AnonD-143219, 02 Sep 2017Try living in Australia, we're looking at at least $1000AU ... moreDoesnt the price drop after few months?
In Indonesia, LG G6 was AUD *950ish when it was first released.
Now (September 2017) its only AUD *750ish.
I imagine the price will drop even further when LG V30 arrived here.
(*Official prices from LG's distributor, might cost less buying it from online sellers)
Samsung doesnt care tho, S8/S8+ still sell like hotcakes without price changes.

[deleted post]The V20 doesn't have bootloop issue reported here. I've two units running "Nougat" with the possibility of jump to "Peanuts" (?) without installing a personalised ROM.

Why take away the two main features of this phone for power users LG???? No IR blaster, and no removable battery??? No upgrade....I have been an LG loyalist since the first G was announced and now to know that LG is more concerned with following in Samsung's footsteps is very disappointing...

I do think exactly the same No removable battery No lg. I can choose from all the other brand you mentioned or stick to my V20 until a brand recognized the consumer need for flagship with removable battery

[deleted post]I own the h990ds with double sim. Perfect phone not a glitch
Very disappointed by the V30. Just another phone as so many more. Nothing to differentiate it.
Gone the removable battery and the military grade mi mains reasons to buy this phone. Just another curved nice crap who will break after a few falls.
Gone also the IR blaster and the FM radio very useful in case of natural disaster ( as the extra battery)
Bad for LG

gws89, 02 Sep 2017I'm very sure there's FM radio. I saw it at LG Germany website.I hope you're right my friend, that would make this phone flawless except headphone jack on the top instead bottom.

I use IR on my G3 for a multitude of devices both at home and in office like TVs aircons etc. It just very convenient. IR and FM radio were among the reasons I always chose LG over Samsung. Apple somehow convince the world that we dont need a lot of practical features that enhances our user experience examples removable battery despite the many many many advantages over nonremovable, headphone jacks, sd cards, FM Radio, IR among others. Then Samsung copies a lot of what Apple does, then everybody copies Samsung. The V30 is truly a great product and still have many differences from Samsung and other brands but the key features that made it stand out are now all gone. And please dont say infrared and FM radio is dead. A great many of us - if I am not mistaken thr vast majority -
still own products (tvs, aircons, dvd players) that use infrared. IR provides an interface between old and new technology. And yes many people dont know of and dont use the feature but many do. And even then how much can it possibly cost the company to include this feature. I can stomach the non removable battery and FM but IR I will truly miss. I was waiting like forever for a worthy upgrade to the G3 and may still buy the V30 for the camera, sound, build quality and design but while its prettier than its predecessors (v10, v20) it certainly will leave u yearning for these forgotton features.

Great stuff.
1. Going with an 18:9 aspect ration compared to Samsungs 18.5:9 gives it just a bit more width which to me looks better an less top heavy.
2. Not going with a curved over the edge display, More protection, less reflection, more practical.
3. Dual camera that is simple to understand. One for normal, one for wide angle, simple, practical, useful.
4. Great audio.
Looks like the best top end phone of the year so far,
Well done LG.
