Hello All,

I need help. Can anyone tell me his/her experience on tower reception. I am using Vodafone sim in Delhi India and the tower reception is not good. Not sure whether this is a problem in phone or Vodafone

    Lg wing is a good phone but battery is average nd sound quality with no stereo speakers is boring
    Camera is awesome even performances is good

            Hope LG can make a comeback in the future if they decide to, you know, start making phones again. Until then, I will be switching to Sony Xperia in the meantime. Hope the Xperia 1 III doesn't disappoint.

There is no doubt that it will be a true upgrade with G7+. I still have doubts about sound quality compare to LG because LG DAC used 32bit/192k harware system and Rog 5 used 24bit. It will take time and hard efforts to beat LG in sound department. But sure, once 256GB variant available in India, i will go for it. And rumors says ZenFone 8 will be packed with 32bit audio chip. Lets see what will come in future. I can wait because if this info is ture, it is worth waiting for. Addiing to that, Rog 5 is beast in every expect.

                If you don't like Chinese phones, you may have a look at Asus ROG Phone 5. It has got real fire power when it comes to headphone audio with a proper 3.5mm audio jack. This is what GSMArena has to say:

                      So sad, but LG ended up with mobile production mainly becouse of this strange experiments and inadequate prices.

                        I cant say anything about Vivo phones, i never used that brand. Even, i never used any Chinese brand. I better be stay away from those. It really doesn't matter what specs they provide and on what price, I just don't want them. I prefer any Non-Chinese brand anytime even with some low specs at given price. Trust me, one of my friends paid a heavy amount just because of security related issues. Even, he got fired because of that back in 2016 so, i will try not to opt any Chinese brand.
                        And yes, about the sound quality, i am looking for some mobiles which have good listening experience. Till then, am totally fine with G7+. This mobile have no issues, not even a scratch. By 2.5 years, i am looking after this mobile like a precious gem. Hope mobile companies will liten to us and make a dedicated mobile for sound lovers. They. Can keep everything else old like 1-2 generations.
                        But thanks for you info. About chips and sound department. It is always a pleasure to discuss this with you and music lovers.

I really loved to read the subjective part. In the end it seems Wing delivered as much as I expected it to be in audio department. And the net result is poor performance in comparison to ESS laden DAC models like LG G7+.

                          Frankly speaking, ESS dacs (QuadDAC) are the best in business, and very few phones can compete with them. I have experienced their capabilities with LG V30+ & LG G8X. Wing must be using a mid level Qualcomm audio codec that ships with SD765G in Wing.

                          Question is LG Wing's DAC is inside the phone or in the dongle? If Wing is emanating pure digital audio stream from its USB port, then a Hi-end audio dongle will take it near your G7's performance. But if the DAC is inside the phone and the dongle is just an analogue pass-through then we are stuck.

                          In my expereince only the top end Cirrus Logic DACs can compete with ESS DACs. I have a Vivo NEX S laden with Cirrus Logic DAC, it has what it takes to compete with my LG's. The latest Vivo X60 Pro+ is also laden with Cirrus Logic DAC inside. This phone is capable to challenge your G7+ on the open. However no audio jack in X60 Pro+, so we have to always use the analogue audio pass-through dongle with it. I hate that.

                          Lastly, India bound LG Velvet (4G) comes with Snapdragon 845. SD845 comes with a discrete Qualcomm Aqstic WCD9341 top-of-the-line audio chip. The WCD9341 when implemented in high power/ performance mode is a TRUE KILLER. If properly implemented in the hardware level it can slay many dedicated DAC phones.

                          I have a Meizu 16th (SD845 & WCD9341) and the audio quality is sublime. It slays my iQOO 3's dedicated AKM AK4377A DAC by slight margin. Manufacturers like LG, Vivo & Meizu understands audio and do what is required in the hardware level to wring the maximum from these audio chips. To me Meizu 16th is a benchmark of what Qualcomm is capable in the headphone audio department.

                          In the end LG Wing may be a great phone, but for audio lovers like us it is complete NO NO.

                            RishiGuru, 18 Apr 2021Thanks in advance. :)I am here again with some mixed feelings about the sound quality of LG Wing. I tested that with type c connector provided in the box. It was loud and clear. The vocals were balanced and a punch of bass was also there. I can say the results were quite satisfactory. But but but.. in the comparison with G7+ Thinq, sorry to say but it is nowhere near. I used ATH M50x and Sony Hi-Res. IEMs which are my daily drivers. Following are some points:
                            - The loudness with clarity was missed in Wing.
                            - The punch of actual Flac file was like similar to a 320 kbps Mp3 in Wing.
                            - Equaliser is not that effective, no matter what settings i am on. Wing missed that enhanced quality.
                            - A pre installed 3D sound engine also was not that effective, there was a very low difference in Wing.
                            - It was very horrible experience when using that 3D SE with equaliser. It was like totally "Khichaddi" mixed. Even kichaddi is tasted better.
                            - Finally, the orchestra test without using any app, just plain music, it was nice.
                            Do not use that 3D sound engine, man that had ruined the quality.
                            Now again, I tried that with Samsung dongle, it was a bit loud but not any noticeable difference. But that play the songs better without using any enhancer or engine.
                            If you ask me frankly, I would go for Velvet any time if I have to choose between Wing and Velvet in sound department. Velvet sound quality is far better and richer.
                            And for me, I will stick with G7+ for now as I didn't find any alternative. Actually, I kinda likeing my G7+ more after this experience. 😂
                            Well, that's it. My experience with Wing. Hope it helps.

                              hello does anyone know if the S. Korean i.e international unlocked version has different network bands (especially in 5g) versus the U.S variants (perhaps some U.S posters might know) I understand there are slight differences between the U.S versions themselves (Tmobile is different from the ATT and Verizon ones, the latter two are similar). thanks!

                                      It is a cool device but not of my taste. I waiting for V60 5G or S21FE .... But want V60 more as that would be a good upgrade other then screen resolution.
                                      And if sony will come back to india i will definitely go for 1 III .
