data connection to their laptops, their hotspot ID (SSID) is visible to their bosses and other colleagues who then ask for their wifi/hotspot password while the V20's hotspot ID remains invisible.

When we're on a business travel and booked to a hoteI and need to view photos and videos on the hotel's LCD tv monitor (usually old model without wifi direct mirroring capability), they have to transfer files from their phones to their laptops or thumb drives first before they can view them on the hotel tv screen. For the V20, I just use my slimport adapter to mirror the V20 screen instantly to the hotel LCD tv.

In summary, if you don't have the feature in your phone, you don't know what you've been missing all along.

These days giant smartphone companies only care about profits, I think my samsung S4 is still a very good performer, the only problem is the screen it looks awful now. I try to buy newer models of samsung cos im used to its ui, but the problem is they removed almost all of my favorite features, the IR & removable battery. so i resort to xiaomi phones for the IR, and it is cheap but quality. from what ive observed it is only natural for websites to exclude older good phones like the note 3, s5, lgv20 etc when searching for top phones in 2018, to give way to newer phones. thats marketing. when the truth is, even phones from 2014 still performs very well today, but they force you to buy a new one by not supporting it with software updates anymore, otherwise they go bankrupt. And that my friend is the TRUTH

Anyways I just googled "what is the best phone in the world?" and it gave me a lot of articles including one by Business Insider (Top 20 phones in the world) and Stuff Magazine (Top 10 phones you can buy right now) and the V20 wasn't on any of the their lists. There are other lists but none of them have the V20, too. Google it for yourself and see.

If you add "2016" to the search only then do you you see the V20 making it into lists (which is totally expected)

Please point me to a current article that lists the V20 as still being a top performing phone, doesn't even need to be no. 1! Thanks.

Manufacturers have learned to neglect long-term features necessary for phone longevity and replaced them instead with faddish features like curved screens, wireless charging, etc. As with all fads, they come and go. It's curved screens now with 18:9 aspect ratio and iphones like notches. Soon however, aspect ratios will change again and foldable screens will be 'chic' and 'in'. In the meantime, people will still have IR based remote control devices, still have FM radios, still use wired headphones, and still use local expandable sd card storage (possibly bigger capacities than 400gb), and still use lithium ion/lithium polymer batteries.
