Standby time means you turn on the phone and leave it - no touching, no talking - nothing. It can last many days this way ;) but nobody buys a phone and leaves it unusable. Battery is very good - usually I charge it everyday or once every two days cause I use it a lot - wireless is on, internet browsing, youtube, mmorpg playing and etc. which should use up a lot of battery :) so far the longest it lasted was almost 4 days and I still used it regulary, but not that much.

I do Not understand this : According to Motorola, battery will last for app 10 days, but almost all users agree for about 1 (one) day ?!?!?!

LOL, 05 Jan 2011I use DEFY for almost 2 weeks now... here my short revi... morebattery backup is better than my original milestone....my milestone show 40% when i go back home from my work but defy show 70% .what i do is go to setting and uncheck the anable background data, install advanced task killer and kill all the running apps, stop the weather widget manually....good luck friend.

A great phone with a lot of great features! 3G works great on it and the screen responds quickly when touched. The only complaint I would have about this phone is the camera. Not a big issue, but in low light and indoors the quality is not the best. The buttons on the phone itself (the Home button, etc.) are almost too sensitive at times when using the touch screen, but this isn't a problem when you want them to work as well as they do on this phone.

I use DEFY for almost 2 weeks now...
here my short review
all app works perfect
camera not the best but acceptable (LED works on very dark place)
Internet relative fast (depends on your provider)
Screen is wonderful
Play HD video and didnt find any lagging
CPU works fast
texting with swipe is great (defintely faster than typing)
Music player is wonderful (lyrics auto generated by the software)
Sounds quality is good (no earpiece problem as mentioned)
BUT ONLY ONE PROBLEM I HATE IT SO MUCH
Battery life SUPER suxx.. only last less than 8 hours for normal usage (I switched off everything; WIFI, GPS, All apps especially FB, Twitter, etc)
Although i have the USB cable connected to my PC whenever im in the office.. but IT DOESNT help much... charging via USB are extremely slow..
So.. i guess i may need to buy spare battery or portable battery charger...

Bought my today 03/jan/2011 cuz i lost my MB220 DEXT (9 months with him, lost in New Year Party! LOL) Man, this phone rocks the house! Now the "stock" battery level reachs 0 and i'm waiting for the first 8 hours charge (the vendors says it to me, is it true first charge have to wait 8 hours?? the phone reach 100% of battery about 1 or 2 hours charging... why wait so much??) and then tomorrow i'll see the goodies from this little beast!

Had it since Nov 2010. Got it as private sale from somone on T-mobile. Cost me £15 to unlock and RDSlite or something like that to debrand.
BEST PHONE EVER FORM ME. Tried in water and red wine. Drop it and kicked it to prove a point. Motorola original car holder is fantastc. It charges the phone when in cradle without me pluging any wires to mobile. Love it.
Has a voice search built in navigation and search for nearby shops and suppliers. A must for me. Emails, web all availabel at instant. Free avg anivirus from Market apps is a bonus plus locator and remote data wipe should you lose you mobile forever. Never knew such thing exsits or possible.
I am in building trade and this is perfect mobile for me. Simple yet feature packed, robust enough to be thrown into toolbox yet half the cost of popular mobiles outhere. My budy busted screen on his £500 plus phone after 3 weeks, he was cheesed off when saw what I was doing with mine.
I wish it was availabale long time ago.

Happy with my Defy, just the camera quality/ speed lose to my ZN5. LOL
The video no HD but still very smooth for daily snap.
Using it for my daily business/ personal schedule. Data viewing/ edit/ internet/ GPS/ Fun ~ its really great. As specially my phone is safe from my baby girl. ( Dust/ Accident Drop/ Water Resistant / Scratch proof )
