How is the battery SOT and standby time on the V30? Does the battery drain a lot overnight? I'm trying to decide between the V30 or the Mate 10 Pro. Samsung battery life sucks, so I'm not considering the S9+. The Mate 10 Pro has a 4,000 mAh battery, LG V30 only 3,300 mAh. My Nexus 6P has 3,450 mAh, so the smaller battery scares me. But I want to have the headphone jack with the quad DAC for music. And I see reviewers that say EMUI software on the Mate 10 Pro is bad. Is this true? Why is it bad?

Then I'm thinking, should I wait for the LG G7, V40 or Note 9? I'm very torn, lol. What should I do?

    Hi i want to share my experience with my lg v30+. In short, i think its awesome phone i like it more than samsung but i end up sold it..here is why

    First the design is top notch. Its solid and screen is detailed. Not to mention the weight feels perfect in my hand. I still honestly missed that feeling in my hand.
    Speaker is fine. Mono is not that astounding, but most competitor with headphone jack are same anyway. If i want to hear better music just plug headphone jack and quad dac voila. Storage have 128gb for plus version. Definetely feels perfect for me rather than most 64gb competitor (theres only 128gb v30 in my place and competitor mostly 64gb). Battery is solid and fast enough no complaint at all. Camera might be losing quality than the competitor, but using google camera and its one of kind wide angle cam is comparable enough that i dont see it as weakness at all.

    Now as for why i end up sold it, the display is UNBEARABLE for me. I know, its detailed crispy cool.and smooth. But the ugly/gloomy color is unfixable for me. I tried every kind of setting and app. I tried to bear with it but i just cannot love the screen. True, its more awesome screen than my note 4 but i just cannot love the display . Something i have no problem with my previous v20

    So with broken heart, i end up separate with my v30. Waiting for iphone x now.
    If the screen is at least bearable for me to watch, i would definetely not going to choose another phone.

    Sorry for just ranting, i love v30 in every way but for a flagship phone that problem is just unbearable to ignore

                Lgv30 quad dac modes, lots of discussions on this, lots of people including audiophile experts talking about how it's the best dac in any phone and talk about the different modes and how they work etc

                If you want the best audio out of the phone buy some sound magic e50c or e80c in ear headphones you will be blown away

Wide angle camera that can be used for many things including selfies with Google camera port and it even supports portrait mode and you can use the flash for some of the best selfie and blogging.... Microphones that don't distort even with loud recordings.... Great battery life no battery saving techniques and I get over 6 hours screen on time deep sleep is awesome with no hacks etc... The quad dac has to be hard to be believed just make sure your headphones are over 50ohms for example sound magic e50c or e80c in ears.... The screen is amazing and problems exaggerated a lot.... Good firmware with tap to wake, always on display, themes, just install nova launcher... Boom

                  The lgv30 128gb is just 500 pounds online at the minute.... The best mobile on the market right now for that price

                    If you like the lgv20 so much buy a couple more, they are cheaper now.

                    Those of us that appreciate the lgv30 can use that, you keep going on about a second screen and bigger battery's but I'm really happy with an amoled screen with always on display and with over 6 hours screen on time and quick charging with waterproof design so I can listen to music in the shower every day

                    Different users.. Different needs.... Buy the lgv20... Stick a brick in it for extra battery life... I'd rather have the amoled screen and waterproof design every day

                      If you use this method its one of the best selfie cameras

                          Why can't we, keep trotting from one brand to another, losing the original mainstream does & don't's. But every time you shift brands, become more venerable to confusion. LG is one of them, and I wud not like to Risk.

As I said, only a very few people expose their phones to water, while on the other hand, ALL batteries are guaranteed to fail and going to need replacement, because all of them have limited lifespan. So removable battery is the most important. And the removable battery doesn't exclude the water resistance. You can have both.
                              2. there is no much difference between Snapdragon 820 and 835 in single core performance
                              3. 18:9 display is unnecessary and useless, 16:9 is better
                              4. yes, the quad dac is not important. any phone sounds good with headphones
                              6. oled is much worse than lcd, it is not more power efficient, and burn-in is the worst thing about oled
                              7. Basically the battery life is not related to whether the battery is sealed or not. So if a new phone with sealed battery has better battery life, it's due to other factors that can be incorporated into a phone with removable battery too. Moreover, you can insert 6000mAh or even 10000mAh extended battery into the V20. You can't do this with V30. Also the non-removable battery of the V30 has limited lifespan, it degrades over time which means the V30 is a disposable phone and will have shorter battery life than V20, it's guaranteed. So the sealed battery means lower battery life in the long run.

                                    7:when i say better battery life i really meant better cause do you think each and every people that use v20 have spare batteries on them?i bet no and i bet that the v20 can get max 5hrs of screen on time whereas mine i hot 9hrs on my v30 almost everyday and it had enought juice to go to 10 but i just put it on the charger cause i need it full charge for school the day after

                                      Obnoxious prices of V30S announced, 975$ 128 1075$ 256! No difference, later n September V30 & V30+ will also get AI support. What are we expecting from LG a Notch, Vertical twin Camera! Following Chinese patterns. As Apple will do away from Notch in 2019. 100%!

                                        I wonder if the employees at LG Mobile even use their own phones cause if they do .....they'd be disappointed with the V30's design deviation from it's predecessors like I am.  Removable battery, IR Transmitter and Secondary Screen should've stayed on the V30.  It's complete insanity to even think that removing pertinent hardware and useful features in any electronics device actually constitutes technological improvement or advancement at higher consumer's expense.  Just venting .....**sigh** .... I feel much better now..... I still like you LG ! I'll just wait for your next one.
