LilSweetLin, 07 Mar 2018How would you compare the headphone audio from the quad DAC... moreIf you listen to music lot via headphone then V30 is great but not by much as U11+ output is also very good only thing is you have to use an extra dongle which is again an additional thing to carry.
Pro's of U11+:
1. Boom sound loudspeaker output is awesome.
2. Rear camera is simply much better than V30 in auto mode.
3. Selfi Camera is miles ahead of V30.
4. Running on Oreo and I am sure that we will receive next major update within 4 months of Release .
5. Great battery life (Some might disagree but I am getting around 5-7 hrs of screen On time from around 12 hrs of usage)
6. Superb display...... but very dim for outdoor usage.
Pros of LG V30:
1. Very compact 6 inch mobile with bright amoled display ( There are lot of display issue as per other users but my unit is great)
2. Superb manual camera mode especially for videos(Selfi cam really sucks).
3. Sound output via 3.5mm headphone jack is great. But loudspeaker output is just flat.
4. great battery life.
Major issue with LG is that they are lease bothered about software support and you will never get a replay for your queries from their customer support.

Only... moreHow would you compare the headphone audio from the quad DAC on the LG V30 to BoomSound on the U11+? Are they similar in sound, on-par, or is the V30 better than BoomSound? Or vice-versa?
I have 32 ohm impedance earbuds that sound great on HTC phones with BoomSound, but when I tested my earbuds on the V30, there was no difference in the sound whether the DAC was toggled on or off. I have seen videos on YouTube that show you need 50+ ohm headphones for the quad DAC to work on the V30.
Still, I like BoomSound because it gives music a more full sound, and you can hear each instrument in music. Which do you think is better?

Only thing I am leaning away from Lg v30 is lack of proper software update support. Still no Oreo update and even don't think we will get any more update apart from Oreo if at all we receive it.

V30 is a Sham! Only ram 2gb increased, rest is same bulls it. Price 850$ obnoxious. LG has no new model in pipeline G7 and V40 Shelved!

I couldn't in my wildest dreams imagine that anyone could be worse with software updates than Samsung, but then I bought my first LG phone. Boy was I wrong, I am actually at the point where I don't expect anything to happen before summer.

2.better processor - mandatory / standard / general upgrade every year, however there is no much difference between Snapdragon 820 and 835 in single core performance
3.18:9 display - one of the worst things about V30
4.upgraded quad dac - useless, not an important thing
5.upgraded cameras - mandatory / standard / general upgrade every year, however the smaller pixel size sounds more like a downgrade
6.oled display - worse than IPS LCD
7.better battery life - not true, read the next point
8.bigger battery - bigger by 100mAh, right? Are you joking? You can insert 6000mAh or even 10000mAh extended battery into the V20. Also the non-removable battery of your V30 has limited lifespan, it degrades over time which means your V30 is a disposable phone and will have shorter battery life than V20.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2018is the on and off button on the back practical? It is something to get used on because usually you try to pich a button on the side of the phone, now it is on the back. But once you are used to it, it definitely is easy and practical. And it also is the fingerprint scanner at the same time so unlocking is easy.
