It Will Affect Ur Settings.............. If Reset Is Important Then Do "Soft Reset"............. Press Both Home Button And Volume Down Button For 10 Second For Soft Reset.

after an update to windows 10 .164 my lockscreen becomes black sometime and everything shows double.....how to cure this disease please help me guyz

I will never recomend to go back to Windows 8.1.My Lumia 640 XL having network freezing problem since last One month and the problem was more cronic as the time was passed.Restarst is the only solution I was visited to Nokia care but they said that there is no issues in smartphone it will be eliminate soon.After two days I got Winndows 10 update.After W 10 update Network freezing issues completly fix but call drop problem.Solution - After Windows 10 update device is looking for second 164 build install it ,then after hard reset is required after hard reset your device is completly copitable with Windows 10 OS (smooth performace) you can easly differentiate between two.Yes Windows 10 battery backup is lesser than the Windows 8.1 but in performance Windows 10 is much much better than Windows 8.1

Approximate 800-900mb it's take. And installation time around 1h.30min to complete all things and after updated windows 10 if you check for update 283mb update available for stability better work.

Windows 10 update just takes around 1.3 gb so you need to have at least 1.5gb free phone memory (not memory card)
NB: The update will replace the same phone memory occupied by Windows 8.1 so the same free memory will be there even after installing Windows 10 and before installing it's better to uninstall those huge apps so that it won't take more time while installing and transferring those files again. it really takes lot of time for that too. it just takes around 3 hours at maximum for complete installation.
Windows 10 works great in Lumia 640.

It is also understandable because the best the OS,the more resources it needs and hence demand for more battery power. But have you also noticed that Quiet time is not working? When you tap on the icon in notification panel,it rather opens the edge browser and displays some stuff.

I jst upgraded officially to windows 10 on my lumia 640 Dual sim...wow!!!!!! I now love microsoft the more...sooo nice and smooth...even after the upgrade,they are still sending me updates...thats good customer service frm microsoft. Luv u all

you will be required to download the Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor app from the Windows Store, and select Enable Windows 10 upgrade. If your device is eligible, the app will give you a confirmation. If so, you will be required to go to Phone Update from the Settings and start the upgrade process.
For those who own a Windows Phone handset such as the Lumia 520, which isn't listed above, you need to wait a little more. Microsoft says that it didn't want to release Windows 10 Mobile to every Windows Phone 8.1-compatible smartphone because it is still testing the operating system on older devices - a little surprising given the delay.
